How to unlock android galaxy?

Q.

A. There is several bits of software out there, however often this type of software is riddled with viruses and even keyloggers. My suggestion is to take it to a local phone shop who will usually do it for around £30

Keylogger on my computer?
Q. I believe I have a keylogger on my computer and it's really getting scary. My gmail account kept warning me that people from different countries were accessing my account (China IP addresses) so I set it up so gmail sends me a text msg with a code you have to punch in to log on my gmail account and set my own PC as the only trusted computer. Afterwards I changed my gmail account from my android smart phone just incase there was a keylogger on the PC. I can't tell if anybody is still accessing my email. I'm not getting warnings anymore but my phone gets random texts from google all the time and I hadn't tried to log into my account so I figured it was someone else. But I assumed they weren't able to get in cause of the text msg authentication. My WoW account was recently hacked and that's why I went through and changed my gmail account to send the text in the first place. Today I went through the process of calling up blizzard and having my account restored and about an hour after everything got fixed I got another email saying my password was changed and 10 minutes after that another email saying they suspect my account was compromised again and they temporarily deactivated the account to prevent unauthorized use.

I have no idea how this is happening. So far thankfully it only seems to be my email and WoW account being affected. Nothing has happened to my credit card or online banking. Not even any of the other MMO's that I occasionally play. I've updated/scanned with Avast AntiVirus Malware Bytes and Spybot S&D. I also used Bitdefender free online virus scanner. Avast Malware and Bitdefender all found nothing. Spybot found a couple things but nothing that seemed serious. Does anyone have any idea how I could get rid of this? I'm working on backing up everything I need to a 1tb external HD and preparing for the worst (Formatting HD) but would like to avoid that if I can.

Another quick question. I currently have a 1tb HD in my comp and a second 370gb I use for mostly music/movies. If I format my main 1tb drive and reinstall fresh OS on it am I going to be completely safe? Is there any chance that the keylogger is stored on the 2nd hard drive and could resurface after a fresh install?

Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for any help.

A. First, you've got a good base of malware/spyware programs there. Also get superantispyware.

Install SAS, then reboot in Safe Mode by pressing F8 during the initial splash screen. Once in Safe Mode, choose with Networking.

Now, update SAS. MBAM, BD, SB and run each of them.

Can you hack android phone to higher android version?

Q. i have a htc desire that has android 2.2,i want to test usbManager api,but it says that it needs at least api level 12,and mine is 8.so can i somehow hack my phone to a for example android 3.2 so i can use this feature?
i dont want to just upgrade my 2.2 android to 3.2 and cant use that feature,i mean does just upgrading the phone make that feature available?

A. its called rooting your phone i wont root mine but from what i hear its pretty sweet when you do, but there is no android 3.2 for android phones android 3.0 is for tablets android 2.3 is for phones, but as for upgrading to a version not yet for your phone you have to root it there are tons of videos on youtube that show you how or just google it.

What are the system requirements for Android update?
Q. I am thinking about buying a refurbished Android smartphone and it has an old Android OS. Where can I check for the system requirements for the different Android OS versions?

A. With all the different android operating systems. Here is what you need to know.

Android 2.2 (Called Froyo. The oldest of the android operating system).
Android 2.3 (operating system. called Gingerbread. Supports Adobe flash).
Android 3.0 (only for tablets, usually 7 to 10 inches. Called Honeycomb)
Android 4.0 (only on Nexus cell phone and the newest tablets. Called Ice cream)

* For cell phones, I would recommend getting Android 2.3. Make sure that it is running Android 2.3 or Gingerbread. I would say 90 percent of the cell phones already have Gingerbread running on the android cell phones.

Should I sell my Smart Phone?

Q. Is it a good idea to sell a Symbian Belle Smartphone worth Rs 15000 (6 months old) for an Android 4.0 Smartphone worth Rs 6500 INR. I wanna know if features really outweigh money? I mean, is it better to have a phone that costs Rs 15000 INR, does all the basic stuff I need or a phone that does everything (basic + what Symbian can’t do) and costs less than Rs 7000 INR.
I’m talking about Nokia 701 and Micromax A89 Ninja. Should I get it selling off my Nokia 701 or keep my 701 cuz of the Price Factor (its higher priced and I’m really conscious about it).

I’ll have to compromise on lot of stuff if I get the A89, like Build Quality (currently dust gets under the display of my Nokia 701 though), Brand Factor (you know how people are conscious about brands these days), Camera Quality (I know Micromax really sucks in this category), etc.

So my main motives behind selling off my Nokia 701 are-
- Its Symbian (lack of Apps)
- Its has smaller display (3.5’’ vs 4’’ on A89)
- Dust gets under the Display (Repaired it twice, but no success)

And my motives behind getting A89 are-
- Its Android
- Larger Screen

And the reasons that are holding me off from getting A89 are-
- Its lower Priced
- I’ve to ignore the camera as if it never existed (very poor quality compared to Nokia 701)
- Brand Status, Micromax vs Nokia
- Customer Support

I’ll get no more than Rs 9000 INR selling off my Nokia 701 so my Budget is Rs 9000 INR (I cannot extend my budget). What should I do? What have you done if you were in place of me? Any Suggestions? Thanks in Advance for your answers.

A. I dont know why you think Symbian lacks apps. There's a lot on ovi store and other third party app sites; and since newer symbian os has backward compatibility, there's millions of apps from the beginning of symbian that you can use.

Unlike Symbian, its easier to create apps for Android and hence every Tom Dick and Harry have an android app. Most of these apps are just useless and is only an "ad-carrier" created for developers to make money from ads shown thru apps. So you need to come up with a list of apps that you probably need and then check the availability of the same with Symbian, iOS, Android and Windows and then decide for yourself which OS you want to go for.

For picking a mobile, your current selection of Micromax is not a good choice. I would have recommended that phone if you are just looking to buy your first smartphone and with a small budget. But after going thru your reasons for selling the current mobile, I'm sure that Ninja A89 would only disappoint you. If your budget is low, then try to get a used Samsung Galaxy, SE Xperia for Android or iPhone, Nokia Lumia, HTC for other operating systems. You dont have to compromise anything just to get to Android OS.

Oh and btw, 701 wasn't a good phone from Nokia. You could have bought the N8 instead which has better features and build quality. The higher hardware specs of 701 isn't reflected onto end user performance for some reason.

How do I delete the apps on my home screen?

Q. I recently got a new phone from Metro PCS, it's an Android & I want to know how to take out the apps on my home screen. I don't necessarily want to delete them permanently, just take them out of display. Help please?

A. Press on them and an X will be at the bottom of the screen
Drag it there and let go.

Am I the only person that has or wants to have loyalty to a company?
Q. For example I adore Google and have an Android phone, so I would like to challenge the all Apple user persona and use a Chromebook, but find it too under powered and will most likely stick to Windows.

While I haven't personally upgraded since vista, and 7 seems to be preferred, Windows 8, mostly turns me off for having the same tile interface as the Windows phone, and promoting the Xbox marketplace on the home screen. The Windows phone turns me off, for being powerful, but just not having the apps people want, or only getting them after it becomes irrelevant. The Xbox has always been my least favorite system.

Now with e3 I've been thinking more about this. When the wii, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 came out, I was on the side of the wii until close to the end, having a PS2 prior. I liked the fun and innovative approach Nintendo had to their games and controls. I liked games like Brawl, Mario Kart and Galaxy, Twilight Princess, rhythm games, and more "adult games" like No More Heroes. But it seems like most of the best games for wii came out closer to it's launch and not much more came out for it. While I had initially dismissed the idea of "hardcore games" and "hardcore gamers" ,I eventually decided I missed a more traditional experience and bought a PS3, liking what eventually made a good library for the system, Final Fantasy, Infamous, Assassin's Creed, Little Big Planet, LA Noir, Uncharted, and Catherine.

Now with this generation I mostly feel the same way. I like the wii u's innovative controls, and I like fun games, and I don't dismiss things as being "for kids" ,I'm down for really any Mario or Sonic Game. I also think they are getting more "adult" games like recent Assassin's Creed and Batman Arkham games. I also like that a lot of games are coming out for 3DS and wii U, and I'm interested to try Shin Megami Tensei, and the Arkham Game. I'm turned off by the Xbox One not working without internet, but the games I'm interested in for Xbox One and PS4 are the same games: Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, and Metal Gear.

I'm also an aspiring musician. The three big record labels are currently Unviersal, Sony, and Warner Brothers. While I believe Sony to have the worst label, they usually have my second favorite system. If I was on a Sony owned label I'd probably want a Sony phone and console. It just feels a little off to me to be on a Universal/Warner owned/distributed label, with a Microsoft Computer, Android phone, and Sony/Nintendo console.

I just want to know if anyone else gets like this because it seems like the weirdest thing to get OCD about.

A. Good luck getting someone to read that novel.

Help me decide with a gud choice of mobile phone?

Q. Budget: Within 17k INR.
Requirements good cam, battery life & some extent of smart phone functions, internet.
My filtered out choices were: Nokia N8 (Symbian V3, 12mp cam, xenon flash, HDMI video & TV out,16GB built-in) 2. Nokia C7 (Symbian V3, 8mp cam, dual LED flash, TV out, 8 GB built-in) 3. Samsung galaxy ace plus (Android V2.3, 5 MP, Single LED flash, 3 GB built-in).
Pls suggest considering my requirements within or outside my selections.Thanks.

A. the n8 is the best of the three phones u mentioned. I have one and it will meet all ur requirements plus so much more. I have never had any problems with mine, its smooth and fast to run, easy to use, excellent features, well worth having. Here are the official specs

Which phone should I get?
Q. It's out of the htc desire, blackberry bold and nokia n8, or any other phone recommended around the price of those phones. Thnkx

A. It depends on what you're looking for. Out of the three, Android is the best OS, so HTC Desire. But, really, it comes down to what you're looking for. The Samsung Intercept wouldn't be good if you were a photographer. The HTC HD2 wouldn't be good if you don't do much business.

HTC Desire: you want the fastest phone. It gives you very good processor speeds. You want a big bright screen. Perfect for touchscreen users that want the best of the best. US Cellular is it's carrier, so you may want to unlock it for a different carrier.

Nokia N8: you are a photographer, and expect to call and use that thing to take high quality pictures with a 12 MP camera, with Xenon flash (improving the quality). You are familiar with Nokia phones and don't want to buy extra since it is already unlocked.

Blackberry Bold: you compose millions of emails. You are a businessman/businesswoman, and want to write a lot of emails. Again, you still want to have some fun during your break, right?

Whichever is more important, you decide. But it general, the HTC Desire wins.

Why do so many people like instagram?

Q. I waited a very long time to finally get an android phone, and finally download instagram.. and its the biggest piece of **** ever... there is no customization on photos, I've known better editing/sharing websites than this.. all my pictures look like shit
why is it so hyped up?

A. Instagram is a free photo sharing program launched in October 2010 that allows users to take a photo, apply a digital filter to it, and then share it on a variety of social networking services, including Instagram's own.
A distinctive feature confines photos to a square shape, similar to Kodak Instamatic and Polaroid images, in contrast to the 4:3 aspect ratio typically used by mobile device cameras.
Instagram was initially supported on iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch; in April 2012, the company added support for Android camera phones running 2.2 (Froyo) or higher.
It is distributed via the iTunes App Store and Google Play.

What Verizon phone should I get to work in Poland?

Q. I'm going to Poland for 2 weeks. Would love to have my smart phone fully functional. However, my first-gen Motorola Droid will be a brick as it is CDMA-only.

I know there are some "global" Verizon Android phones, but I haven't tried any of them. Anybody have experience with one of the newer, GSM-enabled Droids in Europe? Will the HTC Thunderbolt work in Poland?

Thanks!

A. Ben, do not take any Verizon phones with you to EU. If you need a phone get one of the unlocked 4 band phones from Ebay ($25 or more) and than activate in Poland with one of the providers there. Use prepaid service. Cost from $5, this includes free incoming calls and may be 30 min outgoing plus SIM card and activation..

Can you recommend an Android phone with a keyboard?
Q. I currently have a Motorola Dext (EU version of Motorola Cliq) which I dearly love. But it is starting to show it's age & Motorola refuse to upgrade these past Android 1.5. I know these can be cracked & updated but I couldn't make it work & it's really not worth paying someone to crack such an old phone.

What I Love: Android, large screen, slide out keyboard.
What I hate: Crap battery life, No updates & therefore poor app compatibility

What I would really like to replace it with is more up to date version of the same thing, i.e. another slide out keyboard design, but there are so few on the market. Can people recommend some phones for me to look at.

A. The Samsung Galaxy Smart has a slideout qwerty, as does the HTC Shift something or other... these are both really reliable and advanced smartphones.
The thing with updates is that no phone is going to CONTINUE getting updates, because at some point any phone will be outdated. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is IT right now, so of course it's getting updates... but in a year, that phone will be really old, and might not be getting new Android updates anymore. So just choose a phone you're happy with, and don't worry too much about the updating feature.
One thing, though... I understand why a lot of people want physical qwerty keyboards, but I'd have to say I've converted from that, thanks to the text input method called Swype. Read about it here: http://howdoyouandroid.com/2012/11/how-do-you-use-swype-keyboard.html It's SO much easier than any of those lame virtual keyboards, and actually is pretty close to as fast as typing on a computer keyboard, even if you're up there around 120 wpm.
Last point, about batteries... tbh, smartphones have pretty lame battery life right now. But I've totally overcome that problem, by following this method: http://howdoyouandroid.com/2012/11/how-do-you-deal-with-battery-that.html
Feel free to comment there, if you have any more Android questions!

Are there any upcoming Android phones for Sprint?
Q. I'm gonna switch over to Sprint in a few months, and I want to use the Android OS.

A. You are a lucky man Kevin,

Friday June 4th is when the HTC EVO 4G is released on Sprint. From everything I'm hearing it's the most powerful Smart phone coming out in the U.S>

Just off the top of my head, EVO4g 8MP camera and a 1.3 MP camera on the front for video chatting. EVO4G has the 4G network (Depending on where you live, if you don't have it now, most likely it will be there by the end of the year, we get ours in 2 weeks)
I know that the EVO 4G allows you to talk and surf the internet at the same time,

The EVO 4G has a 4.3 inch screen to use, to me that means better touch pad typing (I have big hands/fingers) and better screen to watch Video on, plus it has Flash support especially with the 2.2. update coming soon.

The EVO 4G ships with 1GB of internal memory and a 8GB card that can be expanded up to 32GB (heard that it's possible that an update will allow the phone to recognize 64GB but it hasn't been confirmed) so depending on your storage needs,

It's running Android 2.1 with HTC Sense on top of it, I believe that root has been achieved and they are working on porting 2.2 (Fro yo) to the EVO shortly. If you don't root or anything HTC has said that they will be updating The phone this year.

Processors..... EVO 4G has the 1GHZ snapdragon processor,

The EVO 4G also has HD video recording,HD-MI output, free GPS, the ability to become a hotspot for 8 devices at the speed of a home network.

New customers can get the phone for $199 after a $100 rebate. Best buy and radio shack offer instant rebates while Sprint does the mail in.

The other two phones I know about on sprint are the Samsung Hero and the Samsung Moment, they're both Android phones from last year, I think they're running Android 1.6 (they may have been updated by now but not sure. The only difference between them is that one has a hardware keyboard and one is just touchscreen

How do i please my DAD to get me a new PHONE?

Q. Okay so my dad is going to delhi, india for 10-15 days i want him to get me a mobile from there which costs around 8k. The thing is that my father gets very angry at these things since he thinks kids shouldnt buy so many cellphones etc etc. When i was 14, i saved money and when i told him that iam going to pay for it, he argreed. The phone costs 7k so i gave 5k and my dad 2k. Then last year when i was 15 again i saved money and bought my first touch phone which costed 6k. This time also i gave 4k and my dad 2k. He agreed to buy me this phone after alot of pleading. But now i want a new android phone, all of my friends have new phones xcept me. Why i want my dad to get this new phone from india bcoz there it costs 8k and in my country it costs around 20k which is quite xpensive. I wanted to give him money bt i cudnt save any money bcoz of various reasons. But i will promise him that as soon as he gets bck frm india with the phne ofcourse, i will return him the money. If not the xact amount atleast 4k or 5k. I cannot sleep at nyt thinking that wat if my dad refuses to buy this phone as i havent talked abt this with him yet. Please help and i cannot do a job!

A. Perhaps it would be nicer if you were to suggest to your father, that you would really love a new phone, but would be so much happier if he was to give the money to the starving children of India instead. Think of it this way.. every time you use your old phone, you can think to yourself that you saved someone's life, instead of walking around with some new phone.
A phone or a life saved.. which will you choose?

A. These games cannot be useful in playing games like A7 or NFS MW. These phones miss their GPU (Graphic Processing Unit). At the same time you can go for 2nd hand phones. And try to find Sony Erricson Neo or Neo or Play (these are good mobiles with GPU & an be available around 6k to 7k INR in 2nd hand)

How can I lose 40 pounds or more before Summer 2013?

Q. I am 16 years old. My favorite thing to do during the summer time is to tan and swim. But since 2010 I have gained a lot of weight. I am currently 164. It's embarassing to go out in public and swim with my skinny friends. I just wanna go out during the summer time without having to worry about my weight. I understand I have to excericise and eat healthy, but I can't afford to go to the gym. I wanna lose atleast 40 pounds by June 2013 and tone up so I can just have a good time with friends and not feel blah. Can someone please tell what kind of excercises I can do at home and what kind of meals to eat? Please.

A. First of all, you have to change your diet.
Eat lean protein + starchy carbs + fibrous carbs.
http://burn-fat-how-to.com/articles/bodybuilding-food-lists

Start exercising every day. If you have an android phone, look for workout trainer. There I found a great exercise "Fat burner deluxe".

If not, just google for "fat burning exercise at home", and find something suitable.
You have to burn less calories than you eat.
Eat more smaller meals, and the most important thing is that you don't lie to yourself. Count everything you eat. Snacks, chocolate, sweets etc. You shouldn't eat these anyway.

And don't blame it on your metabolism.

The phone works for me I am able to do what I want on the phone like keep up with family on facebook and with my personal emails anywhere. I wanted a phone with a sliding keyboard and this is one of the few phones that have a slider. It is big enough for me to be able to type without a lot of problems I have arthritis so that is important. Although I liked the Rumour keyboard much better. This one is not as easy you have to really push down on some of the keys and the space bar ends up putting a period instead of a space sometimes. The other annoying thing is that it lags sometimes when moving the phone around the screen doesn't adjust quickly but the screen is a bit sensitive so sometimes I lay the phone down and notice that an app has come up even though I didn't touch the screen. Still I am glad I have this phone it is great for me to learn how to use a smartphone and didn't cost an arm and a leg. My two complaints are more just an annoyance.
ProsDurable, Great photos, Great sound
Conskeyboard is more difficult than it should be
Yes, I recommend this product.

And now a link because not so much place here.

How do I get the Motorola Droid without signing a contract?
Q. I want the Motorola Droid but my dad works for AT&T, so he cannot sign the contract for a different service (In this case, Verizon). I might come across the phone itself, but how can I get the service without him signing a contract?

I am 15 by the way, so I can't sign it either.

A. You can try a couple things.

Buy the Verizon Droid or Eris at http://droidcellphone.com with no contract and get Verizon pay as you go plan. You can also buy pay as you go 3G Internet. $5.00 a day to $50.00 a month. $29.00 with a plan so you pay a couple bucks extra to use it.

You cant use the Verizon 3G Network without some kind of plan or pay as you go, but you can connect via Bluetooth and WiFi .

Android is totally open source so you are welcome to get the Droid Smartphones and hack away. Join the developers community and participate.
This is the most exciting time for the development of next gen aka 4G Smartphones. 100's of millions of smartphones are expected to go online by 2012.

Get the Droid and use what you can until you can hack it for AT&T

What are the best android phones in the range of fifteen thosand ?

Q. I feel confused to selsect a perfect android mobile for me

A. You didn't specify the currency... so not sure which conversion to use for your 15000. A good lower priced phone would be the Samsung Galaxy S2 or if you can afford it, the S3. Newer phone, go for S4 or Note 2.
