A. Both are marketed for their multimedia capabilities, but they have differences in their main multimedia features
N8 - Better imaging with the 12mp camera with Xenon flash, and HD recording at 25fps. It has better build quality too. Processors and RAM is not very fast, but that is because it runs on Symbian which is the most efficient phone OS. Web browsing sucks, but can be helped by the Opera browser. It has an AMOLED screen which makes the screen quality very good. Resolution in the 3.5" screen is a bit low at nHD, but it is good enough. battery life is not half bad. Symbian needs a lot of improments to be able to face Android head on.
Galaxy S - 5mp camera is pretty good but lacks flash. HD recording at 30fps. Processors are fast and it has a a large amount of RAM. It is pretty light since it is mostly made of plastic at the back. Web browsing is excellent because of the 4" Super AMOLED screen at WVGA resolution. Battery life is pretty good. Android OS is a lot better than Symbian.

Which phone should I get?
Q. It's out of the htc desire, blackberry bold and nokia n8, or any other phone recommended around the price of those phones. Thnkx
A. It depends on what you're looking for. Out of the three, Android is the best OS, so HTC Desire. But, really, it comes down to what you're looking for. The Samsung Intercept wouldn't be good if you were a photographer. The HTC HD2 wouldn't be good if you don't do much business.
HTC Desire: you want the fastest phone. It gives you very good processor speeds. You want a big bright screen. Perfect for touchscreen users that want the best of the best. US Cellular is it's carrier, so you may want to unlock it for a different carrier.
Nokia N8: you are a photographer, and expect to call and use that thing to take high quality pictures with a 12 MP camera, with Xenon flash (improving the quality). You are familiar with Nokia phones and don't want to buy extra since it is already unlocked.
Blackberry Bold: you compose millions of emails. You are a businessman/businesswoman, and want to write a lot of emails. Again, you still want to have some fun during your break, right?
Whichever is more important, you decide. But it general, the HTC Desire wins.
