Q. When my daughter calls and says she is at the library I would like to check for safety's sake but don't want her to know that I am checking. Trying to trust her but I'm still the mom.

A. there are many!

Glympse is one..... Google SociaL Location is another... both your android phone and her android phone must have the same app installed.

or you can call your wireless carrier for the child restriction and safety feature for $X.XX month.. so you can track her via a computer website

how can u set your android phone so that your kids cant delete apps and do purchases?

Q. i used to have an iphone and i was able to set it up to where my 3 year old daughter is not able to delete apps and purchase anything unless i reset the settings. i just got the samsung galax2 2 and so far i can not see where u can set restrictions on this phone. do i need to download an app for it? i downloaded an app called parental control but this only restricts what applications they cant use but lets them delete and rearrange my apps n widgets. any suggestions? i let my kid play educational games on my phone thats the main reason i let her use it.

A. I dont think you can... but its a bit more difficult to remove apps on android, so this wasn't really a problem for me.

and since your new to android, here are some good apps.

How do I put ONLY WHAT MUSIC I WANT or a playlist from my music library onto my samsung android phone?

Q. Ok so here is my problemI have over 700 songs on my computer and they are all from my family's different styles and taste. 2 teens, myself, and my husband. I have created playlist or saved playlist with just my stuff in a group,1 child's stuff in a group and the other's in another, and my husband's. I have managed to put just what I wanted to on a flashdrive for my Tahoe, and also on a sd card. But we all have samsung android phones,a rugby pro,2 s3's,and a note 2. But everytime I connect 1 of the phones to the computer and try to transfer that certain playlist to that certain phone it doesn't work. Oh yes it goes on the phone but so does every single song in the music library, and then my husband fusses about having the kids hip hop on his phone or the kids fuss about having his country on theirs. Is there a way to transfer the playlist, without having to copy and transfer each song again individually?
you can not,or rather I have not found a way to transfer the play list to each phone. But you can copy a album and transfer to each phone but not playlist. I did however find a app that I had to download software on my computer and the app on each phone and use my itunes and transfer the playlist to itunes then create a playlist in itunes then transfer that playlist to 1 phone but this is alot of extra trouble.

A. Transfer the playlists from the computer to the individual phones.

What does it take to make android apps for the android market?
Q. I'm a 16 year old boy who is interested and inspired by another kid who is 14 and made an iphone app. So far he has made millions on his apps. I wanna create some apps and I figured the android market would probably be easiest way. What does it take to develop apps. Also would it help if I had an android phone?

A. Before going further, please note that you'll have to pay 25USD for a Google developer account in order to publish apps for the Android Market. For the iPhone AppStore (iTunes), it's even more expensive, 99$ a year minimum I think.

Now for your question:

The most easy way to develop an Android app is through the Google (Android) AppInventor since you virtually "draw" the application and graphically organize its actions and the dependencies between the screens. It's kind of like in Visual Basic if you know that already. Anyway, even if you have no experience, AppInventor is really a good way to start, it includes an emulator, and it's free of course. However, in order to package it in an .apk (to run it on a phone) or to publish on the market, it's not a straightforward step but it's possible anyway through PhoneGap for instance.

Further step would be using JavaScript programming through a platform like Appcelerator Titanium. They have developed a bridge between JavaScript and both Obj-C (iOS: iPhone/iPad) and Java (Android). So the good thing, is once you compile the app, it's usable for both iPhone/iPad and Android phones/tablets. Titanium includes emulators for all those platforms. In addition, it allows to package even for MacOS X (Apple computers) but you have to pay something for Apple, again.

Unless you already know and master Java, in that case go directly with Eclipse IDE and hard code.

How can I unlock my straight talk android phone my kids locked it and now its asking for my gmail email and?

Q. password which i dont have - i totally forgot this info about this phone - pls help ps. ive tried holding down the home=volume up = power button all at the same time doesnt work - took out battery put back in doesnt work - let it charge out still doesnt let me in

A. You should format your phone. If you cannot format it or you have some important information stored in your phone memory then you should take it to the mobile repairing centre and ask them to fix it. Or you should try to recover you Gmail password and then unlock your phone as it is said in the above answer.

What are some fun apps and games for android?
Q. What are some fun FREE games and apps for an android phone? Also if you could, explain what they are.

A. There are lots of free games out there. Depending on what type you like to play...arcade, puzzle, racing. Being little more specific in your questions will help too. Try Angry Birds, you grab a bird, fling it across screen, and hope to land on the bad guys (pigs). Bubble Blast 2 is a puzzle game in which you burst bubbles to trigger a chain reaction in order to eliminate them. My kids like Raging Thunder, free and paid version. You can tilt you phone to steer...check out https://market.android.com/ you can view free and paid apps there.

I am s frustrated with this stupid kids tablet?

Q. I have a android kids tablet, it was cheaper. I just want Facebook and twitter! I tried getting the app online from google play, but I had to make an account so i did. I try to download the app, but it says there are no devices connected. What the fuck do I do.

A. Ok first you said it was a android so use the android market, if the tablet is updated use the play store,
The only reason why it says no devices connected was because you just cant download games from a website unless its a adk, but google play dont do that, so for you to download games from the browser connect it with the app play store or android market and sign in there and your device will be with your android device, It with download via internet i think im not for sure and you will need to have the phone on internet, also if the tablet does not have google play and its not supported you might have bad graphics playing it because cheap tablets are android but use a diferent marketplace
