How Nokia can re-gain its market share? Give at least three suggestions and support each suggestion with solid?

Q. Q MOBILE; A COMPETITOR OR DETRACTOR:

Nokia is the Finnish multinational company founded in 1871 and the largest vendor of mobile phones providing its services in more than 120 countries. Nokia had the biggest customer base around the globe and is the market leader since many years but with the growing technology and due to vendors of smart phones, Nokia is facing declining market from last five years. Competitors came with latest technology, attractive features, innovative designs with lowest prices thus, attracted large chunk of customers. The entrance of HTC, Apple and iphone in Pakistan has damaged Nokia customer base. The android technology led by iphone and HTC changed the perception of market segments and made them inclined towards products with latest features to show their identity distinctively. The android market offer customers fast, attractive and awesome applications to spend their time in leisure. In 2011, Nokia had partnership with Microsoft and now Nokia’s phones 710 and 800 have windows phone operating system to compete with other mobile phone companies. The entrance of Q mobile in 2002 captured large market share with providing eye-catching designs, stunning features with very low prices. It caters low price segment by fulfilling their demands thus, segmentation is critical for all businesses. The features like Wi-Fi, Camera, Bluetooth; Nokia provided in expensive mobiles only but recently, people can have all these features in just Rs. 5000 Mobile phone. The customer’s preference should be the prime concern for every company. This emergence not only changed the perception of customers but market direction shifted from one market leader to many others. But this fact cannot be left unnoticed that Nokia is market leader due to its reliability.

POINT OF DISCUSSION:

How Nokia can re-gain its market share? Give at least three suggestions and support each suggestion with solid argument(s).

A. The Finnish phonemaker also lowered the entry point of its Lumia smartphones with a new model, the Lumia 520, priced at 139 euros.

Most other Lumia phones cost over $200, and the top-of-the-range 920 can retail at over $600 without a carrier contract in the United States and some European markets.

The 920 model was launched last November and has won plaudits from industry analysts for features such as photography and mapping. Sales, however, have been dwarfed by devices from the likes of Samsung 00530.KS running Google's (GOOG.O) Android and Apple's (AAPL.O) iPhone.

Nokia's market share in smartphones has fallen to around 5 percent, while Apple and Samsung together control over half the market.

A new lower entry point for the Lumia 520 would enable Nokia to better compete with some mid-tier Android devices, analysts said.

Can you recommend an Android phone with a keyboard?

Q. I currently have a Motorola Dext (EU version of Motorola Cliq) which I dearly love. But it is starting to show it's age & Motorola refuse to upgrade these past Android 1.5. I know these can be cracked & updated but I couldn't make it work & it's really not worth paying someone to crack such an old phone.

What I Love: Android, large screen, slide out keyboard.
What I hate: Crap battery life, No updates & therefore poor app compatibility

What I would really like to replace it with is more up to date version of the same thing, i.e. another slide out keyboard design, but there are so few on the market. Can people recommend some phones for me to look at.

A. The Samsung Galaxy Smart has a slideout qwerty, as does the HTC Shift something or other... these are both really reliable and advanced smartphones.
The thing with updates is that no phone is going to CONTINUE getting updates, because at some point any phone will be outdated. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is IT right now, so of course it's getting updates... but in a year, that phone will be really old, and might not be getting new Android updates anymore. So just choose a phone you're happy with, and don't worry too much about the updating feature.
One thing, though... I understand why a lot of people want physical qwerty keyboards, but I'd have to say I've converted from that, thanks to the text input method called Swype. Read about it here: http://howdoyouandroid.com/2012/11/how-do-you-use-swype-keyboard.html It's SO much easier than any of those lame virtual keyboards, and actually is pretty close to as fast as typing on a computer keyboard, even if you're up there around 120 wpm.
Last point, about batteries... tbh, smartphones have pretty lame battery life right now. But I've totally overcome that problem, by following this method: http://howdoyouandroid.com/2012/11/how-do-you-deal-with-battery-that.html
Feel free to comment there, if you have any more Android questions!

What will be the next metro pcs release full qwerty slider android?

Android phone below 15000 ?

Q. i was wondering is there any point in buying android phone below 15k indian rupee, coz major advantage of os is:
1.adobe flash 10.x support
2.lot of hd games
3.480*800 resolution over 360*640 of symbian
5.good performance with 1ghz and above cpu and 512 and above ram
So none of the phones below 15000 has these features so is there any pointing in buying an android over symbian below 15000.dont say some crap apps most important app are avilable for symbian some advantage of symbian device below 11-15k
1.hd games support,hd video ,divx support
2.amoled or ips led display future major updates like carla os
3.html5 browser with future update.
4.excellent battery and better resolution 640*360 against 480*320 of android below 15k.
So isnt symbian say symbian belle or carla os device better below 15000.

A. If you're gonna buy an Android phone, you'd have to pay way more than that to meet your requirements.

1. Adobe Flash 11 is only supported on the more mid-range to high-end Android devices while the low end (in your price range). The majority of phones in that range cannot support Adobe Flash due to hardware incompatibility.

2. Again, this requires a good phone as the low end Android devices aren't powerful enough to handle HD games which needs a decent phone to run on. Also, HD games requires a minimum of 480x800 resolution on the screen.

3. The majority of Android devices in the low end uses HVGA resolution (640x240) which is lower than the resolution used on Symbian devices. Only mid-range to high end Android provides WVGA and higher (largest at HD which is 1280x720).

4. Again, 1 GHz processors are only covered from mid-range onwards. The majority of low-end devices runs between 600-800 MHz. However, a lot do luckily have 512 MB of RAM.

So yeah, definitely not worth buying an Android phone below that price. But there are some advantages of an Android devices over Symbian like a more better UI that is easier to use and one that is more responsive. The experience is slightly better. For instance, the browser on Symbian is crap (even the new one is). The Android browser feels a lot better.

1. That is definitely true. Most HD games on Symbian is supported at that range but that's mainly because the graphics aren't as high. But the multimedia part is definitely true. Most Android handsets at that price range are only capable of 480p videos. But there are some phones with DivX support too.

2. Can't complain there. AMOLED and IPS LCD displays are fantastic. But, AMOLED is only used on their more higher end devices. The lower end uses IPS only. I wouldn't call Carla a major OS update. It just mainly adds MS Office and such. But considering how Nokia is slowly moving away from Symbian moving on to Windows Phone, I wouldn't really say Symbian updates are that interesting.

3. Um, Android's browser already have HTML 5. As I said earlier, the Symbian browser experience is actually quite horrible. Even the Anna one isn't that good. And even though it does have HTML 5, it's not a very capable one. Android's HTML 5 browser actually works better.

4. Symbian is more light-weighted. Android has a sh*t loads of background services running. That's the reason why the battery life sucks.

Under 15000. It's probably true that the Symbian devices are better since they do offer some better stuff. But, I can also say you're wrong. The only Symbian devices I see below 15000 are the crappy Symbian phones running on Symbian S60v5 which won't get the Carla update, can't play HD games, no HD or DivX video support, nor AMOLED or IPS LCD or even a good browser. It's actually worse than an low-end Android phone if you don't count the resolution in. However, I have found an Android phone that is 15000. Which does offer most of your needs though. The Huawei Vision.
Has Adobe Flash 11
Can play HD games
Has 480x800 resolution
Has a 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of rAM

So, yeah. Debatable.

Which latest phone should i buy?
Q. Hello..i am looking to buy a phone in between the range of rupees 15000 to 22000. I am interested in only apple or samsung phones. Also i want the best phone in looks and all other imp. Functions. Thanks

A. Galaxy s4 or HTC One are the top 2 right now. Why are you only interested in Apple or Samsung? Apple stuff has outdated specs and there are many more options than the Samsung for androids. The HTC One has a better design than the s4, buut is not as powerful.

What phone should I upgrade to?
Q. I currently have a Droid (the original one), and I am due for an upgrade. What phone should i choose and why?

A. My personal opinion is that your best options are between 2 Android devices:

1) Droid 3 - This will allow you to maintain what you are used to with your original Droid but with a major increase in speed and overall specs. You will also have the physical keyboard.
2) Samsung Galaxy S2 - This is already practically guaranteed to be the smartphone of the year and Verizon looks to be one of this beautys first US destinations. The SGS2 is going to be the summit of dual core processors and and a fantastic end to 2011, right before 2012 introduces the onset of quad core processor devices, and will be well worth the wait of you can manage.

Hope that helps - Ben

Do i have galaxy nexus or nexus 2?

Q. How do i know if i have galaxy nexus or nexus 2?..if i type nexus 2 in google its the same

A. There never was a "Nexus 2". All of Google's Nexus devices have been named differently. Here are the names of each device.

Google Nexus One - Made by HTC and released around Q1 2010 - Q2 2010 (3 year old phone now). First of the Nexus phones and had extremely high end specs during its release. All aluminum design, 3.7" AMOLED display (or SLCD display depending on the model). Has a circular trackpad that glows when a notification is received.

Google Nexus S - Made by Samsung and released around Q4 2010 - Q1 2011. Introduced the Android 2.3.x Gingerbread OS. Has capacitive buttons and removes trackpad that Nexus One has. 4" SUPER AMOLED display and a plastic design.

Google Galaxy Nexus - Made by Samsung and released around November 2011. Introduced the revamped Android 4.0.x Ice Cream Sandwich OS. First Nexus device to have a dual core processor, 720P HD display and 1GB of RAM. 4.65" SUPER AMOLED HD display and has a removable back similar to the Galaxy S II.

Google Nexus 7 - Made by ASUS and released around Q2 2012 - Q3 2012 (India got it around Q1 2013). First Nexus tablet ever introduced with the Android 4.1.x Jelly Bean OS. Also first Nexus device to have a quad core processor (nVidia Tegra 3).

Google Nexus Q - Made straight from Google's headquarters and originally released around June 2012. First device to be integrated straight with the Google Play Store. First Nexus device to be a total flop (according to CNN.com). First device to be discontinued so early after launch (discontinued around October 2012 with the announcement of the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10).

Google Nexus 4 - Made by LG and released around November 2012. First Nexus phone to have an all glass design and the first phone to be released with the Android 4.2.x Jelly Bean OS. One of the first Nexus devices to have 2GB of RAM.

Google Nexus 10 - Made by Samsung and released around November 2012 (February 2013 for Japan). First Nexus device to have such a powerful display (2500x1600 HD display) and the first device to have an A15 based processor. First tablet to have the Android 4.2.x Jelly Bean OS and 2GB of RAM.

These are all the names of the Nexus devices. Hopefully you can find out which device you have from there.

What kind of cell phone should I get if I barely make calls?

Q. I just lost my cellphone so I need to get a new one. But the thing is, I barely make any calls. I only had the old cellphone just to receive calls from my manager and family. As far as making calls, I usually only made calls when I needed to, like if I was instructed to phone a company or something. The last time I had my old phone before I lost it, I had recently rolled-over 4000 minutes that were going nowhere.

What is the best computer tablet?
Q. I want a computer tablet that does just about everything. I want a big tablet. I want one with a good App selection. I also want one that is customizable. I want to be able to change my home screen, like you can on most Android phones. Please help! :) Thank you!

A. The best tablet computer depends on your needs...

If cellular service is important, you may want to consider which tablet your favorite carrier supports:

AT&T:iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab
Sprint:PlayBook and Galaxy Tab
T-Mobile:G-Slate, Streak 7, and Galaxy Tab
Verizon:Galaxy Tab 10.1, iPad 2, Xoom, and Galaxy Tab
Unlocked: Grid 10
None:Eee Slate, Slate 500, TouchPad, Thrive, Eee Pad TF101, Iconia Tab A500, Archos 101, Archos 70, VIZIO VTAB1008, NOOK Color, Kindle Fire, and NOOK Tablet

At the low end, $199 can get you a Nook Color (price just reduced today), which has an ereader orientation but is really a budget, 7-inch, camera-less, tablet running Android 2.2. Better than the color Nook is the new Kindle Fire ($199) or the new Nook Tablet ($249, newly announced today). If you can do without cameras, SD slots and 3G, the Kindle Fire offers great web browsing with its new (cloud-accelerated) Silk browser. The Nook Tablet lacks the advanced Silk browser and is more expensive but does have an SD slot and more memory (16G).

If Windows OS compatibility and a digitizer pen are important to you, consider the ASUS Eee Slate or HP Slate 500. The biggest differences between those are that the ASUS has a better display (12.1 inch AFFS 1280x800) than the HP (8.9 inch TFT 1024x600) but is larger, heavier and more expensive. Both the Eee Slate and the HP Slate 500 are expensive, however: Eee Slate is ~$1,200; HP Slate 500, ~$770. A more economical Windows 7 tablet is the Acer Tab W500, which runs about $500 and includes a keyboard and dock.

If high-end video recording is important to you, consider the LG G-Slate or BlackBerry Playbook, both of which can record at 1080p.

For overall value, the ASUS Eee Transformer (TF101) has surprisingly good specs for under $400: Android 3.1, 10.1 inch 1280x800 IPS (like iPad, but bigger and higher resolution) display, up to 9 hours of battery life (16 hours if optional dock added), optional ability to dock with keyboard, 1 GHz Tegra 250 ARM CPU with 1 GB RAM, good array of ports (mini HDMI, SD, micro SD), preloaded Polaris Office 3.0 for editing documents (.doc), spreadsheets (.xls) and presentation (.ppt) files. Note, though, no 3G (however people report success in tethering it to smart phones). Note that there's a successor in the works going by the name of "Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime" that's expected to have an even faster (quad-core) processor.

The iPad (0.34 inches) and Galaxy Tab 10.1 (0.336 inches) are the thinnest. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 (1.25 lbs) is the lightest of the big-screen (greater than 9 inch) tablets.

iPad 2 Advantages:

IPads have a higher degree of fit-and-finish than the competition. Like iPhones vs other smart phones, iPods vs other MP3 players, or Macs vs PC's, iPads are widely regarded as being more refined and polished than the competition. iPad also has a large and refined App Store (although Android Market is closing the gap).

iPad 2 Disadvantages:

1. No Flash.
2. No SD expansion; no HDMI port; no USB port.
3. ASUS Eee Transformer has a better display (10.1 inch, 1280x800, IPS vs 9.7 inch, 1024x768, IPS) for less money.
4. PlayBook and G-Slate have better rear camera video recording (1080p vs 720p).
5. PlayBook has much better front camera video recording (1080p vs VGA).
6. Almost all tablets have better camera resolution than iPad's lousy 0.7 MP.

Motorola Xoom is heavier and thicker than the iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab 10.1. The Xoom's advantage is that it has HDMI out and micro USB ports. It also has a 5MP rear camera compared to Tab's 3MP. The Xoom has a front webcam and a 720p rear video camera; the Tab has only the 720p rear video camera.

which phone should i get?

Q. should i get a
samsung captivate
lg quantum
pantech pursuit
sony Ericsson vivaz
palm pre plus
htc aria
or the
sharp fx

A. I would say the htc aria would have to be a great choice, hands down, (if this is a comparatively recent model from the htc range)!

I have an htc Wildfire right now, myself, (which is a smartphone - and is a good many months old now and my service provider is the 3 network: It is a touch phone which uses the Android operating system, and it really IS 'quietly brilliant!)
Some benefits of this phone are that it is only £15 per month on a contract, and you get a whopping 5000 Free talk time minutes a month if you use them to communicate with any other mobile on the 3 network! You can probably get a similar deal with any htc phone. But anyway, this htc phone I've got is a really great phone, and by far the best one I've ever had!

Is the samsung galaxy s3 mini a good choice if not what are some goo ones with front facing camera?

Q. I need an android phone. Touch screen with 5 or more mp rear facing and a front facing camera for taking pics and videos and to skype must be android 4.0 4.1 4.2 for a ten year old must be must be 2500 TTD or less prepaid

A. Why not iPhone? iPhones have a really nice camera and it will get an awesome (free) system update this fall that maks it faster and has a really simple yet beautiful design. And if you think an iPhone is too expensive then you might consider waiting until apple reveales their next iPhone because it is roumors that they will launch one cheap model and one more expensive.

A. There's no need to every song is mastered to suit the genre it's intended for the reason why people don't get the most of their music is because the earphones or headphones beat it speaks are of low quality meaning you won't notice the difference between a wav file and an mp3 .

How do i please my DAD to get me a new PHONE?
Q. Okay so my dad is going to delhi, india for 10-15 days i want him to get me a mobile from there which costs around 8k. The thing is that my father gets very angry at these things since he thinks kids shouldnt buy so many cellphones etc etc. When i was 14, i saved money and when i told him that iam going to pay for it, he argreed. The phone costs 7k so i gave 5k and my dad 2k. Then last year when i was 15 again i saved money and bought my first touch phone which costed 6k. This time also i gave 4k and my dad 2k. He agreed to buy me this phone after alot of pleading. But now i want a new android phone, all of my friends have new phones xcept me. Why i want my dad to get this new phone from india bcoz there it costs 8k and in my country it costs around 20k which is quite xpensive. I wanted to give him money bt i cudnt save any money bcoz of various reasons. But i will promise him that as soon as he gets bck frm india with the phne ofcourse, i will return him the money. If not the xact amount atleast 4k or 5k. I cannot sleep at nyt thinking that wat if my dad refuses to buy this phone as i havent talked abt this with him yet. Please help and i cannot do a job!

A. Perhaps it would be nicer if you were to suggest to your father, that you would really love a new phone, but would be so much happier if he was to give the money to the starving children of India instead. Think of it this way.. every time you use your old phone, you can think to yourself that you saved someone's life, instead of walking around with some new phone.
A phone or a life saved.. which will you choose?

Ok i'm getting my first cell phone wondering if a htc droid is a good one?

Q. Ok for christmas i want a cell phone or a fender guitar and if i get a cell phone i was wondering if the htc droid is good. If i do get i want it with Verizon because it covers Montana. I'm really careful and protective of my stuff so i'm not worried about how easily it breaks. If not it wat is a good cell phone. I would prefer a touch screen and i live in montana so i need a provider that covers most of montana.

A. Ok right...well it really depends on what you want to use it for...

Phone specs:

- Networks: CDMA dual band (800/1900 MHz); CDMA2000 1xRTT/1xEV-DO rev.A
- Display: 3.20 inches, 320 x 480 pixels, 262 144 colors, TFT
- Camera: 5 megapixels with Auto focus
- Operating system: Android 1.5
- Input: Touch Screen
- CPU: Qualcomm MSM7600, 528 MHz
- Memory: 288 MB RAM / 512 MB ROM
- Memory card: microSD/microSDHC
- Connectivity: WiFi,GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, 3.5mm HeadPhone Jack
- Misc: MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, WAV
- Media: MPEG4, H.263, H.264
- Battery: Li – Ion
- Talk Time: 3.5 hours (210 mins)
- Standby Time: 373 hours (16 days)
- Dimensions: 4.45 x 2.19 x 0.51 inches (113 x 56 x 13 mm)
- Weight: 4.23 oz (120 g)
- Other: Sense UI, Full HTML Browser with Flash Lite 3.7.1

It's running Android 1.5, there's a new 2.0 available but it's pretty decent itself. It supports Flash Lite so you can view some flash on the browser itself like youtube videos, etc. without the need of a seperate application. WiFi, so you can connect on a hot-spot or with your own internet connection.
The processor & ram isn't the fastest or biggest but if you're not a big "techy" then I doubt it will make a big difference to you.

Overall, it's a good phone for a normal user who wants to do most "day-to-day" things.

If you're looking for a superior device, then I would advise to buy the HTC HD2! It's just stunning!
Fasssst 1ghz snapdragon processor, HUGE 4'3 inch screen (biggest in the market) & a beautiful UI (the layout & design of the phone) & really nice and thin! Here's a link to it; http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_hd2-review-418.php

I hope you make a good choice :) (I'm buying the HD2 btw)

Can you put music from itunes onto your android phone?

Q. I know you can, but what apps do i need for this? I have a samsung galaxy.

A. Hello,

I would recommend checking out this guide:

Why won't my tablet connect to the internet (wifi) every time I turn the tablet on?
Q. I have an ASUS Transformer TF300T. I used to be able to connect to the internet (my wifi) without a problem. Now whenever I turn the tablet on (from sleep mode normally), It says I have "No Internet Connection". When I open up the WIFI setup on the tablet, It says "Home Network - Saved". I try to "Forget Network" and enter the password again and it shows that It is trying to connect ("Connecting"), then it just goes back to saved status.

The problem is intermittent, and one out of 5 times it will connect (sometimes though it wont connect at all). I have the same problem on my android phone. The tablet AND the phone are both android. All other devices that attempt to connect to the WIFI (laptops, xbox, other phones/tabs/ipads) have no problem connecting and maintaining a connection.

I am a complete dummy when it comes to networking. I will post all the stuff I can about my config and stuff. Let me know what else you need if it helps. I'll do my best!

Thats about it. Here is one more thing - I have the tablet on the internet right now as well as the laptop im typing this post on. I just checked connected devices - and it only shows HomeComputer-PC (which is my laptop) The android device isnt showing at all.

ANY Help would be very much appreciated. To those that have taken the time to read my long post, and to reply - I thank you! If you have any questions, just ask (but remember - im a noob when it comes to networking. Im not familiar with fancy networking jargon/acronyms.) =)

A. Not sure if this is your issue or not, but many other Android users have reported this as a problem:
Some Android devices can't connect to a Wi-fi router if the SSID (Service Set IDentification) is hidden. The SSID is the network name. See here for one of many discussions of this issue (search [android can't see ssid] to find other discussions):

http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-htc-thunderbolt/228835-cant-connect-hidden-ssid.html

Not all devices have this problem, but the fix is worth trying to see if it works for you. I know you said you're not a techie, so this may need someone's help, but I'll try to describe it. If your SSID is hidden you'll need to go to the router setup/configuration page/s. With all the info you provided (which is very good) you didn't mention the make/model of the router, so you'll need to find the way into the setup. The address is often on a label under or behind the router, something like [http://192.168.0.1] or 192.168.1.1. You open a browser (IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc) and put the address in the address line and hit Enter. You will then be presented a login page with Username/Password, which again you can find in your manual or online for your make/model, but it's often something like [admin/admin], or [(blank}/admin], or [admin/password]. Once you're in find the check-box that says "Broadcast SSID and be sure it's checked so that your network name can be seen by your devices. Hiding the SSID is sometimes considered a security measure, but it's a really weak one and not worth doing if your devices can't connect as a result. For good security use WPA or WPA2 (NOT WEP - that's old and weak). Write back with additional details if you need more info - hope this helps!

What r some good and mostly bad things about the blackberry bold?

Q. I might get a bold but i keep hearing about soo many problems

A. Well, I don't know which Bold you're getting but I have a Bold 9780 and I love it.

The good things about it:
The resolution is so clear, detailed, bright and beautiful
It has a lot of memory so I have hundreds of songs and videos in it.
The keyboard is great for texting
It's great for email and social media
It's so much faster for web browsing than previous Blackberry Models like the Curve 8520 and 9300 and the Bold 9000

Bad things:
I wish the screen was bigger
If you download tons of apps it might get slower or freeze
It's still slower for internet browsing if you compare it to Android phones.

Now, the new Bold 9000 has a wider screen and keyboard and it's so much faster. It runs on OS7, a new Operating system. And also, the Screen is touch so you got the great Qwerty Keyboard and a touch screen in one place.

Hope this helps!

Which phone is the best out of these four?
Q. The three phones are the blackberry bold 9000 or the iPhone 3gs,palm pre,and last the new htc hero (and android phone that is also know as the tmobile g1 touch) which phone is better In Your opinion and why

A. out of those 4 phones i would say the blackberry bold is the best out of all of them. i personally love that phone.

What is the best phone out with Verizon right now? Droid X or Iphone? Reviews please?

Q. I'd like to know in your opinions what are the best phones out with verizon right now? I'm getting a new phone tonight and I'm not sure if I should go with the Droid X or the Iphone? Or another? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

A. get the droid x (or if you can the galaxy s2), with a app called "double twist" you can sync all your itunes music to your android

I prefer android over apple for the reason that its open-source, that means that the majority of the apps are free, and you get more revolutionary and cutting edge apps. And do things are even only barely available on a jail broken iphone
The android market already has 250000 apps- closing in on apple 500000; some say it will surpass it before the year is over. Also any popular iphone game or game adaptation can be found in the android market for free.
Another great thing about android as that if you dont like something (keyboard, homescreen, etc.) it can easily be swapped without jail-breaking, unlike the iphones one-size-fits-all approach.

Other features only on android
Turn-by-turn voice GPS
Better and larger screen
No need to connect to computer to sync
Here is a big one, add a sd card
Live wallpaper
Better calls
4g
More customizable
More powerful hardware
Flash support, watch ALL the online videos

Apple lovers that say that the iphone is made of better quality material? They don’t realize that Samsung, an android phone maker, supply’s the screen, processor and memory for apple devices, so android has the advantage here.
The iphone is pretty, but not durable, drop it once- it breaks, all that glass around it? That was honestly a mistake. Android manufactures clearly saw that, and decided to do with something a little more durable.

And the iphones “retina display” is a huge scam. By definition a ‘retina display’ is one where the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels. But this is determined by several factors; most important being the distance between the screen and your eyes. The iphones retina distance is 12in, move any closer than that- say 7in and it’s no longer a “retina screen” because your eyes can now see the pixels, by that same token, if I move my android phone back, to say 16-17in, amazingly, it becomes a retina screen as well! (feel free to google this)

Also apple never invents anything, all they do is steal old technology, give it a fresh coat of paint and mass advertise it as “magical” and “innovating”, thus fooling the mass of the population into believing that apple offers cutting edge technology, that in fact has been around for quite a few years.
So instead of innovating, apple actually hinders technology- after 4 years they still have low-power single core phones, while android, an example of technology in overdrive, has rumored that, after their second year, the release of quad core phones that will surpass even some desktop computers in shear processing power.

Apple should now feel pretty worried; android has passed it in market share
http://www.businessinsider.com/android-iphone-market-share-2011-4

Then apple panics and sues
http://www.dailytech.com/Google+ExCEO+Apple+Doesnt+Innovate+They+Sue/article22190.htm
The funny thing is that apple can’t sue for being the first touchscreen or tablet, because they weren’t,(Nokia fist touch screen, “archos” first tablet) so instead they sue for much more relevant things like, “the rounded icon corners” and “having a flat screen” or “the square shape of the phone”……..

To top it all, if you’ve seen apples 2011 presentation, they blatantly copied over five "new" features that were previously on android.
http://androidandme.com/2011/06/news/five-features-in-ios-5-that-show-how-apple-is-now-playing-catch-up-to-google/

http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/06/apple-introduces-ios5-with-notifications-ota-updates-and-tabbed-browsing-android-users-giggle-at-their-late-arrival/
1. Notification bar
2. Twitter integration
3. No need to connect to PC to sync
4. Launch apps from lock screen
5. Tabbed browsing

And not only are they copies, but apple didn’t even bother to improve, or change some of them in any way- some even have LESS features than their android counter parts, it’s basically a cheap imitation with the ever-popular iphone skin.
According to Steve jobs, these "revolutionary" new technologies that android users had since 2007 will be available on IOS5, and it would not surprise me to see some more android features from 2008 on IOS6.But the truly sad part is that due to apples marketing, in a few months, apple lovers will really think that apple invented those features and call android the copycats…yet again.

Though I suppose Google should’ve seen it coming….

Q. For christmas, I can have either phone(right now I have the palm pre, and it's glitching like crazy) so I am gonna upgrade. I like both because of the QWERTY keyboard and front facing camera, but which is the better buy? They're both about the same price.

The phone works for me I am able to do what I want on the phone like keep up with family on facebook and with my personal emails anywhere. I wanted a phone with a sliding keyboard and this is one of the few phones that have a slider. It is big enough for me to be able to type without a lot of problems I have arthritis so that is important. Although I liked the Rumour keyboard much better. This one is not as easy you have to really push down on some of the keys and the space bar ends up putting a period instead of a space sometimes. The other annoying thing is that it lags sometimes when moving the phone around the screen doesn't adjust quickly but the screen is a bit sensitive so sometimes I lay the phone down and notice that an app has come up even though I didn't touch the screen. Still I am glad I have this phone it is great for me to learn how to use a smartphone and didn't cost an arm and a leg. My two complaints are more just an annoyance.
ProsDurable, Great photos, Great sound
Conskeyboard is more difficult than it should be
Yes, I recommend this product.

And now a link because not so much place here.

How do I get the Motorola Droid without signing a contract?
Q. I want the Motorola Droid but my dad works for AT&T, so he cannot sign the contract for a different service (In this case, Verizon). I might come across the phone itself, but how can I get the service without him signing a contract?

I am 15 by the way, so I can't sign it either.

A. You can try a couple things.

Buy the Verizon Droid or Eris at http://droidcellphone.com with no contract and get Verizon pay as you go plan. You can also buy pay as you go 3G Internet. $5.00 a day to $50.00 a month. $29.00 with a plan so you pay a couple bucks extra to use it.

You cant use the Verizon 3G Network without some kind of plan or pay as you go, but you can connect via Bluetooth and WiFi .

Android is totally open source so you are welcome to get the Droid Smartphones and hack away. Join the developers community and participate.
This is the most exciting time for the development of next gen aka 4G Smartphones. 100's of millions of smartphones are expected to go online by 2012.

Get the Droid and use what you can until you can hack it for AT&T

What are some good android phones?

Q. I am planning to get an android phone for my birthday, and I was wondering what are some good phones? I know the latest Android operating system is the Jelly Bean 4.2, so what are some phones that run on this system, or could be upgraded to this system?
I'm not interested in the Samsung Galaxy S3, but I was interested in the HTC One X+ and the HTC Windows 8 phone, and the Google Nexus 4.
Also, I was reading an article that was talking about phones that may be released later in 2013, like the Samsung Galaxy S4, Nokia Lumia 9xx, and HTC EVO 4G LTE 2.
So what would be the best choice at the moment? Buying a phone right now, or waiting? And which phone should I buy?

A. It's always better to wait but if you still want to buy a phone then Nokia Lumia 920 is best & HTC One X comes after it. Galaxy S3 is also good but you have already mentioned that you don't want it. And ofcourse Nexus 4 is also a great device. You can choose from these. Only wait for Galaxy S4 otherwise buy any of these phones.

When did Nook tablet start offering the google play store to download android apps?
Q. I got a new Nook Tablet from my Aunt and Unlce last Christmas. I used it for awhile, and all of a sudden, one day, I turn my Nook Tablet on, and the google play store was there, just like my old Android phone, where I could than download the same apps and games and stuff. When did Nook Tablet get the google play store? What was the date? I had no idea, until randomly it was on my home screen, because I had stopped using the Nook for awhile, and now I have been using it all the time.

A. It happened in early May of 2013.

What android phone is the best for a heavy texter?

Q. I've been looking into getting an android phone from verzion, but I am a REALLY heavy texter, I text about 30,000 texts per month, and I want a phone that is easy to text on and isn't difficult to use. Right now I have an env3, and I absolutely love the keyboard layout, but the phone has so many glitches.
Also, I'm not the most careful with my phone. So I want a phone that won't break if dropped.

A. Well, its really preference if its up to texting, i would go to a verizon store and test out all the different android phones. I prefer the droid incredible (no physical keyboard but the software keyboard is good). Next the droid x but its too big of a phone for me. Then the droid 2 (wich is the only one with a real keyboard). Those are the best (fastest android phones on verizon. Although im not sure about the other ones that arent called "droid" though there not as fast but again i would test them out at the verizon store.

Should I get a new verizon android phone now or wait?
Q. I'm already due for my upgrade and I currently have an lg dare. I will stay with Verizon. Currently the top android phones in verizon lineup are Motorola Droid 2 and X, htc droid incredible, Samsung Fascinate. Should I wait or get one of these now? Heard there is an amazing htc phone called htc merge with 10 megapixel camera and a droid pro.

A. Verizon is getting Iphone in january BUT compared to an android phone is suck.

The only thing you'll be getting with an Iphone is the novelty to say... "I HAVE AN IPHONE!!"

My android can give my laptop internet access anywhere.

Plus apple is expanding because their sales are expected to drop because of Android being such a strong competitor.

Android is an affordable smart phone that almost every carrier offers therefore you'll have more connectivity with people. You can also pick up an android phone with not only touch screen but a slide out keyboard making it easier to text in class, or while driving (not that I condone it.)

Plus if something happens to it you aren't doomed to make an appointment with specialist only for them to tell you that you have to buy a new iphone.

Can you help me choose an android phone?

Q. So recently i've been searching for a good android phone that is not expensive and i've come down to this five choices:
1. Galaxy pocket
2. Galaxy Y
3. Alcatel One Touch Glory X918N
4. Huawei Ascend Y200D

I would prefer a bigger screen for reading and good internal memory for more apps and I know HTC Explorer is about the right one but when I found this OT-918N and searched for its specs, they both almost have the same specs, but OT has bigger internal memory. Can OT-918N play HD games too?
Please tell Which should I prefer and what would you prefer.

A. Samsung's Galaxy S series have not only been the best phones that are made by Samsung but also the best Android phones available on the market right now. They offer by far the widest range of features and match them with performance.

Qik Video App doesn't want to work when calls are made between an iPhone 4 and an htc Android phone?
Q. I downloaded Qik video chat app onto my iPhone 4. I've only used it to call someone who owns an htc Android phone. The video works and I can clearly see and hear the person on the other end, however the other person cannot hear me. The mute button on my end cannot be disabled. Is this a common problem? Do I need to upgrade? Any suggestions?

A. For some reason the android doesn't work towards the iPhone 4. Try the app Tango it works for me..

Should I get the Epic 4G or Samsung Transform Ultra for Sprint?

Android phones with a qwerty keyboard?
Q. Was wondering if there will be any android phones coming out soon are are already out that have a qwerty keyboard, i really like the HTC desire Z but it is fairly old was just wondering if anyone knows if there will be a similar phone to that being released soon, or a second generation desire z?

A. There is a new from Samsung. I am not from the US and I can't remember the exact model. Here in S.E Asia the common is the Desire Z or the Samsung 551.

The Galaxy Pro is also a QWERTY phone.

HTC has the Cha-cha....In the US there's also one from Motorola.
