So. i don't understand. pls help?

A. f you have a Google Gmail account set up on your Android phone, you can use your account information along with Google Calendar Sync to synchronize Microsoft Outlook Calendar. You'll need to download and install the free software application on a Windows computer. Currently, Microsoft Outlook versions 2003, 2007 and 2010 are compatible with Google Calendar Sync. Check to make certain that your Microsoft Outlook version, and Windows computer are compatible with Google Calendar Sync.
1,Turn off any syncing applications that you have synced to Microsoft Outlook Calendar on your computer.
2.Open your Web browser. Type the following URL address in the search field and press the "Search" button.
3.Click the "Save File" button when the pop-up box appears on your desktop. Double-click on the Google Calendar Sync installer icon and follow Windows' installation instructions.
4.Double-click on the Google Calendar Sync icon to launch the application, if it doesn't automatically open.
5.Open the Web browser on your Android phone. Type the URL address, "google.com/calendar" in the search field. Click the "Search" button.
6.Type your Gmail email address in the "Email" field. Enter your password in the "Password" field. Click the radio button next to "2-way" to sync Google Calendar Sync with Microsoft Outlook Calendar. Enter a number in the blank "Sync every ..." minutes field to set the sync interval minutes. Click the "Save" button.
7.Check the lower-right side of the taskbar on your computer. Right-click on the Google Calendar Sync icon. A drop-down menu will appear on your desktop with the following options, "Sync", "Stop Sync", "Options", and "Exit".
8.Select the "Sync" option from the drop-down menu. Google Calendar Sync and Microsoft Outlook Calendar will automatically start synchronizing your events information.
9.Go to the Home screen on your Android phone and press the "Menu" button. Click the "Accounts" button. Select your Gmail email account from the listing. Click the "Sync Calendar" button.

Should I buy an Android or iOS Phone?

Q. I am in the market for a new smartphone, and I am unsure if I should buy an iOS or Android device. Don't get me wrong, I know enough about technology and all, but I have been a common user of iOS currently, and have little to no idea of the long-term benefits of Android. If an iPhone should I wait for the 5, because of the unveiling of iOS 5? If an Android is it really worth it to buy a 4G phone? If an Android is Motoblur, HTC Sense, or Touchwiz the overall best skin for Android?

What other Programming langauges should I learn?

Q. The CS Department at Hunter teaches C++ so I am getting a head start by self teaching until I spring when I start school. I already plan on learning Objective C to create apps for apple devices.

I would like to learn how to make apps for android phones. I read somewhere that Java is best for phone apps. Is this true?

As of right now I would like to be a software developer.

A. Study C++ a lil more first. C++ can generally make any type of application when you think about it. Gain an advanced in the field first then try something else. the goal isn't to learn more than one language. the goal is to be able to work comfortably in the language you use. By learning C++ you put yourself in the driver seat to learn quite a bit more programming concepts. because there are certain concepts that's the same for most programs..

for example if you program in object style:

C++
Java
Visual Basic .net(2010 included)
PHP
etc.

so concepts you learn in one language you can take onto another language.

Why does Telus continue to screw their customers by not providing high end phones?
Q. I just heard that Bell is getting the Atrix!! I don't understand why Telus can't see that many people are switching to other carriers because of the lack of high end phones being provided. It seems to me that telus focuses more on crappy phones cause their target are students. What about the rest of us who want a good android phone as soon as it comes out just like Bell and Rogers have been doing lately? Anyone???? I'm so frustrated!!!!

A. The HTC Desire HD is coming to Telus within the next 2 weeks. The HTC Desire they have now is a VERY powerful phone. Its also only 6 months old, and if you look @ Techradars top 15 devices of 2010, the Desire is #1. its a great phone. Superb build quality and HTC sense is great. Expect nothing less from the Desire HD too.

There is no other phone like the Atrix right now. So yeah, no other carrier is going to have it.

BUT, fret not. AT&T, Telus, Rogers and Bell all use the exact SAME frequencies. You could always buy an atrix outright, unlock it (Code costs between 15-20 bucks online), and then just insert your SIM card.

Problem solved :)

will the android phones be able to upgrade to the 4g network?

Q. i just got the HTC droid incredible with verizon, and i was wondering if, once verizon gets the 4g network, with there be a mass android phone upgrade that will upgrade all the android phones to the 4G network? i know that there was an update that gave the droid the pinch feature for making screens bigger. So will there be an upgrade that does this?

A. No, how it works is for the phone to be able to utilize said connection of 4G, it requires certain hardware similar to how some computers are not able to access wireless, they need a hardware chip and can't just simply install a program/set it up. Which is why Sprint only has the Evo able to use 4G and why the others can't due to not being a software upgradeable compatibility but a hardware requirement able to use the signal.

An example is T Mobile's HSPA+ rollout. T Mobile is rolling out HSPA+ a 3G network with enhanced speeds fast as and faster than Sprint's 4G, although their devices are able to receive a boost because it is still 3G, the hardware is not capable of utilizing the full power, therefore the need for an HSPA+ device to show off their network which is where the HTC Vanguard/Vision comes in with the hardware capability - soon to be released this summer stated by T Mobile via Twitter feed, although thought to be October/November.

So you will need a new cell phone for 4G, and even then it has to be in your area, I recommend mid 2011 since it's planned to roll out end of 2010/ beginning of 2011 I believe.

Is there a good free Office Communicator App for Android?
Q. I have an iPhone 4 and I found an app called "Fuze Messenger" that works perfectly for Office Communicator and is free. However, my boss downloaded a couple of different apps for his Android phone (Dell Streak) and they didn't work.

Does anyone know of a good free or cheap (preferably free) app that will let him connect to Office Communicator on his Android phone?

A. Try office talk, it works great for me.

How can I install Android on a Windows Mobile phone?

Q. I have a couple Windows Mobile phones hanging around, one is an HTC Shadow, the other is a Samsung Blackjack II. I also have a Nokia E73 running Symbian s60. I would like an Android phone as I am blind and would love the built in accessibility. Is there a way to install Android on a phone that is running Windows Mobile so I can use it? Thanks to anyone who can help!

A. its possible, but it will void the warranty, take away any chance of putting the phones back into a network if they aren't already on on

How would you rate the Samsung Transform. Do you recommend a different sprint phone?
Q. Can is do video chat?
How is the video chat?
Does it ever freeze?
On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate it?
Have you had any problems with it?
Would you recommend a different Spring Android phone instead?
Is the GPS good?

A. The phone is not so great. As a matter of fact, Sprint in general is not so great. The front facing camera is almost useless. The only video chat app that somewhat works is Tango. There is a huge lag time w/ video and you cannot hear because there's a loud electronic feedback sound that doesn't stop. Yes it freezes. There's a problem where sometimes the phone is unresponsive to touch (can't answer phone calls, or do anything). The GPS/Navigation has been pretty good so far. Sprint had promised an Android 2.2 update before the end of 2010...the update is still not available. Froyo may solve some of the problems us Transform owners are experiencing. Seems like the EVO 4g is the best phone sprint has going, but you have to pay an extra $10/ month to have a 4g phone whether or not you can get 4g service.
