im going to thailand and im wondering how much a cheap iphone 4 would cost?

Q. im not looking to spend more than 100 aud

A. at the top level of jungceylon in patong phuket they are 26000 thai baht.
i was thinking maybe they would be cheaper in thailand but i found most apple products were generally about the same price as they are here in australia.
however if your interested in other brands you can get some great deals.
i bought a samsung galaxy mini running android for 5700 thai baht unlocked (about 170aud) and im not sure about now but 1 month ago this wasn't yet released in australia. its the best phone ive ever had. i also bought this laptop acer aspire for 20000 baht which is about 1/4 of what the equivelant would cost here in australia.
its good if you shop around but dont expect $100 iphone4's to be falling from the sky.
as somebody else mentioned, be weary of fakes. Some of those fakes look pretty original.

What should I buy, Samsung Galaxy S3 or iPhone 5?
Q. I'm getting a new phone next week (Thursday) and I really need to decide which one is better. My current phone is a Blackberry Bold and my dad thinks that iPhones are better since they have greater value than the Samsung.

So please help me which to buy. I'm really confused. Btw, I never really had an iPhone and any Galaxy S series but I have an iTouch 4. And most of the people are buying iPhone 5 now. My friends has iPhone 5 or even the iPhone 4s now.

A. Don't be mainstream!
I hate it when people are like this on Facebook/Twitter:
"Ermagherd, check it out a iPhone i'm so hipsterrrrrr #swag #yolo"

Anyway, Samsung Galaxy S3 is better value than iPhone 5, why? Here are some manufacturing costs for you to consider:
iPhone 5: $207 for basic 16GB (estimate: IHS)
Samsung Galaxy S3: Around $200.

Now, consider outright price:
iPhone 5: $649
Galaxy S3: ~$410.

Hence, Galaxy S3 better value for money.

Better value for features too:
iPhone 5
Apple Maps (not a feature, a negative, really.)
Passbook (Does not work for us here in Australia, not a feature.)
App Store (Ok, real plus)
Facebook App actually works.
Retina Display (not a feature anymore, really with 1080p phones now available).
Siri (Still broken)

Galaxy S3
S Voice (Very Very broken)
Play Store (Some second rate apps there).
Google Maps. (Good)
Smart Stay (Gimmick)
S-Whatever (All Gimmicks)
NFC (Good, you can use your phone as a travelcard)
SuperAmoled Display (Depends on whether you like them or not).

Ok, so about even on good vs useless features (Those are the ones I know off the top of my head).

If you can wait another 2 or 3 weeks, get the Galaxy S4, it's better than the iPhone 5 by a long shot.
And you have an iTouch 4, so you don't need an iPhone
(I have the same deal, iTouch for Apple account cause I got lots of iTunes stuff, and Galaxy S2 cause I like Android).

Which is better - iPhone or Android?

Q. *prepares for cell phone war*

A. Android, hands down.

Android OS is available on multiple platforms, giving the customer more variety for hardware. Some with slide out keyboards, some with not. While specs may not be a huge deal to the average cell phone user, most new phones with Android surpass the iPhone far as hardware goes.

You're locked in with Apple, that's one thing I can't stand about ALL Apple products. I like the freedom to choose to do what I want with my computer/phone/mp3 player whatever. It's like buying a new car off the lot and the dealership telling you that you can only buy custom parts from them.

I can go on and on... While iPhones are cool, I'll take my Android any day over iPhone. Check out my latest post on 21 new Android apps for 2012 at my blog:

Oh yeah.. and don't forget 10 features that Android did before the iPhone :)

Quadcore 4G Qwerty Phones?
Q. I was wondering if anyone had any info about upcoming quadcore 4G smartphones, particular if they'll be on Verizon or if they'll have a physical qwerty keyboard.

I just got an iPhone 4S and I CANNOT WAIT to sell it and upgrade to a quadcore ANDROID phone.

I could've gotten a Rezound or Droid Razr, but they are too big for my small pants. thanks!

A. well were not quite at quadcore yet with android smartphones, (still at dualcore, but some tablets are quad core) but the first quadcore androids will probably be released in early 2012, Im keeping my eyes out for the galaxy s3, I currently have the s2 and its the best phone ive ever had.

as for a qwerty keyboard the Samsung stratosphere has a nice keyboard, as well as the DROID 3.

Verizon 4g Network/Android Phone?

Q. My contract on Verizon ends this December, and I am looking at getting a new phone(Android). I am looking at the HTC Merge, but I am also hearing rumors about an HTC Droid Incredible HD. When is Verizon's 4g network supposed to be released, and if I should wait until then to get a phone. I don't want to get a phone and then have it go out of style in 2 months.

A. I highly recommend you with HTC Droid Incredible, it's a great phone. I can provide you with an opinion from an actual user from where you can find the good points about the cell phone. Here is the link:

Making 3D stuff for Android phones?
Q. Hi! My coworker is currently studying Java and we are planning to make a 3D live wallpaper. Now I'm wondering what programs can be used, what kind of file extenstion and what settings? I have some experience with Cinema4D and a little using Google Sketch. I assume they are usable, but looking for more info, since it seems hard to find decent information for beginners.

A. I personally think it is easier to just implement a custom file format and then write a plugin that exports your Cinema4D scene to that custom file format. If you don't want to write a plugin you can also go through an intermediate format like COLLADA (.DAE) or FBX. This way you can easily support a multitude of 3D packages - many support COLLADA and FBX now - with just a single tool. In the worst case you can also load your models from a COLLADA file in your app, although COLLADA isn't really the best choice for this task.

Anyway, you are responsible for loading the data from file and putting them into the appropriate place. You decide what layout your data should have.

what is the best android phone from metro pcs?

Q. hi all, i have been looking and phones and want some opinions.... there are a lot of nice phones out there but i am wondering about:

Coolpad Quattro 4G

LG Connect 4G

HTC Wildfire S

thanks!

A. The best in my mind is Lg Connect 4G,but see for yourself
If you've never lived in China, then chances are you've never heard of smartphone maker Coolpad. The company, which is a major mobile player across the Pacific (Coolpad outsells Apple there by a wide margin), hopes to make the jump to the United States with the Quattro 4G ($79 contract-free from metroPCS as of 10/2/2012), its first smartphone offering here. Though the phone has speedy 4G LTE and a good-sized 4-inch display, the Quattro 4G's clunky feel, outdated operating system, and poor camera won't make Coolpad a household name here any time soon.

ne of the recent phones to be released by the Taiwanese mobile giant HTC is the HTC Wildfire S. It is primarily meant to be a budget class Android phone and it has really served the purpose. It caught our attention at first sight and we have loved the phone ever since. So we thought we would give it our full attention and focus on the pros and cons of the HTC Wildfire S. So, here is the list of pros and cons of the phone.

Pros:

The phone has really excellent design and dimension specifics of 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 mm lengthwise, breadthwise and by thickness respectively. The device weighs a mere 105g which competed with all the devices in the market today.

The TFT capacitive touchscreen is actually miserly but given the cost of the phone, we feel it is pretty much worth it! We have always loved the HTC Sense UI and it is the same in this phone too.

The microSD expansion of the phones memory can be done up to 32GB which is really awesome but we were pissed with the internal memory specifics of the phone. We will come to that in the cons section. Still, we loved the RAM of the phone which is a pretty decent 512MB one.

The camera is a pretty decent 5MP shooter which can shoot good pictures at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, has features like autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, etc. VGA video recording is also possible at 24 fps, in the phone.

Unlike the LG phones, the HTC Wildfire S runs on the most advanced version of the Android operating system, the Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) and this is one of the features we love most about the phone.

Cons:

Of course, the phone has its own set of bad qualities too. Some of them are manifested in the form of bad processor, bad battery, etc. HTC, learn fast!

The processor of the phone is a really simple 600 MHz processor which can be easily beaten even by a Nokia 5130 Xpress Music phone (remember those red phones which caused quite a furore when they were released)

We also hate the speeds of GPRS and EDGE, which are 114 kbps and 560 kbps respectively. I mean come on, you can give us better speeds for the money we are paying. The phone isnt that cheap!

The battery of the phone really sucks! The 1230 lithium ion fuel is no match for the rate at which Android is growing virulently! A powerful battery is a must have in all phones and HTC simply does not seem to understand this basic fact as far as mobile phones are concerned!

Anyone looking for a budget Android device; buy this one and youll not regret it!

Will virgin mobile usa get any new android phones for christmas 2011? ?
Q. I have the samsung intercept (which btw worst phone ever).........and I don't like the design of the motorola triumph so I'm holding out until vmusa gets better phones.

A. For any new phones coming out soon for the USA market with their monthly plan to my knowledge is no. The last phone to come out was the HTC Wildfire S a couple weeks ago. Rumors of more phones point to no more phones until February or later 2012. You never know what a company is up to though........

Suggest me best android mobile in india?

Q. I need the following.... please suggest me cheap and best android mobile in india which is less than 12k...

1. 3G with front camera
2. wifi
3. android
4. back cam >3 MP
5. full touch
6. sensors

thank you...

A. Unfortunately, no budget Android phone actually has a front facing camera (only the high end expensive models do for some kind of reason). One I could suggest is the LG Optimus One which is a very nice budget Android handset I can easily suggest.

1. 3G
2. Wi-Fi
3. Android 2.2 (can be updated to 2.3 in certain countries and more to come)
4. 3 MP Camera
5. Full Touch Screen
6. Accelerometer Sensor and Proximity Sensor

Which is the best android mobile phone in India?
Q. Rate between 300 USD and 500 USD (Rs.15000 and Rs.25000 indian rupees). It must have minimum 3.2 inches touch screen. It must have 3G and very fast GPRS (class 32 or above).
.

A. I think Google Nexus S will be the best choice for you.
It has 4 inches capacitive AMOLED touchscreen, 3G/HSDPA, 5 MP digital camera also Android 2.3 Gingerbread inside. But you can get it to home with $529 (unlocked) or $199 (locked by T-Mobile)

why are all the android phones copies of the Iphone?

Q. Please don't get all harsh, I know that android was in production at the same time as OS for the iphone but can we think about it. Look at all the new phones... they all look like the Iphone, and the app pages look exactly the same. But they just can't get the touch screen to be any good... and it seems that google has been copying everything lately.. making a computer os that looks about the same as OSX, the Google TV, I mean for God sake they even called it the same thing.... when apple clearly had the apple TV, and when the Iphone OS came out, as did Android... just saying.. why isn't apple suing?

A. All android phones don't look like iphones. I have a Droid X. It has a 4.3" display that makes an iphone look like a wristwatch.

The HTC Evo and a lot of the others do. I will give you that. But, what are android phones supposed to be? Triangle shaped? A phone is basically a phone.

As for operating systems, the basic difference is Apple treats theirs as if you need a security clearance to customize, or write an app for it. That's not even to mention refusing to "allow" Adobe Flash, or Java on their browser, or refusing to allow iphone users to do simple things like download YouTube videos to their phone memory.

When it comes down to it, you don't "own" an iphone, you use it. You own an android phone and you can upgrade memory and battery, enter text on your touchscreen with Swype, download 3rd party music, and on and on.

Iphones are nice. Just not something I'd spend money on.

Is the HTC Desire Z a good phone?

Q. I'm thinking of getting a new phone - my contract ends next month!
Just wondering if this phone is any good?
If not, which is a good phone?
I'm trying to avoid blackberry, iphone and samsung (have one now, and it just has SO many software issues!)
Thanks!

A. It all boils down to personal taste.
I've owned a BB, iphone, Nokia smartphones within the past 1.5 years and can absolutely tell that I love my Desire Z the most out of them all. It is also one of the better Android phones until now and the HTC Sense + physical keyboard is unbeatable. Most of the time I use the phone as a Wifi hotspot and tether to my laptop.
The only downside is the battery life which you most probably will have to charge every night - with intensive use it might last you only half a day.

If you ask me, this is my most satisfied phone to date.

which phone, samsung galaxy s, htc desire z or blackberry bold 9780?
Q. which pphone should i get i need help im confused

A. It depends. All of those three phones are really nice. It's really more of a personal opinion and what fits your needs.

The Samsung Galaxy S phones (Galaxy S is a series of phones) usually have a 4-inch AMOLED touchscreen which are great. They are more vivid than most other touchscreens. They also use Android OS (the latest one is Gingerbread (2.3) although only the new Nexus S is officially using that, all other phones for now are on Froyo (2.2)) which is a very nice OS. It uses the Android Market which has around 100,000 apps and counting. The only difference between these phones from other Android devices is they are skinned with Samsung's theme along with the hardware differences (by that I mean physical differences of the phone). I find Samsung's theme a bit kid-oriented compared to the stock one. Also most Samsung Galaxy S devices feature a plastic build, which make it very light but also have a cheap feeling along with it.

The HTC Desire Z (The G2) is also an Android phone although it gives you the the stock Android experience (which is a good thing). No themes or whatever. Also uses the Android Market. Only difference is it's made by HTC, has a more metallic feel to it, and features a sliding keyboard although it's a bit thicker. It's also heavier and such.

The Blackberry Bold 9780 on the other hand, feature RIM's newest OS which is OS 6. It features the same internals as the Blackberry Torch (The 624MHz processor and 512MB of RAM) while being housed in the traditional Blackberry Bold casing. No touchscreen though, all trackpad and keyboard operated. The trackpad is really nice, the build quality is really superior, it has a very light but durable feeling onto it. Also the keyboard is amazing, one of the best you'll ever try on a mobile device. Still despite those nice perks it comes with some downsides too, the App World does not have as many apps as the Android Market (around 20,000) and it doesn't feature an accelerometer so games that make use of that are not accessible (racing games and such where you turn the device sideways to control). Still it's by far the best trackpad/keyboard based device I've ever used. I like it better than the Blackberry Torch. Another thing is, when you get a Blackberry, you can also make use of the Blackberry Internet Service plan (availability varies depending on network) which pushes all your email in real-time (meaning as soon as you get an email it shows up on your phone). It's a phone more oriented towards business, messaging, rather than fun and games.

By the way Android OS is a very flexible operating system. Most phones using Android OS can be modified several ways by using custom ROMS to use a build of Android from other phones (like an EVO Android build on a Galaxy S). XDA-developers is a huge community dedicated to modding Android and Windows Mobile OS. Let's just say Android is a very customizable operating system. Just keep that in mind. Still customization depends on the phone since some manufacturers put restrictions to restrict modifications however hackers usually break the restrictions soon.

If it was me I'd go with the HTC Desire Z but I really like the Samsung Galaxy S's display.

Samsung Galaxy S devices include the Captivate (for AT&T), Vibrant (for T-Mobile), and the Galaxy Tab (for all four carriers).

iOS 5 vs Android: what is your opinion?

Q. Which is better? If you could choose between an iPad 2 and an awesome Android tablet, which would you choose? What about iPhone vs Android phones?

What I'm really trying to ask is: Are Apple products the best like most people say? I prefer Android, but then again, I have never used an iPhone or iPad.

A. well to be honest with you both android phones has its pros and cons and iphones have the pros and cons, it really depends on the person. so far i have had the iphone 4 and i now have the htc mytouch 4.

when i had my iphone 4 i love the picture quality and the video recording was amazing i mean the picture and video quality was the best i have ever seen till this day. not only the the battery life on iphone 4 was amazing compared to what i have seen on most android phones.i like the fact that u could watch netflix on the iphone 3 3g 3gs and 4 because i am a movie head and i want to be able watch some shows or movies on the go. that was also a major thing that i liked about the iphone4. the sound quality was pretty cool, but the only complaints i would say was that u couldn't freely update the flash for web browsing like till this day you cant view and play videos on certain websites on the iphone but those same website can be viewed on the droid without complication . i mean iphone it is the best phone out there most phones don't compare to me.

the mytouch 4g is a cool phone for an android phone, i mean you don't need to have itunes to put your music and videos in it witch is great because you just drag and drop. there are more aps on the android market than there is on the app store but the app store to me have apps that matter. maybe its just me but when i found out that android did not have a netflix app i was disappointed. because the netflix app was the only app that i use on a regular basis. but maybe its just me. I also like thate you can select many media players from the android market to play your music or videos from certain websites which is cool. i actually found an app on the android market for vlc player which alows you to play mkv files. the android phones has many customizable feature to it like the theme, the back ground, the video player and many more you can change at free will without hacking or doing all the excessive procedures to it to get what you want it to look like. the one very bad that i will say about android phone is the battery life sucks be prepared to always run the charge your phone when ever you use certain key features like background data, android market, web browsing. the battery life its nothing compared to the iphone trust me on that. but like i said it depends on the user.

if apple wasn't so stuck to att and verizon, i would love to get a no contract plan with my iphone but since droid phones have a lot of phone that you can pretty much connect with multiple providers and gain full access to its features then i would stay with the android till iphone has something else other than verizon and att.

Which phone should I get out of these? (Koodo mobile)?

Q. HTC One V, LG Optimus Black or the Samsung Galaxy Ace?
Here is the koodo site where you can see all the specs of the phones. I want to know which ones you guys would recommend, based on your experiences or maybe your friend had one of them?
https://shop.koodomobile.com/koodo-cell-phones/android/c99999903-cAndroid-p0.html

A. Hello.

I would definitely go for the HTC One V. It is the newest phone out of the three because it runs the newest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The other two are on Android 2.3 which is slow compared to ICS.

Let's look at screen size as well because the larger it is means the less strain on your eyes when you view it.
1. HTC One V - 3.7 inch WVGA
2. LG Optimus Black - 4 inch NOVA
3. Samsung Galaxy Ace - 3.5 inch HVGA

There isn't much difference between the screen types so don't worry about that. NOVA is basically the same as WVGA and the difference between WVGA and HVGA is small. The best screens right now are AMOLED anyways so that's another story...
Having said that, HTC One V's 3.7 inch screen is a good compromise from the 4 inch LG Optimus Black. The faster Android ICS will more than make up for the only 0.3 inch difference.

Hope this helps!

Does Koodo save MMS phone records?
Q. I have a Samsung Galaxy S II X android phone and I was wondering if the provider, Koodo saves MMS records of all the pictures the owner has sent AND received. Please help!!

A. Anything that goes thru koodo servers would likely be saved for legal purposes but you'd need a court order to get access to those records.

Plz suggest a good android smartphone around 8000 rs. ?

Q. also give ur review on samsung galaxy pop?? does it supports adobe flash player ??? can i watch live TV in it ???

A. The Samsung Galaxy Pop does support Flash, since it is shipped with Android 2.2 (Froyo) it is automatically Flash enabled. It looks like a fairly decent device, I would recommend you getting it. As for television, most likely, yes. You would most likely have to try and find an Application on the Android market that let's to do that. The device is 9000 RS no? Since the phone seems like the one of the lower end ones, I don't think you can get much lower with an Android powere device. I suggest you get the Samsung Galaxy Pop.

Should I sell my Smart Phone?
Q. Is it a good idea to sell a Symbian Belle Smartphone worth Rs 15000 (6 months old) for an Android 4.0 Smartphone worth Rs 6500 INR. I wanna know if features really outweigh money? I mean, is it better to have a phone that costs Rs 15000 INR, does all the basic stuff I need or a phone that does everything (basic + what Symbian cant do) and costs less than Rs 7000 INR.
Im talking about Nokia 701 and Micromax A89 Ninja. Should I get it selling off my Nokia 701 or keep my 701 cuz of the Price Factor (its higher priced and Im really conscious about it).

Ill have to compromise on lot of stuff if I get the A89, like Build Quality (currently dust gets under the display of my Nokia 701 though), Brand Factor (you know how people are conscious about brands these days), Camera Quality (I know Micromax really sucks in this category), etc.

So my main motives behind selling off my Nokia 701 are-
- Its Symbian (lack of Apps)
- Its has smaller display (3.5 vs 4 on A89)
- Dust gets under the Display (Repaired it twice, but no success)

And my motives behind getting A89 are-
- Its Android
- Larger Screen

And the reasons that are holding me off from getting A89 are-
- Its lower Priced
- Ive to ignore the camera as if it never existed (very poor quality compared to Nokia 701)
- Brand Status, Micromax vs Nokia
- Customer Support

Ill get no more than Rs 9000 INR selling off my Nokia 701 so my Budget is Rs 9000 INR (I cannot extend my budget). What should I do? What have you done if you were in place of me? Any Suggestions? Thanks in Advance for your answers.

A. I dont know why you think Symbian lacks apps. There's a lot on ovi store and other third party app sites; and since newer symbian os has backward compatibility, there's millions of apps from the beginning of symbian that you can use.

Unlike Symbian, its easier to create apps for Android and hence every Tom Dick and Harry have an android app. Most of these apps are just useless and is only an "ad-carrier" created for developers to make money from ads shown thru apps. So you need to come up with a list of apps that you probably need and then check the availability of the same with Symbian, iOS, Android and Windows and then decide for yourself which OS you want to go for.

For picking a mobile, your current selection of Micromax is not a good choice. I would have recommended that phone if you are just looking to buy your first smartphone and with a small budget. But after going thru your reasons for selling the current mobile, I'm sure that Ninja A89 would only disappoint you. If your budget is low, then try to get a used Samsung Galaxy, SE Xperia for Android or iPhone, Nokia Lumia, HTC for other operating systems. You dont have to compromise anything just to get to Android OS.

Oh and btw, 701 wasn't a good phone from Nokia. You could have bought the N8 instead which has better features and build quality. The higher hardware specs of 701 isn't reflected onto end user performance for some reason.

Android phone question?

Q. ok so i have a LG OPTIMUS android phone and it has 2.2 froyo. i saw an app called gingerbread and searched some videos its the 2.3 right so if i download this app does it just change the look or does it add all the new things that were added in 4.3?

A. Gingerbread isn't an app, it's a whole new version of Android - 2.3 to be exact, so it's a newer version than the 2.2 Froyo that you currently have.

However, because it's a complete operating system and not just a normal app, you can't just download and install it like you can with an app.

Instead, you have two choices:

- Wait for an update to come from your phone company; if that happens, one day your phone will show a message telling you it is ready to update to 2.3, and if you accept it'll all happen automatically in a few minutes. Whether this will ever happen, and when, depends on LG and your phone company. To find out more you could google "LG Optimus 2.3 update" and see what you get.

- Root your phone, then install a 2.3 ROM specifically for your phone (if one exists - there are different programmers out there who - because they are cool and have the time to do it - make
custom updates for phones). But rooting and installing ROMs is a lot more complicated than installing apps and if you make a mistake, you can mess up your phone permanently. Rooting also voids your phone's warranty, even if the phone is still working fine.

P.S. Rooting is the same as jailbreaking. It's just that in Android-land it's called rooting, but in iPhone land it's called jailbreaking. Either way, what you are basically doing is breaking through the safeguards that are normally built into the operating system to prevent you from making too many changes to the phone.

A problem with my android phone.PLZ answer!?
Q. i have Alcatel one touch pixi wich android is 2.3.6 but i cannot run new games like the new version of subway surfers, temple run, call of duty strike team and a lot of games. When i google the problem i discovered that new games were not able to run due to the old version of android and i founded suggestions to buy galaxy s4 and alcatel one touch xpop but i can't because my pocket canoot handle it.
And i also founded suggestions to root my mobile but it didn't work while it worked with hundread of persons using alcatel onetouch pixi (the model i have) why it didn't work i don't know. tried the mobile fota upgrade and it didn't work. PLZ tell me am i doing something wrong? (all of these attemps to get android 4.0 or higher) My mobile have 1ghz cpu and 500mb ram and i am sure it can handle android 4.0 because galaxy s4 wich has an android 4.3 has the same specifications as my mobile. Whats going on? PLZ help me i need to upgrade it as fast as possible. Any links to download an android upgrader? (Without survey) you can also give me torrents plz?
Note: There is no alcatel center behing my neighboor and mobiles centers or shops tell me that i need to go to the alcatel center wich is in another city. No suggestions to buy a mobile.

A. An android upgrader? If a file you're looking for you can only find it with surveys it means it's more than likely a scam. Sounds too good to be true anyway if the phone can't run it, it can't run it. You can't magically change it to an extremely good phone.

Motorola DROID X Android Verizon Cell Phone Sim card?

Q. i just bought the Motorola DROID X Android Verizon Cell Phone off amazon in hopes i could put a simple mobile sim card in it can i or did i just waste money
so i did waste money

A. Unless it's a "Global" variant of Droid phones, Verizon phones (all Droids) do not use sim cards. There's a Droid 2 Global but I don't believe there's a Droid X Global.

What is the best phone Droid X, BlackBerry or iPhone 4?
Q. what is the BEST phone

A. Personally...

1. Droid X
2. Blackberry
3. iPhone 4

Personally, I would choose an Android phone any day because on the iPhone:

-cant take out the battery
-no removable memory
-only Apple-approved apps
-STILL no true multi-tasking like Android
-cant customize your phone AT ALL
-no Flash support
-cant install apps from your computer
-no widgets
-no free GPS navigation
-no free wireless music downloads
-no ringback tones
-all file syncing MUST be done through iTunes (pictures, etc.)
-Android phones have more memory storage
-most Android phones have better cameras
-no standard USB cable like all other phones
-the new iPhone has horrible antenna issues
-instant Android OTA software updates- dont have to wait a year like iPhone
-cant get service in an ATT store- have to find an Apple store
-works on ATTs horrible network
-no unlimited data
-tethering comes out of your data plan instead of being separate

Android is miles ahead of Apple- with the new 4.0 software, Apple is only now letting people do things that Android can, like add folders to their home screen, because God forbid that anyone should be able to do that on their cell phone!! And even in 4 years, they havent been able to give the iPhone true multi-tasking capabilities, like Android. It took them 4 years to put a flash on the camera for crying out loud!! By the time Apple puts out a new iPhone, theres a better Android phone out 4 months later. Bottom line: they will always be trailing Android.

Android is already selling more phones than Apple, and its been out half the time that the iPhone has. By fall, the Market will have over 100,000 apps, which is more than the Apple Store had at its 2-year mark. Androids open-source nature will always be more appealing to devs and phone manufacturers because they can market to every carrier, and dozens of phones, instead of 1 carrier and 1 phone. The possibilities are literally endless as far as Android is concerned, because ANYONE can make an app to do ANYTHING on the phone. With Apple, they have to approve every single app that goes into the Store. They even rejected an app because it said the word Android in it- how far do you really think theyre gonna go with that kind of closed-minded thinking?? I want to decide what goes on my phone, not the other way around..

Question about Android 3.0.0?

Q. Does anybody know if there is an available software update for 3.0.0 on my XPERIA X10i? i currently have 2.3.3 version. I know how to do it I just don't kinow if I can get it for my phone. Does anyone know when it might come out? Or mabey I could do some sort of hack :)) lol .. Any answers welcome :)

A. The Android 3.0.0 is designed for tablets. It is not designed for phones, and will not be available for your Xperia X10i. Just wait for the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update. It will be available to your phone soon.

Android 3.0?? Android Honeycomb?
Q. I was wondering about the strange way of counting by android, 2.3.3 and then updates to 4.0 ICS but then I found out there was also Android Honeycomb, what devices are based on honeycomb? Could my LG Optimus 2x Speed be updated to this? And where can I find official (!!) updates from LG on the rollout of ICS?

A. As the above said, honeycomb is a tablet (or Samsung galaxy note tablet phone) and ICS is for android devices.

Android started as 1.5, then updated to 1.6.

What's confusing, is that they missed out all the rest and made a leap to 2.1. Then to 2.2, then to 2.3. Since gingerbread was meant to be the final edition, they spent a while upgrading and revising the code, adding more features as newer devices came out.

When they learnt of the iPad 2 being released, they rushed together honeycomb, the 3rd generation of android, which, although poorly coded and app-deprived (had only 16 apps when released...) it was pretty nice.

ICS is meant to be googles way of saying, no more updates. HTC, LG, Samsung, ZTE, Sony and all the others are now using ICS for their devices, along with their skinning. Htc sense, Samsung Touchwiz, Xperia, LG etc.

So yeah, hope I cleared the numbering issues, v1.5 was the original, but 1.5.1 was a revised version, much like on iOS. (5.0, 5.0.1, 5.1) and all phone makers are using ICS.
I do believe only a select few phones will receive an ICS update, the htc sensation, galaxy, Xperia, zte, etc. check with your service provider.

A. There's no need to every song is mastered to suit the genre it's intended for the reason why people don't get the most of their music is because the earphones or headphones beat it speaks are of low quality meaning you won't notice the difference between a wav file and an mp3 .

What is second hand rate of nokia n95 8gb in mumbai?
Q.

A. Hi

You should get it around for Rs 7-8k

But i doubt if we still get n95, its such a old phone.

It is very old, doesn't have good O.S ( loaded with old version of Symbian ) + second hand than it should not cost more.

However i would suggest get some new phone like HTC Wildfire with Android.

why are all the android phones copies of the Iphone?

Android phone pros and cons?
Q. Don't know what to get iOS or android

A. Android phones are on many carriers which means your options of choices are higher. The iPhone is only on 3 of the 4 major carriers, and no regional, nor VMNOs. Android devices has more design choices which might be better for you. Also, unless your carrier locked the feature out, you can install apps from other stores, or even directly from the Internet (.apk files). This maybe a good or bad thing. Android devices can get a virus, but this is where a little common sense and wisdom comes to play. All smart phones are much like micro PCs.

iPhone is dead simple to use. It has already been shown that iOS (the OS for iPhone) can be used by a toddler. With the integration of iTunes, there is not many software/device combination that works quite as well. This makes life simpler for those that don't want the hassle. This comes at a price though. The device is restricted from doing many things that an Android phone can do. This may not matter to a particular user, but for others - this can be a deal breaker.

Any good android phones?

Q. Hi! I'm looking for an android phone and this going to be my first android phone. I'm looking for one that has good battery life, video calling, micro SD card slot,16GB or HIGHER, and good camera like 8MP.. When I say video calling I mean a thing Like FaceTime like apple has. My carrier is AT&T. It doesn't have to be 16GB or higher it would just be nice to have one.

A. The Samsung Galaxy 3 or HTC are good phones, but don't come close to a good Iphone 4S or 5.! (You can get upwards of 10-15 Mbps downloads on AT&T 4G LTE..depending on signal strength.) With a GSM carrier like AT&T, you can also talk and surf at the same time.....(Can't do that with Verizon or other CDMA carriers..!)

Iphone or Droid????????????

Q. I have a Droid X and its a piece of shit and I want to get a new phone. I don't know if I should go with the iPhone or another Droid. Someone help please :)

A. get a droid phones,(preferably the galaxy s2, the best android/iphone out right now), and with a app called "double twist" you can sync all your itunes music to your android

I prefer android over apple for the reason that its open-source, that means that the majority of the apps are free, and you get more revolutionary and cutting edge apps. And do things are even only barely available on a jail broken iphone
The android market already has 250000 apps- closing in on apple 500000; some say it will surpass it before the year is over. Also any popular iphone game or game adaptation can be found in the android market for free.
Another great thing about android as that if you dont like something (keyboard, homescreen, etc.) it can easily be swapped without jail-breaking, unlike the iphones one-size-fits-all approach.

Other features only on android
Turn-by-turn voice GPS
Better and larger screen
No need to connect to computer to sync
Here is a big one, add a sd card
Live wallpaper
Better calls
widgets
4g
More customizable
More powerful hardware
Flash support, watch ALL the online videos

Apple lovers that say that the iphone is made of better quality material? They dont realize that Samsung, an android phone maker, supplys the screen, processor and memory for apple devices, so android has the advantage here.
The iphone is pretty, but not durable, drop it once- it breaks, all that glass around it? That was honestly a mistake. Android manufactures clearly saw that, and decided to do with something a little more durable.

And the iphones retina display is a huge scam. By definition a retina display is one where the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels. But this is determined by several factors; most important being the distance between the screen and your eyes. The iphones retina distance is 12in, move any closer than that- say 7in and its no longer a retina screen because your eyes can now see the pixels, by that same token, if I move my android phone back, to say 16-17in, amazingly, it becomes a retina screen as well! (feel free to google this)

Also apple never invents anything, all they do is steal old technology, give it a fresh coat of paint and mass advertise it as magical and innovating, thus fooling the mass of the population into believing that apple offers cutting edge technology, that in fact has been around for quite a few years.
So instead of innovating, apple actually hinders technology- after 4 years they still have low-power single core phones, while android, an example of technology in overdrive, has rumored that, after their second year, the release of quad core phones that will surpass even some desktop computers in shear processing power.

Apple should now feel pretty worried; android has passed it in market share
http://www.businessinsider.com/android-iphone-market-share-2011-4

Then apple panics and sues
http://www.dailytech.com/Google+ExCEO+Apple+Doesnt+Innovate+They+Sue/article22190.htm
The funny thing is that apple cant sue for being the first touchscreen or tablet, because they werent,(Nokia fist touch screen, archos first tablet) so instead they sue for much more relevant things like, the rounded icon corners and having a flat screen or the square shape of the phone..

To top it all, if youve seen apples 2011 presentation, they blatantly copied over five "new" features that were previously on android.
http://androidandme.com/2011/06/news/five-features-in-ios-5-that-show-how-apple-is-now-playing-catch-up-to-google/

http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/06/apple-introduces-ios5-with-notifications-ota-updates-and-tabbed-browsing-android-users-giggle-at-their-late-arrival/
1. Notification bar
2. Twitter integration
3. No need to connect to PC to sync
4. Launch apps from lock screen
5. Tabbed browsing

And not only are they copies, but apple didnt even bother to improve, or change some of them in any way- some even have LESS features than their android counter parts, its basically a cheap imitation with the ever-popular iphone skin.
According to Steve jobs, these "revolutionary" new technologies that android users had since 2007 will be available on IOS5, and it would not surprise me to see some more android features from 2008 on IOS6.But the truly sad part is that due to apples marketing, in a few months, apple lovers will really think that apple invented those features and call android the copycatsyet again.

Though I suppose Google shouldve seen it coming.

Good artists copy great artist steal- Steve jobs (apple CEO)

how is the droid x phone?
Q. Ready and able to upgrade and was wondering what the droid x is like.

A. The Droid X is a very nice phone. I especially like the screen size. The Android market place is getting better and better and so the Droid X is definitely a great buy.

Which is better iPhone or Android ?
Q. Ok , so right now I have an At&t pantech crossover that's an android but it kind of sucks . It won't let me download certain games & its memory is garbage . I am getting an upgrade pretty soon & I was wondering if I should stay with android or get an iPhone 5 or whatever .. I really just want a better hardrive but I want to keep my slide up qwerty keyboard . I also want to be able to download temple run & games like that . So can someone tell me the pros & cons of both & which one I should get ... ?

A. well.. Ill be blunt and tell you this... dont blame android for Pantech's peice of %#!#$% phone... Pantech, SONY, and LG dont know how to make androids... A good android must be a Teir 3 smartphone or Teir 4 superphone (the ones you see on TV) and always made by HTC, Motorola and Samsung.

Next blunt statement... ALL slider phones, regardless of OS, are buggy, glitchy, and latent... so dont blame Android for, again, OEM issues...

Next blunt statement... the price.... cheap = cheap... you get what your pay for... remember that! Teir 1 budget class Androids are NOT nor will NEVER be like their big brothers... they are sold cheap because the OEM and carriers strip the hardware and software down to the bare minimum.... this is why your Pantech... welll... sucks.... I'll same the same for a Samsung Prevail and Motorola Triumph and HTC Wildfires.... cheap = cheap.... you want cheap? you get it!!! Again, dont blame Android. And if the Apple rumors are true, that a Iphone mini is to be released for people with "lack of money", the budget iphones will have the same issues... and people will have a bad reality check and a whole world of butt hurt if they think these "minis" will run and operate like their big brother.... lmao.....

So... if you want a great android phone... make sure its $199 with a 2 yr contract... or was a very popular phone from Spring 2012 to present.....

I your gonna get an Iphone, make sure its the Iphone 5... cause 4 is being phased out now... and 4s will be phased out when 6 debuts in September... and you'll have a bad reality check when you put IOS 6 on a 4, or IOS 7 on a 4s... CPU/RAM requirements increase and OS #s increase... so IOS 6 is SLOW on 4... and kinda slow on 4s, but normal on 5... and when ios7 comes out, it will be normal on iphone 6, but kind a slow on 5, and very slow on 4s and stoneage slow on 4...

Whether it is an Iphone or Android... you want power and performance and the coolest LATEST games and apps????? Make sure the CPU is a minimum of 1.5ghz DualCore... and the RAM is a minimum of 1GB...... everything else is not important in a cell phone purchase
