Ram space on Android phone?

Q. So, I've been thinking about buying the LG Optimus 3D and I noticed that the phone has 512 ram and dual core 1ghz.

I understand that the ghz means the speed of the cores but what does the ram do? Most of the android phone has 1gb ram so im wondering if this 512mb ram would cause any problem ?

A. You're mistaken in that aspect. Most phones nowadays have 512mb of ram. Your phone will be fine. Some phones either have 512mb of ram or 768mb of ram. The only phone I know so far that actually has 1gb of ram is the htc evo 3d.

What ram does is determine how many apps your phone can run before it starts lagging from too many apps running in the background.

Iphone 4 or Android Phones? Help?
Q. When the first Ipod Touch came out I bought one and fell in love with it, the app store, user interface and so easy to use for me, Now I own an Iphone 4 for almost a year now and its the best, I've even jailbroken it to my liking and its thousand times better. I was planning on purchasing some sort of android phone, like the Samsung Galaxy S II or HTC Evo 3D. I really like android phones but I'm afraid that I'll regret it and miss my Iphone since I'm so used to it, any advice from someone who owns an android and an Iphone and can give me the differences?

I bricked my android phone after I install Chainfire 3d.?

Q. Hello I have a lenovo a516 running on Jelly Bean. After I installed chainfire 3d my phone is stuck on the boot screen. I tried to wipe/Factory reset but it didnt work. I saw in the description that the chainfire was not compatible on jellybean but it was all too late. Do you have any ideas how to unbrick my phone? any answer that will fix my phone will be chosen as Best Answer.

A. 1. Start your phone into recovery mode

2. Plug in your phone via USB cord to your computer.

3. Once you have adb opened in command prompt, type "su" (without quotes) to gain superuser access. I hope you know how to install and get into the adb stuff.

4. After that, you type "cd /system/lib" (Without quotes)

5. Then you type "cf3d_uninstall.sh" (without quotes)

Your phone should reboot back to exactly like it was before. All your files, apps, etc. will all be there. Now it is
time for you to uninstall chainfire 3d app so you never have to worry about it.

Making 3D stuff for Android phones?
Q. Hi! My coworker is currently studying Java and we are planning to make a 3D live wallpaper. Now I'm wondering what programs can be used, what kind of file extenstion and what settings? I have some experience with Cinema4D and a little using Google Sketch. I assume they are usable, but looking for more info, since it seems hard to find decent information for beginners.

A. I personally think it is easier to just implement a custom file format and then write a plugin that exports your Cinema4D scene to that custom file format. If you don't want to write a plugin you can also go through an intermediate format like COLLADA (.DAE) or FBX. This way you can easily support a multitude of 3D packages - many support COLLADA and FBX now - with just a single tool. In the worst case you can also load your models from a COLLADA file in your app, although COLLADA isn't really the best choice for this task.

Anyway, you are responsible for loading the data from file and putting them into the appropriate place. You decide what layout your data should have.

Android phone photo help?

Q. My phone is an android phone. It have that 3D gallery app pre-installed in it. I was hoping someone could help me because i wanna orginize my photos into groups/folders. Do you know any apps that i could get that are free? Because i don't want to have to go through my phone files on the computer and make new folders. So do you know any good ones? I have already tried "Photo Gallery (Fish Bowl)" , "phorginizer" and "F-stop media gallery"
Thanks :)

A. I first want to admit my bias for F-Stop Media Gallery since I am the owner of Seelye Engineering (the maker of F-Stop). With that said, F-Stop Media Gallery is far and away the best media organizer on Android. Organization can be accomplished using folders, tags, ratings, albums, and smart albums.

F-Stop currently allows you to group your images in folders but takes the traditional route by displaying only the folder that contains the media -- not the folder structure. We will soon have the feature of being able to browse your content and still maintain the folder structure (which is what I think you are describing).

We are working on this app full-time and are continually adding new features and improvements. Until then, consider using tags for your media and then use albums and smart albums to create the organization you need. We just added the feature "Nested Albums" which allows you to create albums inside of albums (similar to a folder structure). This is a paid feature but very powerful.

Please contact us at support@fstopapp.com if you need any help.

Regards,
Jason Seelye

How do I update my Evo 3D Android phone?
Q. I have an Evo 3D and it is using 2.3.1. When I go into settings and check the firmware there is a button that says check for updates. When I click that, it thinks for a few seconds and says there are no updates. How do I update to Ice Cream Sandwich? :/
I should be able to do it according to this - http://support.sprint.com/support/article/Find_and_update_the_software_version_on_your_HTC_EVO_3D/case-wh164052-20110615-165550?INTNAV=SU:DP:MVT

How to take an internal picture on my phone?

Q. I have an Evo 3D android phone for Sprint and i accidentally took a screenshot but i dont know how. HELP!

A. Take the picture on your phone via visiting the camera section and then, pressing the cam button....

Good luck!

Is there an android phone that would fit an iphone case?
Q. I know this seems kinda weird. But I love love love some of the iphone cases. Like the cute ones that stand up and look like sitch, and hello kitty, and the alien from toy story. The 3D cases. But I REALLY don't care for Iphone's. I like the android system and everything. Well, I need a new phone now and I was just wondering if there's any android phones that would fit in an Iphone case. Not even exactly Iphone clones(cause I've looked at some of them), but just phones that happen to fit the cases?

A. Nope cases are specifically made for one phone and one phone only.

What is the usual file size of Android games?

Q. I'm planning to buy an Android phone. It has a small internal memory, so I'm trying to find out how many games I can install. I need to know the usual size of an Android game (the game not the installer). Also, how large are HD games like the ones from Gameloft?

A. 3D "HD" games are often 50MB installers, but take up up to 70MB once fully installed. Not many games take this much, Angry Birds Space is 28MB, Facebook is 12MB, but out of 125 apps on my phone, 100 of them are under 10MB. You can also find substitutes for some apps, like FBM is a Facebook replacement that uses the mobile web version, and it is a 600KB download.

Is there a way to make a game on an android phone?
Q. Is there an application on an android phone that allows you to program or create a video game. I don't care if its 2D or 3D. Thanks.

Will the Sony SmartWatch sync with any android phone?
Q. I'm about to get a Sony SmartWatch and I was wondering will it pair with any android phone? Like not just Sony smart phones?

A. The Good

Great looks, not too thick.
Elegant in its simplicity.
It vibrates when alerts, calls, texts, or other notifications are received.
Comes with a black watchband and an adapter to use on any watchband. Colorful watchbands are also available from Sony.
Battery lasts at least 2 or 3 days.
You can send a call to voicemail with a tap.
You can send pre-canned text messages to specific recipients right from the watch.
LiveWare Manager is a good centralized location for setting up the watch. no need to work on the watch’s small screen to set things up.
Extensible architecture for apps and widgets could be promising if developers start making cool apps and widgets.
The Bad
By far the top negative thing about the watch for me is the spotty Bluetooth connectivity. Keep in mind that I have only tested this on my HTC Evo 3D and it may work much more solidly on other devices. I’ve read other reviews that mention it’s solid on their phones.
Screen sensitivity seems a bit off. Sometimes I have to touch twice before the touch is acknowledged. Some of this could have to do with the spotty Bluetooth since the watch tends to freeze a bit during connection handshakes. But the two-finger touch gesture always seems more reliable as a pinch.
Not many apps yet. Hopefully this will get better over time, but I think I have 95% of the free SmartWatch apps installed already and I only have 21 apps installed.
Watch is useless without a phone. Sure, the time will stay set if you get disconnected, but if you reboot the watch, it loses everything and needs to be synced up again with a phone.
Gone are the days of simply glancing at your wrist to get the time. You have to hit the button to turn the screen on to see the time. I understand this is a battery saving technique, but it would be nice to have some sort of low power mode where the time is always visible.
General bugginess and crashing. Sometimes launching an app crashes the watch and it reboots itself. Or worse yet, it will freeze and you have to manually reboot it by holding down the power button. This is still a work in progress. Future firmware updates could stabilize things, as could updates to specific misbehaving apps.
Conclusion
Well, with everything I’ve had to say about the Sony SmartWatch, you might think it’s not very smart at all. To a degree, I would agree with you. There’s really no smarts on the watch itself. All the heavy lifting is done by your phone. And with the occasional crash and unreliable Bluetooth, it does sometimes feel like it’s a beta product.

But am I happy with it? Well, for me, I’d generally say yes. It’s a step in the right direction and perfect for gadget freaks and early adopters like me to play around with. I would have to say, however, that it’s not ready for prime time mainstream use. Too many little glitches for a “normal” person to put up with.

I’m glad I took advantage of the deal Expansys had on the watch for $118 shipped. Now it’s back up to $148.99, which I think is really a bit too high for a watch that’s not fully baked yet.

My bottom line: Gadget freaks and early adopters only.

Q. I want to learn 3D game development for variety of platforms like iphone, wii, PS3, Xbox, desktop, android phones, etc. Now, lets say i wish to do it with Unity3D, so what programming languages i need to learn for that?
