How to remove keylogger from iPhone and reset to factory release?

Q. I have a friend that came to me for help. She has an iPhone 3 that apparently has a keylogger app installed on it. I'm somewhat familiar with my own rooted Android phone, but now need advice how to help her reset her phone back to original factory condition. What do I need to know, or apps to have, in order to detect and remove the keylogger app as well as restore to Apple factory standards?

Thanks.

A. Hello! Just doing a restore in iTunes will format the phone and put it to apple factory condition. But before doing that you need to make sure she's using the phone on the carrier which it's locked to. Many people are using phones locked to ATT on tMobile by jailbreaking it and unlocking the phone if this is the case, the moment you restore the phone it will only work in the carrier which the phone is locked to. If she doesn't need an unlock in order to use the phone just go ahead and restore it on itunes.

If she has a keylogger installed that means the phone is currently jailbroken allowing you to install anything you want. Immediately after restoring the phone you will no longer have a jailbroken phone so only apple approved apps will be allowed on the phone.

Also keep in mind that an iphone with older basebands have a better resale price than phones with new basebands and whenever you do a factory restore you update the phone to the latest baseband (modem firmware)

When will they have graal online classic on android phones?
Q. there is an app called graal (classic) that is only available on idevices..i was wondering if they were going to make it on android phones?

A. I'm pretty sure it's still in development. On top of that, the Android Marketplace is a rather lack-luster and dry place. Not much money is being made there due to the "open-ness" that is allowed. Granted, I love my Android and would see Graal being there as a totally positive thing, but viewed from a company's point, I can definitely see where it is an abyss of doom and destruction.

Due to the open policy of Androids Marketplace, just about anyone is able to upload and sell an App - which has led to a lot of unregulated apps that turn your phone into a paperweight (viruses, scams, keyloggers, information hacking, etc.). So right now, until Android gets it's act together, I can't say that I PERSONALLY see Graal opening up shop there.

Which in is best for educational purpose?lumia or android?
Q. i am a college student,my budget is in between Rs-5000 and 9000..suggest me a smart phone between android and lumia thats suits my need and budget..

A. Hi Tridona,

I'd recommend the Nokia Lumia 520, for around 8820Rs.
http://www.flipkart.com/nokia-lumia-520/p/itmdj5f6zyyqy6dh?pid=MOBDJ4ZNC7PTMG68&otracker=from-search&srno=t_4&query=nokia+lumia+520&ref=5e775b37-0cc9-45f9-8242-70abc04c02a5

It has Microsoft Office built in; for Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote built in. There's support for almost any email account (including Yahoo!, Microsoft and Google); with support for multiple inboxes.
It has Facebook, Twitter, Skype and Xbox also built in. There's Nokia Music for completely free and unlimited music mixes, and the world's best maps. The home screen makes it really easy to organise all your favourite people, apps and information.

It has 8GB of storage with expandable memory, a 5MP camera and a super sensitive 4" touchscreen.

Hope this helps!

Why people like android phones of samsung the most ?

Q. Samsung phones have cheap build quality, sluttery design, low quality of diplay (talking about ppi not amolded or whatever) etc (example galaxy phones especially galaxy s3)

By comparing to other android phone brand like htc and experia i come in to result that experia has better display and better build quality, better technology like bravia engine etc (example:- sony experia z)

And by comparing with htc, it have better display, htc sense for better UI,better sound quality, better camera, better looks etc example:- htc butterfly, one x+ and latest htc one)

Now i wonder what samsung have ?

A. Many people choose a phone for purchase based on what is offered by their cell phone provider. My cell phone provider offers many Samsung and LG phones and no HTC phones.
I have owned one LG phone that was a horrible phone. The next time I went to buy a phone, I choose to try a Samsung model. I had good luck with that Samsung phone. The next phone was a Samsung phone. I think that many people stick with a specific brand of phone because of brand loyalty. I own 4 Samsung models of phones. I have not had a problem with any of these phones. As long as my provider keeps selling Samsung phones. I will keep buying Samsung phones.

Should I get a new verizon android phone now or wait?
Q. I'm already due for my upgrade and I currently have an lg dare. I will stay with Verizon. Currently the top android phones in verizon lineup are Motorola Droid 2 and X, htc droid incredible, Samsung Fascinate. Should I wait or get one of these now? Heard there is an amazing htc phone called htc merge with 10 megapixel camera and a droid pro.

A. Verizon is getting Iphone in january BUT compared to an android phone is suck.

The only thing you'll be getting with an Iphone is the novelty to say... "I HAVE AN IPHONE!!"

My android can give my laptop internet access anywhere.

Plus apple is expanding because their sales are expected to drop because of Android being such a strong competitor.

Android is an affordable smart phone that almost every carrier offers therefore you'll have more connectivity with people. You can also pick up an android phone with not only touch screen but a slide out keyboard making it easier to text in class, or while driving (not that I condone it.)

Plus if something happens to it you aren't doomed to make an appointment with specialist only for them to tell you that you have to buy a new iphone.

What does it take to make android apps for the android market?

Q. I'm a 16 year old boy who is interested and inspired by another kid who is 14 and made an iphone app. So far he has made millions on his apps. I wanna create some apps and I figured the android market would probably be easiest way. What does it take to develop apps. Also would it help if I had an android phone?

A. Before going further, please note that you'll have to pay 25USD for a Google developer account in order to publish apps for the Android Market. For the iPhone AppStore (iTunes), it's even more expensive, 99$ a year minimum I think.

Now for your question:

The most easy way to develop an Android app is through the Google (Android) AppInventor since you virtually "draw" the application and graphically organize its actions and the dependencies between the screens. It's kind of like in Visual Basic if you know that already. Anyway, even if you have no experience, AppInventor is really a good way to start, it includes an emulator, and it's free of course. However, in order to package it in an .apk (to run it on a phone) or to publish on the market, it's not a straightforward step but it's possible anyway through PhoneGap for instance.

Further step would be using JavaScript programming through a platform like Appcelerator Titanium. They have developed a bridge between JavaScript and both Obj-C (iOS: iPhone/iPad) and Java (Android). So the good thing, is once you compile the app, it's usable for both iPhone/iPad and Android phones/tablets. Titanium includes emulators for all those platforms. In addition, it allows to package even for MacOS X (Apple computers) but you have to pay something for Apple, again.

Unless you already know and master Java, in that case go directly with Eclipse IDE and hard code.

But I cannot find this menu or new cheat button. Can anyone help me? And by the way this is all on an android phone.

A. you can't do that yo ucan only do it on the computer or the dsi for action replay or any other kind of device.

Android or symbian belle phone for 15000 ? 10 points?
Q. my bro is planning to buy a new phone our budget is 15k,we are considering nokia 603 coz it has 3.5 ips led screen,1ghz cpu,512 ram,hd gaming, future major updates,html5 browser coming soon for it.
So is this a good phone or is there any better android phone at the price except crappy galaxy ace.

A. Going for the Nokia is a no brainer as it has stunning hardware and legendary nokia build quality. It also feuters Symbian witch is the worlds most powerfull mobile os and could easily match the performance of a android phone with twice the power of 603. For furthir explanation of this check out some of my other awnsers.

What is a quality cheap android phone similar to an iphone/ipod touch that will meet my needs?

Q. I want a user friendly quality smartphone that is much cheaper but functions similar to an iphone, i want to send txts easily, be able to browse internet and read e books and watch videos decently and also the biggest thing is music! It will be maybe the primary reason why i use it, i'll sell my ipod touch and i love how easy it is on that so i want something similar, thanks! =]

A. A very good website to look for a cheap mobile phone is eBay. You're able to do a search for the model type, make and perhaps even the specification you want. Then filter the search results depending on the amount you would like to invest and you can either buy it instantly or possibly attempt to win with a bid on an auction. Usually auctions are a little lower priced if you happen to are successful in one.

What android phone has the best sound quality?
Q. I prefer an up and coming android phone, budget is around 500-600 USD

A. I think the Samsung Galaxy S is the Android with the best sound quality.

Perfect audio quality
Like many other things about this handset, the audio output of the Samsung I9000 Galaxy S is downright impressive. The handset was reasonably loud and scored excellently on each and every reading in our test.
The signal-to-noise ratio is impressive and so are the flawless dynamic range and frequency response.
The distortion levels are also top-notch and generally there is nothing about the Galaxy S audio quality that we can frown at. And here go the results so you can see for yourselves.

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9000_galaxy_s-review-478p6.php

The Motorola Atrix has excellent audio quality.

Excellent audio quality
The Motorola Atrix 4G audio output is pretty good, as is to be expected from a device in this price range. However Motorola seems to have allowed for its volume levels to be pushed beyond what the smartphone can actually handle when there are no headphones attached.
If you punch in the volume level all the way up when you are connected to an active external amplifier you get really loud output but with loads and loads of distortion, which is not quite ideal.
That's why you would be better off lowering the volume a couple of steps down - you will be enjoying some of the cleanest output we have ever seen. The Atrix 4G won't be one of the loudest devices around, but it scored greatly in every part of our test.
When headphones come into play the volume is automatically limited so there's nothing to worry about. There's a notable increase in the stereo crosstalk and some intermodulation distortion creeps in, but those are hardly detectable in real life scenarios.

http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_atrix_4g-review-589p7.php

Some other phones (though not Android) that has excellent or even "perfect" audio quality are...

All Iphones
Samsung S8500 Wave
The best Nokia phone in terms of sound quality is the 5800. (not that I would recommend it at this point)

Which phone should I get, the BB Bold 9700, BB Bold 9000, HTC Tilt2, or the Motorola Backflip?
Q. Normally there are good things about BBs, the 9700 being a newer model; Tilt2, Win Mobile phone, huge bright screen, touchscreen and keyboard, or the Motorla Backflip, an Android phone.

A. Depends on what you are looking for:

Business phone: HTC Tilt 2, Blackberry Bold 9700 and 9000

Messaging & Social Networking Phone: Motorola Backflip

I personally would recommend the Motorola Backflip. I have it and it is WONDERFUL! It let's me have one-touch access to my social networks and its just like an iPhone except more features, a full QWERTY and less expensive. I was actually surprised how easy the keyboard was to use and how durable it really was, despite being exposed on the outside. Texting was easy and so was mobile email and social networking. If you can't get the Backflip, I would recommend the Tilt2 as a second option.

Is there any way you can make it to where you have to type in a pass word to get onto an app?

Q. I have an iPod touch 4th generation and I want to know if there's any way I could do this Like using some kind of Cydia app or app from the app store?

A. Why?

If you have something on your phone that you want to keep private you should stop people accessing the entire thing. There is only one way you can really prevent someone accessing something, whether is be a data file or a binary file and that's encryption. I know Android has support for encryption but I don't know about iOS, especially after the state sponsored backdoor scandle in India, Apple really don;t care about the privacy of their users...

Which is the best android mobile phone in India?
Q. Rate between 300 USD and 500 USD (Rs.15000 and Rs.25000 indian rupees). It must have minimum 3.2 inches touch screen. It must have 3G and very fast GPRS (class 32 or above).
.

A. I think Google Nexus S will be the best choice for you.
It has 4 inches capacitive AMOLED touchscreen, 3G/HSDPA, 5 MP digital camera also Android 2.3 Gingerbread inside. But you can get it to home with $529 (unlocked) or $199 (locked by T-Mobile)

Should I get a real camera or camcorder for college or keep using my phone?

Q. I've mostly just used my android phone for taking pictures and the quality is pretty good. I'm going to college after this summer and I'm wondering should I get a real camera to take lots of pictures? I'm also planning to do some filming so would you recommend me to just use a regular digital camera to film or to consider getting a camcorder. Personally, I've used to have a camcorder before and really didn't like it because you had to finish filming everything and then finalize whereas with a regular digital camera, I could just film and take out clips into my computer. Any ideas?

A. You had to "finish filming everything and then finalize" because you had a DVD camcorder. A DVD camcorder is the only kind of camcorder that needs that!*

DVD, mini-DV tape and hard drive cameras are obsolescent, and analog tape camcorders are already obsolete. On today's camcorders, the videos are recorded on flash memory and you DO "just film and take out clips into your computer" just like you do on a still digital camera or a phone camera.

Most consumer/prosumer models with removable memory (some have built-in and that's it) use SDHC or SDXC cards (Sony still likes its "Memory Sticks"). You either hook the camcorder up to the computer's USB port, or on some computers (mainly laptops) you can plug the flash memory card itself right into a slot on the computer.

If you want to make some serious video, then consider a dedicated camcorder or the video capabilities of a DSLR. On a separate camera, you can get optical zoom (optical zoom actually magnifies the image by using a lens with moving elements; digital zoom loses resolution by just cropping the fixed-lens image and stretching it out by duplicating the pixels), a better microphone, better low-light sensitivity, etc. And a DSLR would give you even better low-light sensitivity and interchangeable lenses (but generally a poor microphone).

But all that being said -- your phone is probably adequate for taking snapshot pictures and for casual videography.

*(although tape-based camcorders do have an extra step known as capture [or ingest] to get the footage off the tape into a computer, the tapes can still be played without finalizing or capture/ingest)

What mp4 converter do you recommend to transfer DVD to Android phone?
Q. I have a DVD disc for my business that I would like to burn to my Android phone so I can show clients. I believe on Android devices I have to convert the video to an mp4 (not totally sure). I used VLP player to burn the DVD to my documents and now want to convert and transfer to my phone. Thanks for your help!

A. Aunsoft iMedia Converter for Mac is a perfect combination of a Mac Blu-ray Ripper and a Mac Video Converter, which can let you easily crack complicated Blu-ray/DVD encryption, backup or rip the full Blu-Ray/DVD to hard drive with original quality and enjoy on a non HDCP monitor or TV set. It can also help you to compress/rip Blu-ray/DVD movie to any other format with smaller size. And you can freely select any chapter to convert, any subtitle language to show on the video, any audio language to hear.

What’s more, Mac iMedia Converter supports converting common videos, HD videos, TV shows (*.tivo, *.dvr-ms, *.hdtv, *.tp, *.ts, *.trp), flash videos (*.flv, *.f4v), camcorder recorded videos (*.m2ts, *.mts, *.mod, *.vro, *.mvi, *.tod, etc), to MOV, M4V, AVI, MP4, MKV, MPEG, WMV, 3GP, H.264, MPG, MP3, AAC, AC3, etc to play on iPad, iPod, iPhone, Nexus one, Xbox 360, HTC series, Droid, PSP, PS3, Archos, Blackberry, etc. And its powerful editing functions, perfect audio/audio sync, fast speed, excellent quality will let you have more fun.

What is the most cost effective Android phone available in Singapore ?

Q. I am already using an e71 and am very happy with it. However I want to buy an Android phone *only* for the Android market/apps/games. So which phone should I go for, considering that Price is an important factor for my decision. It would be wonderful is Multi Touch was possible. My budget is between 300-500 S$

A. I'd recommend the HTC wildfire. Good value, plus it has all the features of a proper size Android phone.

Can I use a phone from another provider on the Virgin Mobile USA network?
Q. Virgin Mobile doesn't have any Android phones. I want to get something like the HTC Hero (normally used on Sprint) and use that phone on Virgin Mobile since VM has cheaper plans. Also, any info you can give me on their plans would be helpful. $25 per month for 300 minutes and unlimited data seems too good to be true.

A. As far as I know you have to have a Virgin phone, but I have seen ads on Craig's list advertising that they flash phones for Virgin. I've never had it done, so I don't know if it works.
The plans are sort of too good to be true, but there's no trick.
$20 200
$30 400
$50 1000
There are other deals, different amounts. Texting too, I pay $4.99 for 200 texts, and use the bonus program to get free minutes. You can get up to 6000 free minutes a year by having other people use your bonus code when they sign up for a new account online, they get a free hour and so do you.
There is no charge if you don't use your phone. (I used to have Verizon prepaid and was charged $1 per day if I used it or not) You just have to put $20 on your account every 3 months to keep it current. If you don't put the $20 on your service will be turned off, but you have 60 days after that to save your account and keep your phone number.

If your do go with Virgin here is my code:
dGusqu0H

Just copy and paste, it's case sensitive.

There are Android Budget Phones (NO Contract) Around £99 Uk Like the T-Mobile Pulse Mini That runs Android 2.1 with 2.2 Possible on it 2.8 inch screen as it is Small it Requires the stylus for on screen Keyboard and underpowered at around 300 MHZ.

But A Better Choice would be Orange San Francisco (also Known as ZTE Blade) 600 Mhz It Runs 3d Games like Armageddon Squadron and Asphalt 5 And Big Enough Screen at 3.5 inches.

Should I get an iPhone 4 or Samsung Infuse 4G?

Q. I know lots of people with iPhones, plus I have an iPod Touch which is kind of like an iPhone so Im very familiar with them, but ive never used an Infuse 4G or any Android phone. Is it any better? Is it worth buying? What are the pros and cons of it compared to an iPhone?

A. Get the galaxy tab, there already working on “ice cream sandwich” (android 4.0), which will unite all android Smartphone’s and tablets.

I prefer android over apple for the reason that its open-source, that means that the majority of the apps are free, and you get more revolutionary and cutting edge apps. And do things are even only barely available on a jail broken iphone
The android market already has 250000(only 300 specifically for tablet) apps- closing in on apple 500000; some say it will surpass it before the year is over. Also any popular ipad game or game adaptation can be found in the android market for free.
Another great thing about android as that if you dont like something (keyboard, homescreen, etc.) it can easily be swapped without jail-breaking, unlike the ipads one-size-fits-all approach.

Galaxy tab over ipad
Turn-by-turn voice GPS
Better higher resolution screen, with PLS technology (30% brighter)
No need to connect to computer to sync
More customizable
More powerful hardware
Flash support, watch ALL the online videos
Better cameras
Lighter and thinner
Widgets

Apple lovers that say that the ipad is made of better quality material? They don’t realize that Samsung, an android phone/tablet maker, supply’s the screen, processor and memory for apple devices, so android has the advantage here.

Also apple never invents anything, there never “the first”. All they do is steal old technology, give it a fresh coat of paint and mass advertise it as “magical” and “innovating”, thus fooling the mass of the population into believing that apple offers cutting edge technology, that in fact has been around for quite a few years.
So instead of innovating, apple actually hinders technology- after 4 years they still have low-power single core phones and tablets, while android, an example of technology in overdrive, has rumored that, after their second year, the release of quad core phones and tablets that will surpass even some desktop computers in shear processing power.

Apple should now feel pretty worried; android has passed it in market share
http://www.businessinsider.com/android-iphone-market-share-2011-4

Then apple panics and sues
http://www.dailytech.com/Google+ExCEO+Apple+Doesnt+Innovate+They+Sue/article22190.htm
The funny thing is that apple can’t sue for being the first touchscreen or tablet, because they weren’t,(Nokia fist touch screen, “archos” first tablet) so instead they sue for much more relevant things like, “the rounded icon corners” and “having a flat screen” or “the square shape of the phone”……..

To top it all, if you’ve seen apples 2011 presentation, they blatantly copied over five "new" features that were previously on android.
http://androidandme.com/2011/06/news/five-features-in-ios-5-that-show-how-apple-is-now-playing-catch-up-to-google/

http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/06/apple-introduces-ios5-with-notifications-ota-updates-and-tabbed-browsing-android-users-giggle-at-their-late-arrival/
1. Notification bar
2. Twitter integration
3. No need to connect to PC to sync
4. Launch apps from lock screen
5. Tabbed browsing

And not only are they copies, but apple didn’t even bother to improve, or change some of them in any way- some even have LESS features than their android counter parts, it’s basically a cheap imitation with the ever-popular ipad skin.
According to Steve jobs, these "revolutionary" new technologies that android users had since 2007 will be available on IOS5, and it would not surprise me to see some more android features from 2008 on IOS6.But the truly sad part is that due to apples marketing, in a few months, apple lovers will really think that apple invented those features and call android the copycats…yet again.

Though I suppose Google should’ve seen it coming….

When you have a At&T android phone dose it cost extra to download the apps from android market and use them?
Q. When i say download apps i mean free apps, like dose at&t charge extra for the download and use of them? What about blackberry? And Iphone? Do they charge extra too? Which one is better, Android, blackberry, or iphone?

A. it depends, some apps you have to pay for, but you dont have to pay to download them- they only use data from your data plan which you pay for. (but you can use wifi instead).
and no you don't have to pay to use them, that is unless their online/multiplayer games, but the again you can just use wifi

I prefer android over apple for the reason that its open-source, that means that the majority of the apps are free, and you get more revolutionary and cutting edge apps. And do things are even only barely available on a jail broken iphone
The android market already has 250000 apps- closing in on apple 500000; some say it will surpass it before the year is over. Also any popular iphone game or game adaptation can be found in the android market for free.
Another great thing about android as that if you dont like something (keyboard, homescreen, etc.) it can easily be swapped without jail-breaking, unlike the iphones one-size-fits-all approach.

Security
Both Iphone and android offer equal security, though they have different means of doing it.
iphone, verifies all the apps so you can’t get a virus through an app, but the rest of the phone is semi-vulnerable.
Android does not check the apps, but the apps are run in an isolated way, as to not affect the system in event of a virus.
So both phones are equally prone to viruses (and if this a big deal for you, android has a antivirus app, which iphone does not)

Other features only on android
Turn-by-turn GPS
Better and larger screen
No need to connect to computer to sync
Here is a big one, add a sd card
Better calls
More customizable
More powerful hardware
Flash support, watch ALL the online videos

Apple lovers that say that the iphone is made of better quality material? They don’t realize that Samsung, an android phone maker, supply’s the screen, processor and memory for apple devices, so android has the advantage here.

The iphone is pretty, but not durable, drop it once- it breaks, all that glass around it? That was honestly a mistake. Android manufactures clearly saw that, and decided to do with something a little more durable.

Also apple never invents anything, all they do is steal old technology, give it a fresh coat of paint and mass advertise it as “magical” and “innovating”, thus fooling the mass of the population into believing that apple offers cutting edge technology, that in fact has been around for quite a few years. So instead of innovating, apple actually hinders technology- after 4 years they still have low-power single core phones, while android, an example of technology in overdrive, has rumored that, after their second year, the release of quad core phones that will surpass even some desktop computers in shear processing power.

Also if you’ve seen apples 2011 presentation, they blatantly copied over five "new" features that were previously on android.

1. Notification bar
2. Twitter integration
3. No need to connect to PC to sync
4. Launch apps from lock screen
5. Tabbed browsing

And not only are they copies, but apple didn’t even bother to improve, or change some of them in any way- some even have LESS features than their android counter parts, it’s basically a cheap imitation with the ever-popular iphone skin.

What android phone do you think is the best out right now?
Q. I am at the end of my contract with AT&T right now, been thinking of switching to Verizon, but what I am looking at more than anything is the best Android phone available or upcoming and I want to see your suggestions and opinions.

A. I was just googling and came across this product hope it helps you

What android phone should is good to these standards?

Q. an up to date touch screen w/ optional keyboard text.
are there any phones out there like this anymore? are they all 100% touch screen now?
i say android because im with T.Mobile. can android phones be jailbroken like iphones so I can be able to down apps for free?
an android phone I can slip my sim card and and start using right away w/o paying for internet

A. Ok... So... To the first question:

a) About the keyboard in latest phones.... Well that is definitely a tough one! But there are still a few options available. These are some of them that are relatively up to date... ( I interpreted an up to date phone (android) as one that is running on android Ice cream sandwich 4.0.x or higher with a fair hardware power) :

- Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330:
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_chat_b5330-4866.php

- Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II I415:
http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_stratosphere_ii_i415-5124.php

- LG Mach LS860:
http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_mach_ls860-5032.php

- Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE
http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_photon_q_4g_lte-4885.php

second:

b) Yes, android phones can be ROOTED (root = jailbreak for android, to make it simple), BUT you don't need to root your phone in order to be able to download *free* apps ( *cough google search for "alternatives to google play store" cough *).

third:
You won't be able to use data connection in a phone if you are not paying for that service to some carrier.
In order to be able to use any SIM card in your phone ( from different carriers) your phone has to be carrier unlocked, means that you did not buy it subsidized by any carrier via a contract. If your phone is carrier locked, you can still root it to unlock it or sometimes the carriers will let you pay some fee for them to unlock it via IMEI .

Hope this was helpfull! sorry if I didn't explain myself vastly but I'm in a hurry hehe! Good luck finding your phone!

How do I get my android installed on my labtop?
Q. I pulled out an old labtop which is probably 5 years old(im guessing) and tried to hook up my android phone(htc droid eris). When it tried to install the hardware for it to work it couldn't find anything. It is a compaq presario v2140us. Please help me.

A. It depends what OS you are running. You need to get the drivers for mass storage drives, because the phone installs as a mass storage device (like an external hard drive). If you are running XP, they should have been included. Otherwise you can download them.

what is the best android phone from metro pcs?

Q. hi all, i have been looking and phones and want some opinions.... there are a lot of nice phones out there but i am wondering about:

Coolpad Quattro™ 4G

LG Connect 4G

HTC Wildfire S™

thanks!

A. The best in my mind is Lg Connect 4G,but see for yourself
If you've never lived in China, then chances are you've never heard of smartphone maker Coolpad. The company, which is a major mobile player across the Pacific (Coolpad outsells Apple there by a wide margin), hopes to make the jump to the United States with the Quattro 4G ($79 contract-free from metroPCS as of 10/2/2012), its first smartphone offering here. Though the phone has speedy 4G LTE and a good-sized 4-inch display, the Quattro 4G's clunky feel, outdated operating system, and poor camera won't make Coolpad a household name here any time soon.

ne of the recent phones to be released by the Taiwanese mobile giant HTC is the HTC Wildfire S. It is primarily meant to be a budget class Android phone and it has really served the purpose. It caught our attention at first sight and we have loved the phone ever since. So we thought we would give it our full attention and focus on the pros and cons of the HTC Wildfire S. So, here is the list of pros and cons of the phone.

Pros:

The phone has really excellent design and dimension specifics of 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 mm lengthwise, breadthwise and by thickness respectively. The device weighs a mere 105g which competed with all the devices in the market today.

The TFT capacitive touchscreen is actually miserly but given the cost of the phone, we feel it is pretty much worth it! We have always loved the HTC Sense UI and it is the same in this phone too.

The microSD expansion of the phone’s memory can be done up to 32GB which is really awesome but we were pissed with the internal memory specifics of the phone. We will come to that in the cons section. Still, we loved the RAM of the phone which is a pretty decent 512MB one.

The camera is a pretty decent 5MP shooter which can shoot good pictures at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, has features like autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, etc. VGA video recording is also possible at 24 fps, in the phone.

Unlike the LG phones, the HTC Wildfire S runs on the most advanced version of the Android operating system, the Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) and this is one of the features we love most about the phone.

Cons:

Of course, the phone has its own set of bad qualities too. Some of them are manifested in the form of bad processor, bad battery, etc. HTC, learn fast!

The processor of the phone is a really simple 600 MHz processor which can be easily beaten even by a Nokia 5130 Xpress Music phone (remember those red phones which caused quite a furore when they were released)

We also hate the speeds of GPRS and EDGE, which are 114 kbps and 560 kbps respectively. I mean come on, you can give us better speeds for the money we are paying. The phone isn’t that cheap!

The battery of the phone really sucks! The 1230 lithium ion fuel is no match for the rate at which Android is growing virulently! A powerful battery is a must have in all phones and HTC simply does not seem to understand this basic fact as far as mobile phones are concerned!

Anyone looking for a budget Android device; buy this one and you’ll not regret it!

Is there a good keyboard app for androids phones?

Q. I have a droid 2 and I was wondering if there was any good FREE keyboard apps.

A. I tried them all and so far Slider keyboard is my fave

Can you recommend an Android phone with a keyboard?
Q. I currently have a Motorola Dext (EU version of Motorola Cliq) which I dearly love. But it is starting to show it's age & Motorola refuse to upgrade these past Android 1.5. I know these can be cracked & updated but I couldn't make it work & it's really not worth paying someone to crack such an old phone.

What I Love: Android, large screen, slide out keyboard.
What I hate: Crap battery life, No updates & therefore poor app compatibility

What I would really like to replace it with is more up to date version of the same thing, i.e. another slide out keyboard design, but there are so few on the market. Can people recommend some phones for me to look at.

A. The Samsung Galaxy Smart has a slideout qwerty, as does the HTC Shift something or other... these are both really reliable and advanced smartphones.
The thing with updates is that no phone is going to CONTINUE getting updates, because at some point any phone will be outdated. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is IT right now, so of course it's getting updates... but in a year, that phone will be really old, and might not be getting new Android updates anymore. So just choose a phone you're happy with, and don't worry too much about the updating feature.
One thing, though... I understand why a lot of people want physical qwerty keyboards, but I'd have to say I've converted from that, thanks to the text input method called Swype. Read about it here: http://howdoyouandroid.com/2012/11/how-do-you-use-swype-keyboard.html It's SO much easier than any of those lame virtual keyboards, and actually is pretty close to as fast as typing on a computer keyboard, even if you're up there around 120 wpm.
Last point, about batteries... tbh, smartphones have pretty lame battery life right now. But I've totally overcome that problem, by following this method: http://howdoyouandroid.com/2012/11/how-do-you-deal-with-battery-that.html
Feel free to comment there, if you have any more Android questions!
