Question on purchasing a Verizon Samsung i910 Omnia Touch Smart Cell Phone?

Q. I was wondering if this phone was decent? Worst phone you've ever had? I'm wanting to buy it and would like to hear opinions from some who own/have owned it.

----------- Android has 4 USB settings... PC mode/suite (NEVER USE IT!), Windows Media SYNC, (NEVER USE IT), Mass storage mode, and Charge mode... When you first plug it in for the first time, you'll see a usb icon appear... go to notification bar on top... swing down... click the icon... you should be in Mass storage mode... if not, select it... Now, the phone will auto install drivers onto your pc... this will take about 5-15 minutes depending on your PC LOL... Take a break!..... Now, you should be cool... to sync your mp3s, you can do it 2 ways... I use Windows Media player... Let WMP sync to the phone.... the phone should appear in the upper right corner of WMP, go to sync tab.... now hit sync... depending on you library size, this can take a long time... Mine took 45 minutes (about 600 songs) LOL.... OR, if you tech savy, find your mp3s on yoru PC/laptop... copy all... go to My computer... your'll see your phone listed as a extra jump drive (mass storage mode)... open it... go to music folder... if its not there, make a folder called "Music". and paste all there!!!!!!!!! Do the same with your pictures... but paste in Picture folder... same with videos... but in Video folder... or let WMP do it all............. after that, disconnect from PC/laptop... powercycle phone for good measure.... open PowerAMP or stock music mp3 player... and enjoy! iPhone vs Android quick help?

Q. I bought an iPhone early December of 2011. First iPhone i've ever had, I always went to androids for upgrades or something like that. I have my old HTC Evo 4g i had before i bought an iphone, recently I have been messing around with the evo and noticed a few things.. like how the screen/phone is bigger, you can do more custom things with the android. i'm stuck because i don't know if i should go back to the evo because i feel like i miss it, and i've heard like your personallity either an "apple or android" person, and i'm in between. (I have sprint too) If i swap them will it change anything on the plan? Would it charge if i went to it then in a few days go back? Is it bad that i miss my android? i'm more of like an electronic person, i don't know how to explain it (lol). What do you think is better? Android or iPhone? I guess my main question is if I should go back to it and if it will change anything on my plan. I already have the extra 10$ a month for data because I guess all smartphones need it.

A. Android all the way.
Unless you want Apple to dictate what you can and cant do on the phone and charge you extra for the privilege.
Android has flash player, more free apps, more developers, more media support, more customization, more freedom and defiantly better internet experience.
If you have taken an upgrade, your plan wont change unless you send the phone back in the returns period.

PS. Apple is a brand. Most people choose apple because of the name. People who research what they are looking for tend to pick Android.

How could the iPhone 5 be better than the HTC Sensation or Samsung Galaxy 2?

Q. With all these amazing Android phones, why are people still so crazy about the latest and greatest iPhone? It is not a 4G phone. You can't replace the battery on those things, so if they fail then so does the phone. You cannot do nearly as much customization as you can on Android phones. HTC phones have such amazing quality, IMHO. Do people like iPhones just because they're supposedly "trendy?"

Or are they really spectacular and I'm totally missing their Wow factor?

Should I get an iPhone 4 or Samsung Infuse 4G?

Q. I know lots of people with iPhones, plus I have an iPod Touch which is kind of like an iPhone so Im very familiar with them, but ive never used an Infuse 4G or any Android phone. Is it any better? Is it worth buying? What are the pros and cons of it compared to an iPhone?

A. Get the galaxy tab, there already working on �ice cream sandwich� (android 4.0), which will unite all android Smartphone�s and tablets.

I prefer android over apple for the reason that its open-source, that means that the majority of the apps are free, and you get more revolutionary and cutting edge apps. And do things are even only barely available on a jail broken iphone
The android market already has 250000(only 300 specifically for tablet) apps- closing in on apple 500000; some say it will surpass it before the year is over. Also any popular ipad game or game adaptation can be found in the android market for free.
Another great thing about android as that if you dont like something (keyboard, homescreen, etc.) it can easily be swapped without jail-breaking, unlike the ipads one-size-fits-all approach.

Also apple never invents anything, there never �the first�. All they do is steal old technology, give it a fresh coat of paint and mass advertise it as �magical� and �innovating�, thus fooling the mass of the population into believing that apple offers cutting edge technology, that in fact has been around for quite a few years.

Should I get an iPhone 4 or Samsung Infuse 4G?

Why do I secretly judge people that have Androids?

Q. The user interface of Androids is just so poorly organized and needlessly clumsy. I just feel like people that would voluntarily get an Android over an iPhone (given that they can afford both) are just kinda dumb.

The smartphone is large and actually slightly thicker and heavier than the Evo, but it's manageable and the tapered back and soft-touch finish make it comfortable to hold in the hand. As we've come to expect from HTC, the phone is solidly built and has a nice, premium feel to it.

On front, you've got the same 4.3-inch WVGA (800x480 pixels) touch screen as the Evo. There are higher-resolution displays out there, like those on the Motorola Atrix 4G or iPhone 4, but the ThunderBolt's screen still holds up, with clear and bright picture quality. Text was easy to read, and Web pages and video looked lovely on the large screen.

The touch screen is also responsive. Apps launched as we tapped them, and we were able to smoothly navigate through the home screens and menus. The display also features a proximity sensor and built-in accelerometer, which was quick to change screen orientation when we rotated the phone.

The front-facing camera sits right above the screen on the right; below the display are the home, menu, back, and search navigation buttons. Meanwhile, the 8-megapixel camera and flash are located on back, but we really wish there was a dedicated camera button on the phone. Instead, you'll have to use the touch screen to snap photos.

On the bright side, the ThunderBolt has a sturdy kickstand so you can prop the phone on a desk to watch videos, conduct speakerphone calls, and the like. There's a Micro-USB port on the left side, and a volume rocker occupies the right side. Finally, on top of the device, you'll find a power/lock button and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The HTC ThunderBolt comes packaged with an AC adapter, a USB cable, a preinstalled 32GB microSD card, and reference material.

Given the impressive results we got using Verizon's LG VL600 LTE USB modem, you'd think we'd be a little more prepared for what we experienced on the ThunderBolt, but we were still blown away by what we saw. It's fast. Real fast.

Running Ookla's Speedtest.net app on the handset yielded some erratic and suspicious results (upload speeds were registering up to 39.79Mbps), so we also measured speeds using the phone as a mobile hot spot and as a tethered modem. With the ThunderBolt connected to our MacBook Pro as a mobile hot spot here in New York, we were able to get average download speeds of 7.41Mbps and upload speeds of 6.56Mbps.

By comparison, the HTC Evo 4G from Sprint averaged 3.42Mbps down and 0.93Mpbs up; the Samsung Galaxy S 4G on T-Mobile averaged 4.17Mbps down and 1.68Mbps up; and the HTC Inspire 4G on AT&T averaged 1.75Mbps down and 0.31Mbps up.

We got even better results when we had the ThunderBolt tethered to our Lenovo T61 ThinkPad. We averaged download speeds of 15.58Mbps and upload speeds of 3.44Mbps.

Why do I secretly judge people that have Androids?

Q. The user interface of Androids is just so poorly organized and needlessly clumsy. I just feel like people that would voluntarily get an Android over an iPhone (given that they can afford both) are just kinda dumb.


Why do I do this? Is it bad? I can't be the only person that acknowledges the Android operating system straight up sucks, right?

Does android market ever become as good as app store?

Q. Seeing the appstore is older there are much more apps and they're also better and more fun.. do you think android phones will ever have a market as good as the app store?

A. android phones have acquired 30% of the market but nowhere close to iphone. Iphone has a first movers advantage and the device is extremely user friendly. This one big advantage eclipses all the negatives and that's what Mr. Steve goes by. secondly, the iphones are coming to verizon in jan, 2011. That means the droid phones will be in dust again. A clever move by apple.

You can't replace the battery on those things, so if they fail then so does the phone. You cannot do nearly as much customization as you can on Android phones. The funny thing is that apple can�t sue for being the first touchscreen or tablet, because they weren�t,(Nokia fist touch screen, �archos� first tablet) so instead they sue for much more relevant things like, �the rounded icon corners� and �having a flat screen� or �the square shape of the phone���..

According to Steve jobs, these "revolutionary" new technologies that android users had since 2007 will be available on IOS5, and it would not surprise me to see some more android features from 2008 on IOS6.But the truly sad part is that due to apples marketing, in a few months, apple lovers will really think that apple invented those features and call android the copycats�yet again.

Will virgin mobile usa get any new android phones for christmas 2011? ?

Q. I have the samsung intercept (which btw worst phone ever).........and I don't like the design of the motorola triumph so I'm holding out until vmusa gets better phones.

A. For any new phones coming out soon for the USA market with their monthly plan to my knowledge is no. The last phone to come out was the HTC Wildfire S a couple weeks ago. Rumors of more phones point to no more phones until February or later 2012. You never know what a company is up to though........

A. Um no. These rumors come around every year, and every year, no Verizon iPhone. Just because there�s a rumor of a CDMA iPhone, everyone automatically assumes that it�s going to Verizon, as if Verizon has the only CDMA network in the world. Well, news flash- Sprint uses CDMA too, and so do over 40 other countries in the world. Verizon didnt want it when Apple came to them first back in 2006 and they dont want it now. Why would they, when any Android phone crushes the iDont any day of the week, and Android is already selling more phones than Apple anyways?? Plus, ATT knows that without the iPhone, they have nothing, so they will pay Apple as much as they want in order to keep it. Why would you ever want such a horrible phone?

Neither Verizon nor Apple have officially announced anything, so Walmart definitely has no idea what they're talking about...

When you have a At&T android phone dose it cost extra to download the apps from android market and use them?

A. it depends, some apps you have to pay for, but you dont have to pay to download them- they only use data from your data plan which you pay for. (but you can use wifi instead).
and no you don't have to pay to use them, that is unless their online/multiplayer games, but the again you can just use wifi

I prefer android over apple for the reason that its open-source, that means that the majority of the apps are free, and you get more revolutionary and cutting edge apps. And do things are even only barely available on a jail broken iphone
The android market already has 250000 apps- closing in on apple 500000; some say it will surpass it before the year is over. Also any popular iphone game or game adaptation can be found in the android market for free.
Another great thing about android as that if you dont like something (keyboard, homescreen, etc.) it can easily be swapped without jail-breaking, unlike the iphones one-size-fits-all approach.

Security
Both Iphone and android offer equal security, though they have different means of doing it.
iphone, verifies all the apps so you can�t get a virus through an app, but the rest of the phone is semi-vulnerable.
Android does not check the apps, but the apps are run in an isolated way, as to not affect the system in event of a virus.
So both phones are equally prone to viruses (and if this a big deal for you, android has a antivirus app, which iphone does not)

Apple lovers that say that the iphone is made of better quality material? They don�t realize that Samsung, an android phone maker, supply�s the screen, processor and memory for apple devices, so android has the advantage here.

The iphone is pretty, but not durable, drop it once- it breaks, all that glass around it? That was honestly a mistake. Android manufactures clearly saw that, and decided to do with something a little more durable.

Also apple never invents anything, all they do is steal old technology, give it a fresh coat of paint and mass advertise it as �magical� and �innovating�, thus fooling the mass of the population into believing that apple offers cutting edge technology, that in fact has been around for quite a few years. So instead of innovating, apple actually hinders technology- after 4 years they still have low-power single core phones, while android, an example of technology in overdrive, has rumored that, after their second year, the release of quad core phones that will surpass even some desktop computers in shear processing power.

Also if you�ve seen apples 2011 presentation, they blatantly copied over five "new" features that were previously on android.

2. Twitter integration
3. No need to connect to PC to sync
4. Launch apps from lock screen
5. Tabbed browsing

And not only are they copies, but apple didn�t even bother to improve, or change some of them in any way- some even have LESS features than their android counter parts, it�s basically a cheap imitation with the ever-popular iphone skin.
According to Steve jobs, these "revolutionary" new technologies that android users had since 2007 will be available on IOS5, and it would not surprise me to see some more android features from 2008 on IOS6.But the truly sad part is that due to apples marketing, in a few months, apple lovers will really think that apple invented those features and call android the copycats�yet again.

Why do I secretly judge people that have Androids?

Q. The user interface of Androids is just so poorly organized and needlessly clumsy. I just feel like people that would voluntarily get an Android over an iPhone (given that they can afford both) are just kinda dumb.


Why do I do this? Is it bad? I can't be the only person that acknowledges the Android operating system straight up sucks, right?

IOS breaches many of Nokias patents so much so that Apple conceded defeat to NOKIA ..... and APPLE PAYS NOKIA ROYALTIES for each device that use IOS (every device sold! since iPhone)

IOS is NOKIA, all, all APPLE have to do to avoid paying Nokia royalties is to make an OS that Nokia did not design
