Thinking of buying an Android powered mobile priced below Rs. 15000. Can anyone suggest the best out of these?

Q. Samsung I5700 Galaxy Spica
LG Optimus One P500
Samsung Galaxy 3 (I5801)
Sony Ericsson Xperia X8

Is HTC Wildfire a good pick?

Which one is the best pick?

These are some of the models I managed to find out. Any other suggestions?

A. 1 - never ever ever ever ever go for LG - my experience with 3 lg phones have been terrible.

Sony Xperia is a bit fragile compared to samsung one and htc.

since it is andriod based - i suggest htc wildfire as it is a terrific phone and second option i suggest samsung one.

What is verizons most fast and reliable smart phone for apps and web browsing?

Q. Also if you know of any could you tell me the names of any phones comming out this summer for verizon. thanks :)

A. Well the best right now is the HTC Droid Incredible. IT has Android, 8MP Camera, 1ghz snapdragon processor, 3.7" screen, and a whole bunch of nerdy tech specs. But I think it's the best right now. Actually i don't think it is...It is.

The LG Ally is the Iron Man 2 phone. It's pretty nice, Just like the Incredible but with a keyboard. It also has android, but doesn't have HTC Sense like the Incredible.

Also there should be a Blackberry Storm3.

Also Verzion said they're coming out with 3-5 LTE 4G phones by May 2011. But you can't wait that long and I feel like Verizon may not be able to deliver on their promise. They're trying to steal the thunder from Sprint since their first 4G phone comes out in 2 weeks.

Should i upgrade to the iphone 4s or android?
Q. Ive owned every iPhone, and have always loved apple products, but android phones have recently seen large improvements. The operating systems are awesome, large screen, excellent camera quality. I sold my iPhone 4 and bought a Samsung galaxy s 2 until the iPhone 4s is released which one is better. Is ios5 better than androids latest software. Im so confused :(

A. get the Samsung android galaxy s2

-worlds thinnest phone (certain models are a bit thicker)
-most powerful dual core processor (1.2ghz)
-wifi tethering- turn your phone into a portable hotspot.
-best battery life (several days with light usage)
-super AMOLED plus screen, best screen out their
-8mp camera with 1080 recording capabilities
-built in FM radio
-gorilla glass, same glass used in military helicopters.
-voice talk- apple basically copied this and called it “siri”

good android apps

ios5 is a coppy.

also Samsung makes the screen, processor and memory for apple devices so you know its better!

Should I get a new verizon android phone now or wait?

Q. I'm already due for my upgrade and I currently have an lg dare. I will stay with Verizon. Currently the top android phones in verizon lineup are Motorola Droid 2 and X, htc droid incredible, Samsung Fascinate. Should I wait or get one of these now? Heard there is an amazing htc phone called htc merge with 10 megapixel camera and a droid pro.

A. Verizon is getting Iphone in january BUT compared to an android phone is suck.

The only thing you'll be getting with an Iphone is the novelty to say... "I HAVE AN IPHONE!!"

My android can give my laptop internet access anywhere.

Plus apple is expanding because their sales are expected to drop because of Android being such a strong competitor.

Android is an affordable smart phone that almost every carrier offers therefore you'll have more connectivity with people. You can also pick up an android phone with not only touch screen but a slide out keyboard making it easier to text in class, or while driving (not that I condone it.)

Plus if something happens to it you aren't doomed to make an appointment with specialist only for them to tell you that you have to buy a new iphone.

Is there an app available in the android market that will root my droid x?
Q. I've been reading posts on various forums about an app from the android market that'll root my phone with "1 click". Does it exist & if not, what's the simpliest method to root my Droid X?

A. use this maybe it would help a little http://www.droid-life.com/2011/03/29/how-to-root-gingerbread-on-droid-x/

Should I buy HTC one google edition or normal?

Q. I've had an iPhone device most of my life. My contract is ending on august 9th and I want to try out an android phone. I know that the Google edition runs jelly bean 4.2 and the normal one runs 4.1. Whats the difference. I don't really understand android. It seems so bulky and not smooth. I always hear about the customization ability. Can I change the look of the status bar? App designs? Run a different version of android?

And Finally Do I have to buy the Google play edition for $600? Can I buy it with a contract form like best buy?

A. You should get the normal HTC One version. The Google version should only be for die hard Android fanatics. The normal version comes in Android 4.1 but recently the update to Android 4.2 (the latest version) has been rolling out so you shouldn't worry about that. All the changing the looks you listed are easily to do. All you need is to download a launcher from the Google Play store and you can customize your phone to that launcher. The normal HTC One version does run on a different version of Android but all Android manufactures (HTC, Samsung, Sony, etc.) add something different to their android phones to make it stand out. The Google edition runs on the normal Android version, which is how Google envisioned Android should be without those extra stuff. Finally, if you want the Google edition you have to buy it at the $600 cost as it only comes in the unsubsidized cost.

How do I install Jellybean on my Samsung galaxy fascinate/mesmerize?
Q. I want all the new features that android 4.1 offers and ive seen people on youtube with it nistalled on their devices, how do I do it exactly?

A. NOTE(I M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY SORT OF HARM TO UR MOBILE IF U AGREE THEN ONLY PROCEED)1stly watch dis video to root ur phone and be carefull

Android or symbian belle phone for 15000 ? 10 points?
Q. my bro is planning to buy a new phone our budget is 15k,we are considering nokia 603 coz it has 3.5 ips led screen,1ghz cpu,512 ram,hd gaming, future major updates,html5 browser coming soon for it.
So is this a good phone or is there any better android phone at the price except crappy galaxy ace.

A. Going for the Nokia is a no brainer as it has stunning hardware and legendary nokia build quality. It also feuters Symbian witch is the worlds most powerfull mobile os and could easily match the performance of a android phone with twice the power of 603. Would I be considered spoiled if I bought a MS Surface?

Q. Ok, So I'm 14 years old and am really into tech. Like I love technology and know a lot about it. I follow all the new stuff and pay attention to stuff usually no one cares about. In Dec. of 2011 I got a budget android smartphone for Christmas with a 200mb data cap which I pay $5 for every month. In March of 2012 my laptop finally gave out (my dad gave it to me for Xmas of 2010-it was his old one and was like 3 years old at that point) and I had to buy a new one because a computer is a nessesity with the amount of schoolwork I have online now. I paid for about $550 of the $750 it cost and the rest was a combined bday/graduation present from my parents. In late September right before a fam. vacation I bought myself a Nexus 7 for $250 and took it on vacation. On that vacation my laptop screen broke (long story- not really my fault though) and I had to return it in order to pay for a repair. Today I asked my dad to take me to the local MS store to check out the new surface tablet (not to buy- just to look at) and I loved them the first time I touched one. I started theorizing of ways to get one but I then realized how much stuff I have (smartphone, laptop) and thought it was kinda inappropriate for a 15 year old to have a $499 tablet (which is the cheapest version of the surface). I thought I would cancel my phone data plan and save the money I would have payed, I would also use $70 I have in my wallet to contribute. I would then try to sell a couple of my old ds games (no longer own the ds, all of them combined would probably go for $30). I would then take $150 out of my PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT (this is not a college fund/savings account). and ask for the rest for christmas and promise I will get exceptional grades. On top of all of that I would look for a used/refurbished one. (might take $50 off the top). But back to the point, if you saw a 14 year old who is really into tech that paid for his own budget android phone, $750 laptop, and a used ms surface would you think he is spoiled because thats the last thing I want people to think of me.
I harley think surface is the new zune....
I have used surface in the Microsoft store and I really like it. In fact with the introduction to Windows 8 and Windows phone 8 im leaving android

A. Pleased you didn't ask which new iPad you should get. The MS Surface does look good and it's nice it's got a proper keyboard of sorts, however cute is one thing and 500 bucks just cos it's cute tech is another. If you're honest with yourself you don't really need it and at least you have tried one. Another rule of thumb to work by is what a colleague of mine always says, never buy anything from Microsoft until Service Pack 1 is released.

Should I return my iPhone 5 and get some type of Android phone?
Q. My first iPhone 5 arrived with a scratch, and the second had sim card issues (even with a replacement card) and Wi-Fi problems. I wanted this phone mostly so I could continue to use my apps and purchase upcoming games. Getting an Android phone is tempting since I'm getting tired of Apple's quality control but I will no longer be able to use my games. What do you recommend doing?

A. If you're open to trying and exploring another platform then sure go ahead and get an android phone. A lot of apps that are in the app store are also available at google play. It does take some time getting used to if you switch so keep that in mind. And also, there's no perfect phone so you're going to experience some type of problem along the line with every phone.

If you do decide to switch, you can get that famous Samsung Galaxy S3, Motorola Razr Maxx HD or HTC One X.

You can go to a store and play with one of them the you decide.

If i'm using Wifi on my android, does downloading apps take up my monthly mb?

Q. I've got 500mb a month with my new android phone (Xperia 10) and I was just wondering if I download an app when I'm on a Wi Fi connection, will it take up my 500mb?

A. No it should not take up your data. Too make sure your on wifi, not 3g look at your notification bar on top. It will only show one or the other, so if it shows wifi then you will be using wifi, not your data. Hope this helps.

My phone keeps turning off when I try to update it, Help?
Q. Well I have an Android phone the Sony Xperia Z
I kinda need to update the device. Once it is about to update the device turns off and I have to restart the whole process again. Then again it shuts down again -___-" HELP please !

A. I would take it to your local phone shop which ever service provider u use and let them update it for you in the shop if there is a issue with the phone they will let u know or it could be the PC/laptop you are using to update it which had the issue not the phone

What is the best phone for a teenage girl?

Q. I am a teen and any carrier (at&t, tmoble, sprint, verizon etc.....)
and i am looking for a not to expensive android/ droid phone
and i would like it to have a qwerty keyboard and a touch screen

thanks

A. One of the new windows 7 phones on AT&T one of them has the keyboard.

why not any new good 3G/multimedia phones with qwerty keyboards from verizon?
Q. it seems like verizon is just veering off to only releasing new android phones or just basic feature phones. i'm eligible for a cell phone upgrade, but i'm waiting for something decent to come thats not a smartphone..

btw, i checked out the samsung reality but the sales rep said it was a problem phone.

A. Hi there. I work for Verizon. The main reason is Verizon has been trying to compete with Iphones. ATT has had the contract for years and so Verizon has made a push to match iphones size and ability, therefore you will see more and more phones withoutkeyboards. Wth regards to waht the sales rep said,...every phone has querks, then a new software comes out to fix those querks but ultiamtely ithey aren't found out until about 1 to 5 months after each release. Verizon however is good about updating most software.

aphoneupgrade@gmail.com can help you pgrade even if you are not eligible for an early upgrade

can you have a att flip phone with wifi but not have to have data plan?

Q. My husband is looking for a simple att flip phone that he can hook up to our wifi at home. He does not text or use internet but would like to download a few apps.

A. There have only been a very few "smartphone" flip phones made. Currently AT&T offers no "smartphone" flip phones, though you can use an unlocked GSM-capable phone on the AT&T network (i.e., a flip phone that doesn't come from AT&T).

The last "flip" smartphone offered through AT&T was the Blackberry Pearl Flip in 2010 (the current version is the model 9670). Although you can still buy the Pearl Flip from other sources and use it on the AT&T network, AT&T will recognize any Blackberry phone and charge you a mandatory $30 per month for their "Blackberry Data Plan" even if you only ever use it on wifi.

Some non-smartphone flip phones may still offer "apps" though these are not the apps you normally think of in terms of iPhone, Android or Windows Phone apps. Feature phone "apps" are JAVA-based and tend to be much harder to find and not as good in quality as smartphone apps.

It is possible to operate a smartphone on the AT&T network without paying for the data plan, using only wifi for the "apps". To do so you must *not* use a phone that was originally sold by AT&T (AT&T will recognize one of its own phones and force a data plan onto your bill). Instead you must find a GSM-compatible smartphone from T-Mobile or from outside the US and "unlock" the phone for use with any carrier. When setting up the phone for use AT&T you do *not* configure the SMS, MMS or data plan settings. This assures that your phone can't use AT&T data connectivity.

More specific info can be found in the posting "Smartphones Without a Data Plan":

Good luck!

what is the best android phone from metro pcs?
Q. hi all, i have been looking and phones and want some opinions.... there are a lot of nice phones out there but i am wondering about:

Coolpad Quattro™ 4G

LG Connect 4G

HTC Wildfire S™

thanks!

A. The best in my mind is Lg Connect 4G,but see for yourself
If you've never lived in China, then chances are you've never heard of smartphone maker Coolpad. The company, which is a major mobile player across the Pacific (Coolpad outsells Apple there by a wide margin), hopes to make the jump to the United States with the Quattro 4G ($79 contract-free from metroPCS as of 10/2/2012), its first smartphone offering here. Though the phone has speedy 4G LTE and a good-sized 4-inch display, the Quattro 4G's clunky feel, outdated operating system, and poor camera won't make Coolpad a household name here any time soon.

ne of the recent phones to be released by the Taiwanese mobile giant HTC is the HTC Wildfire S. It is primarily meant to be a budget class Android phone and it has really served the purpose. It caught our attention at first sight and we have loved the phone ever since. So we thought we would give it our full attention and focus on the pros and cons of the HTC Wildfire S. So, here is the list of pros and cons of the phone.

Pros:

The phone has really excellent design and dimension specifics of 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 mm lengthwise, breadthwise and by thickness respectively. The device weighs a mere 105g which competed with all the devices in the market today.

The TFT capacitive touchscreen is actually miserly but given the cost of the phone, we feel it is pretty much worth it! We have always loved the HTC Sense UI and it is the same in this phone too.

The microSD expansion of the phone’s memory can be done up to 32GB which is really awesome but we were pissed with the internal memory specifics of the phone. We will come to that in the cons section. Still, we loved the RAM of the phone which is a pretty decent 512MB one.

The camera is a pretty decent 5MP shooter which can shoot good pictures at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, has features like autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, etc. VGA video recording is also possible at 24 fps, in the phone.

Unlike the LG phones, the HTC Wildfire S runs on the most advanced version of the Android operating system, the Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) and this is one of the features we love most about the phone.

Cons:

Of course, the phone has its own set of bad qualities too. Some of them are manifested in the form of bad processor, bad battery, etc. HTC, learn fast!

The processor of the phone is a really simple 600 MHz processor which can be easily beaten even by a Nokia 5130 Xpress Music phone (remember those red phones which caused quite a furore when they were released)

We also hate the speeds of GPRS and EDGE, which are 114 kbps and 560 kbps respectively. I mean come on, you can give us better speeds for the money we are paying. The phone isn’t that cheap!

The battery of the phone really sucks! The 1230 lithium ion fuel is no match for the rate at which Android is growing virulently! A powerful battery is a must have in all phones and HTC simply does not seem to understand this basic fact as far as mobile phones are concerned!

Anyone looking for a budget Android device; buy this one and you’ll not regret it!

htc v blackberry around £150 on phones 4 u?

Q. htc windows phone 8s vs blackberry of smiler cost which one to get? or if any other good phone with similer price to the htc any recommendations ?

A. Hi David,

I wouldn't recommend a BlackBerry device - compared to any Android or Windows Phone at this price point, you are purchasing a phone that is essentially a generation old, with fewer apps, fewer updates coming, etc.

The Windows Phone 8S by HTC is a solid choice, but I'd sooner recommend the similarly priced Windows Phone Nokia Lumia 620. It has double the amount of storage (8GB vs 4GB), and adds a front facing camera, a more responsive touchscreen that actually reduces glare from the sun, and Nokia exclusive applications (like Nokia Music for completely free and unlimited music mixes, and the full suite of Nokia's HERE mapping apps).

You can get the Lumia 620 for £165 on Amazon UK (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B1OTXZ2/ref=noref?ie=UTF8&psc=1&s=electronics), but there are some deals to be had on PAYG. For example, you can get the device for £125 on Vodafone (http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-phone/nokia-lumia-620-blue-payg

Hope this helps!

Which phone is better the T-Mobile wing or the G1?
Q. im having trouble deciding in between these two phones can anyone help me plz

A. As per my opinion i would suggest u to go for T-Mobile G1 as its very demanding now a days in market than T-Mobile wing. I have T-Mobile G1and i didn't find any problem till as i have taken it before 4 months from UK.

T-Mobile G1 has good features as under

+ The T-Mobile G1 features a full QWERTY keyboard, 3G support, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. The Google Android operating system offers good integration with Google applications as well as access to the Amazon MP3 Store and YouTube.

+ Android looks to be the real deal, Almost everything is customizable, Keypad is one of the best out there, Large, responsive touchscreen, Open platform + Android Market = infinite possibilities, Device is large, but ergonomics are good, Great battery life

+ Solid "telephone" and interesting operating system.

+ Nice size screen, responsive touch control, good camera, feels good in your hands and the "chin" doesn't get in the way of speedy typing, overall easy to use and very customizable.

Is there an android phone that would fit an iphone case?
Q. I know this seems kinda weird. But I love love love some of the iphone cases. Like the cute ones that stand up and look like sitch, and hello kitty, and the alien from toy story. The 3D cases. But I REALLY don't care for Iphone's. I like the android system and everything. Well, I need a new phone now and I was just wondering if there's any android phones that would fit in an Iphone case. Not even exactly Iphone clones(cause I've looked at some of them), but just phones that happen to fit the cases?

A. Nope cases are specifically made for one phone and one phone only.

What android phone is the best in your opinion?

Q. I'm thinking about getting an android phone when I renew my contract with Verizon in July. What android phone do you prefer and why? So far I've been looking at the Motorolla Droid and the HTC Incredible.

A. The HTC incredible hands down. the phone is better overall. but if you need a physical keyboard then go for the Droid with is pretty good too.

What android phone is the best for a heavy texter?
Q. I've been looking into getting an android phone from verzion, but I am a REALLY heavy texter, I text about 30,000 texts per month, and I want a phone that is easy to text on and isn't difficult to use. Right now I have an env3, and I absolutely love the keyboard layout, but the phone has so many glitches.
Also, I'm not the most careful with my phone. So I want a phone that won't break if dropped.

A. Well, its really preference if its up to texting, i would go to a verizon store and test out all the different android phones. I prefer the droid incredible (no physical keyboard but the software keyboard is good). Next the droid x but its too big of a phone for me. Then the droid 2 (wich is the only one with a real keyboard). Those are the best (fastest android phones on verizon. Although im not sure about the other ones that arent called "droid" though there not as fast but again i would test them out at the verizon store.

why not any new good 3G/multimedia phones with qwerty keyboards from verizon?

Q. it seems like verizon is just veering off to only releasing new android phones or just basic feature phones. i'm eligible for a cell phone upgrade, but i'm waiting for something decent to come thats not a smartphone..

btw, i checked out the samsung reality but the sales rep said it was a problem phone.

What is the best android phone on the best network?
Q. If you could get any Android on any network what smartphone would you get and why?

A. Samsung Droid Charge of Droid 3 on Verizon Wireless... always Verizon Wireless.

I would mainly go for the Samsung Droid Charge just because it's the strongest Android phone that Verizon has to offer at the moment.

It features 4G speeds, a zippy processor, the best screen in the smartphone business (Super AMOLED Plus), and a huge battery life despite all of it's premium specs. The big touch screen is great for your multimedia experience, as well as texting on the touchscreen keyboard.

But if you're a heavy texter, then definitely the Droid 3. It has a really great keyboard (the best on the Verizon network), a dual core processor, a good camera... but it lacks 4G which is a huge letdown. It's still a powerhouse phone, but in the mobile world of 4G, it's falling behind... but at least your battery life will be better than most smartphones right now.

I personally would get the Samsung Droid Charge just because it's super strong and not a lot of people are disappointed with it. I'm a moderate texter, so I don't need a physical qwerty keyboard.

When you're buying your smartphone, you should probably check out Wirefly (The Walmart of the mobile world) http://www.wirefly.com/?referringdomain=Wirefly_CJ

It offers huge discounts on smartphones when you sign up for a new 2 year contract or upgrade your current contract with your wireless carrier. You can save up to $200 on the Samsung Droid Charge ($99.99 vs $299.99) and $140 on the Droid 3 ($59.99 vs $199.99). The catch with Wirefly is that you have to stay on contract with your mobile carrier for at least 6 months... or else they'll charge you the full price of the phone... but it's very easy to stay on contract on that short amount of time.

Have fun with your new smartphone.

How is my phone (samsung s3) getting pics from my pc?

Q. I was looking at pics in my phone and noticed that there was pics that are only on my laptop in its own folder names " owner-PC" with all my pics from my comp. over 8000 pics. I have no idea how this is happening or why. I have never connected my phone to my comp either. I use WIFI on both comp and phone. Can anyone tell me how this happens?

A. It could be that you have it on the cloud (I believe Android has this, I know Apple does) which means its automatically pulling them from all other things hooked onto the same cloud account. If you don't have one (which is completely possible, seeing as how you have to set up the cloud) try going through your settings. If it is only pictures doing it then check the image settings, but if Music and other things are syncing to it as well try to look through the other settings.

What Mobile Phone would you reccomend for me?
Q. I want it with WIFI, qwerty keyboard and touch, possibly not too expensive

A. One word ANDROID. Anyone who says don't go android is insane. Also seeing on how you want a cheep phone. Androids are less expensive, the most phones and the come in a verity of QWERTY and touch screen. Not only that some even have overlays which allow ultimate social networking. Like Motoblur, HTC sense, or Timescape of Sony.

Not only that it has tons of apps approx 8000 being added every month and 80% of the apps are free of charge rather then Apple where only 40% are free.

These phones also have better possessors and come in more of a Verity of phones, where blackberry and iphone are, well they are just blackberry and iphone they don't change that often.

ok so ill give u a cheep phone on every carrier, cuz you never said which one you are on
AT&T- Moto BACKFLIP----- Verizon- Moto Devour ------Sprint- Samsung Intercept-------- T Mobile- Moto Cliq. My favorites would be Moto Droid and droid 2 on verizon the are more price but o so worth it :) anyways hope i helped Oh and all the moto phones i said have MOTOBLUR. the droids dont tho sadly :(

What Android models have the best sound quality?
Q. I currently have an LG Optimus T. It's a budget Android phone. Good quality, full-featured Android in a small package. Big drawback other than the crappy camera is that the audio sounds like garbage. When I plug the 3.5mm jack into my car stereo, it sounds atrocious. I would like to get a new Android next year but I want to upgrade to something with much better sound output from the 3.5mm jack. Something that will sound comparable in quality to an iPod. I have a great car stereo system so I want to be able to take advantage of that.

What are some Android phones known for high quality audio?

A. i think Samsung Galaxy Series and Sony Xperia series are best for sound quality

LG Optimus One Android Caller ID question?

Q. I have an LG Optimus One and my provider is Koodo. I didn't buy the caller ID add on because I thought the phone would get the names from my contact list and that would tell me who's calling. Unfortunately it is not doing that. Is that normal? Is caller ID the only way to see who is calling?

A. even if the person who is calling is one of your contacts, it won't show you who it is because you don't have caller id. koodo if now offering caller id, voicemail, and unlimited texting for $10.

Using my iPhone in the US?
Q. OK Hi everyone, I'm going to the US in a few months on a vacation and I can't wait :) Write now, I live in Canada and I have my iPhone 4 and Android phone on a Canada-based plan. I need to be able to use my phone in the US

My service provider here (Koodo) says that I can buy a 30-day roaming package for $20. But I need to buy 2 of those for both the iPhone and the Android phone. You can choose if you want the package to have unlimited text in the US or 50 minutes. (Cost $40 for 2 phones)

Or I could choose to get 2 Prepaid SIM cards for my phones. I can either choose from AT&T or
T-Mobile, but it should't be on a longterm contract! (Cost of the SIM cards themselves $? + Cost for service $?)

My last resort is using my old Verizon phone I had when I lived in the US a few years ago. It's CDMA based, so I'm not sure if it will work again, but I'd rather use my current phone.

PLEASE HELP ME WITH THESE QUESTIONS:

1) Should I get the plan that Koodo offers?
a) If yes, then the 50 min or unlimited texting?

2) If not, should I get 2 SIM cards instead?
a) If yes, should I go with AT&T or T-Mobile?
b) How much will the SIM card itself cost?
c) How much does the plan cost?
d) Is this plan long term or prepaid? (I'm looking for no contracts)

3) If not any one of the ones above, should I try using my CDMA Verizon phone?
a) If so, will it work on Verizon's network?
b) Are there any reconnection fees?

4) Any other suggestions?

GUYS I REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR TIME + HELP
IT MEANS A LOT TO ME
SO THANK YOU SO MUCH!
AND THE BEST ANSWER WILL GET 10 POINTS ;)

A. 1. Get the Koodo plan. Our prepaid plans here in the US are expensive. Plus you also need to get your phones unlocked to be used on our carriers (your phones may be carrier locked to Koodo) and if they don't unlock it, you will have to pay a third party unlocker to do it. Most prepaid plans will give you a free SIM (AT&T) or really cheap (T-Mobile for a buck). T-Mobile will probably be the cheapest with the $30/month unlimited data and text, 100 minutes voice. You would have to order their SIM online and have it shipped to you (unsure if they will ship to Canada or you can get it shipped to where you are in the USA and pick it up then and activate it online).

Your Verizon will work but their prepaid plans are expensive, but offer great coverage and service.

Can the Samsung Stratosphere be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich?

Q. I just hit the Stratosphere and was wondering if there was any way to upgrade it to 4.0
Thanks in advance.

A. sure...

when? Who knows!

But you can always root it... and wait for a custom ICS 4.0 ROM. Cyanogen is currently making CM9, which is based on ICS 4.0 SDK....... or see if XDA has a half baked ICS rom for the stratosphere....

but if you want stock updates, this will be awhile... Like i said... who knows!.... since the phone isnt as popular as the GS2 series or Galaxy NExus, Samsung will put the stratosphere on the back burner... so expect Samsung and Verizon making their stock ROM of ICS 4.0 by halloween 2012...
