Should I return my iPhone 5 and get some type of Android phone?
Q. My first iPhone 5 arrived with a scratch, and the second had sim card issues (even with a replacement card) and Wi-Fi problems. I wanted this phone mostly so I could continue to use my apps and purchase upcoming games. Getting an Android phone is tempting since I'm getting tired of Apple's quality control but I will no longer be able to use my games. What do you recommend doing?

A. If you're open to trying and exploring another platform then sure go ahead and get an android phone. A lot of apps that are in the app store are also available at google play. It does take some time getting used to if you switch so keep that in mind. And also, there's no perfect phone so you're going to experience some type of problem along the line with every phone.

If you do decide to switch, you can get that famous Samsung Galaxy S3, Motorola Razr Maxx HD or HTC One X.

You can go to a store and play with one of them the you decide.

Can you still use a non activated smart phone?

Q. I am looking to replace my iPod touch, I was wondering if I could use a smart phone that is not activated to use apps from the android market and use the rest of the phones utilities except calling. The reason that I don't want to activate it, if you must know, is simple: I have a phone and I don't want to pay for smartphone Internet. Nor do I want a no contract phone.

Also what smart phone would you recommend? Preferably onewith an 8mp camera.

A. Yes, most phone do not need data plan to activate, most can activate through wifi. If they do, just do a little research to find a work around. I would recommend the new Droid 3 coming out in a few weeks.

Check out the guide below on how to do the work around: http://www.androidsim.net/2009/08/how-to-5-how-to-registeractivate-your.html

Should I get a Blackberry or an Android phone?
Q. I may get a new phone soon and I'm deciding between getting a Blackberry and an Android phone, I've had an android phone so far but I REALLY hate touchscreens!

And anything important I should know about Blackberry's that I probably don't know yet?

A. I will suggest an Android phone as you will get access to a huge variety of android apps on your phone. Since you hate touchscreen than i think you will not be using Android and you can get a good Blackberry phone.I will suggest a Blackberry Curve

Q. So im going to buy a new phone and i have about 300 - 320 euros to spend. I was thinking of getting the galaxy S. Even after 18 months that is out, i think it's pretty good for 300 euros. However, it probably won't get the new android ice cream sandwich update, right? Tell me more if you know.
Also, i'd like your experiences with the galaxy s. Is it good?

Should I get an iPhone 4 or Samsung Infuse 4G?

Q. I know lots of people with iPhones, plus I have an iPod Touch which is kind of like an iPhone so Im very familiar with them, but ive never used an Infuse 4G or any Android phone. Is it any better? Is it worth buying? What are the pros and cons of it compared to an iPhone?

A. get the samsung, and with a app called "double twist" you can sync all your itunes music to your android,

I prefer android over apple for the reason that its open-source, that means that the majority of the apps are free, and you get more revolutionary and cutting edge apps, and do things are even only barely available on a jail broken iphone
The android market already has 250000 apps- closing in on apple 500000; some say it will surpass it before the year is over. Also any popular iphone game or game adaptation can be found in the android market for free.
Another great thing about android as that if you dont like something (keyboard, homescreen, etc.) it can easily be swapped without jail-breaking, unlike the iphones one-size-fits-all approach.

Despite the false, desperate rumors, The iphone is also just as, if not more vulnerable to viruses as android

Apple lovers that say that the iphone is made of better quality material? They don’t realize that Samsung, an android phone maker, supply’s the screen, processor and memory for apple devices, so android has the advantage here.
The iphone is pretty, but not durable, drop it once- it breaks, all that glass around it? That was honestly a mistake. Android manufactures clearly saw that, and decided to do with something a little more durable.

And the iphones “retina display” is a huge scam. By definition a ‘retina display’ is one where the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels. But this is determined by several factors; most important being the distance between the screen and your eyes. The iphones retina distance is 12in, move any closer than that- say 7in and it’s no longer a “retina screen” because your eyes can now see the pixels, by that same token, if I move my android phone back, to say 16-17in, amazingly, it becomes a retina screen as well! (feel free to google this)

Also apple never invents anything, there never “the first”. All they do is steal old technology, give it a fresh coat of paint and mass advertise it as “magical” and “innovating”, thus fooling the mass of the population into believing that apple offers cutting edge technology, that in fact has been around for quite a few years.
So instead of innovating, apple actually hinders technology- after 4 years they still have low-power single core phones, while android, an example of technology in overdrive, has rumored that, after their second year, the release of quad core phones that will surpass even some desktop computers in shear processing power. (now any 2011 android is smoother and faster than the iphone)

Apple should now feel pretty worried; android has passed it in market share
http://www.businessinsider.com/android-iphone-market-share-2011-4

Then apple panics and sues
http://www.dailytech.com/Google+ExCEO+Apple+Doesnt+Innovate+They+Sue/article22190.htm
The funny thing is that apple can’t sue for being the first touchscreen or tablet, because they weren’t,(Nokia fist touch screen, “archos” first tablet) so instead they sue for much more relevant things like, “the rounded icon corners” and “having a flat screen” or “the square shape of the phone”……..

To top it all, if you’ve seen apples 2011 presentation, they blatantly copied over five "new" features that were previously on android.
http://androidandme.com/2011/06/news/five-features-in-ios-5-that-show-how-apple-is-now-playing-catch-up-to-google/
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/06/apple-introduces-ios5-with-notifications-ota-updates-and-tabbed-browsing-android-users-giggle-at-their-late-arrival/
1. Notification bar
2. Twitter integration
3. No need to connect to PC to sync
4. Launch apps from lock screen
5. Tabbed browsing

And not only are they copies, but apple didn’t even bother to improve, or change some of them in any way- some even have LESS features than their android counter parts, it’s basically a cheap imitation with the ever-popular iphone skin.
According to Steve jobs, these "revolutionary" new technologies that android users had since 2007 will be available on IOS5, and it would not surprise me to see some more android features from 2008 on IOS6.But the truly sad part is that due to apples marketing, in a few months, apple lovers will really think that apple invented those features and call android the copycats…yet again.

Though I suppose Google should’ve seen it coming….

I'm buying my first smartphone and I've narrowed down my choices to the iphone 4 or the Motorola Atrix?
Q. The decision I'm trying to make is between an Android phone versus an Apple phone. Can someone breakdown some of the major differences between them for me? Even searching the internet for comparisons came back uninformative and too biased.

How do I log out of Gmail app on android phone?

Q. The native gmail app on my android phone (HTC Incredible) doesn't allow you to log out of email and you can't set it up to require a password to access your Gmail account. Is there any way to make it require password or to log in and out at will?

A. No, because it is an Android phone, it requires you to be logged into GMail, and you can not log out or delete it. Sorry. Your best solution might be to switch it with a fake GMail account and always sign in via web to check mail or with another application that requires a password to protect your e mail from being accessed by other people using your phone.

A good nokia dual sim phone at rs 10000 to 15000 with flash camera.?

Q. It should be android or symbian, not java.

A. nokia dualsim smartphone lunched not yet. u can try Samsung Galaxy S Duos S7562

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_duos_s7562-4883.php

its dual sim, android, 5mp camera with flash.

best android phone for hd gaming at a price less than rs 15000?
Q. I want to play games like asphalt 7, gta 3. Also i dont want micromax or karbbon as they are not durable.

A. Have a look at Samsung galaxy S Advance and Galaxy S Duos. Both are good in your price range but they only have 8GB inbuilt storage out of which only 4GB is available for use. As you know GTA 3 itself is 2 GB game. And you install 2 games and you are out of storage.
My advice go for Spice Stellar Pinnacle MI530 or MI535. both have 16GB inbuilt storage and 1GB Ram.

Which phone is better the T-Mobile wing or the G1?

Q. im having trouble deciding in between these two phones can anyone help me plz

A. As per my opinion i would suggest u to go for T-Mobile G1 as its very demanding now a days in market than T-Mobile wing. I have T-Mobile G1and i didn't find any problem till as i have taken it before 4 months from UK.

T-Mobile G1 has good features as under

+ The T-Mobile G1 features a full QWERTY keyboard, 3G support, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. The Google Android operating system offers good integration with Google applications as well as access to the Amazon MP3 Store and YouTube.

+ Android looks to be the real deal, Almost everything is customizable, Keypad is one of the best out there, Large, responsive touchscreen, Open platform + Android Market = infinite possibilities, Device is large, but ergonomics are good, Great battery life

+ Solid "telephone" and interesting operating system.

+ Nice size screen, responsive touch control, good camera, feels good in your hands and the "chin" doesn't get in the way of speedy typing, overall easy to use and very customizable.

how are ext. numbers created for Numbers Such As business phones is it like a port . port fowarding are these.?
Q. extensions able to be created for a house phone just for giggles "for fun"!!?? what are the supplies i need to create such weird procedure? what are the steps to creating a ext number ..exp..4449
If this is in the wrong category can you tell me which one to put it in please

A. Extensions are typically in PBX systems, or IAX systems. In the case of the home, extension 100 may ring the garage, while 101 is for the kitchen, 102 is for the living room, and so on. This can be done relatively cheap (as compared to thousands per extension on old PBXes). However, this will involve some technical workings with a computer (preferably a dedicated computer).

You would want to install an IAX system (PBX in a Flash) comes to mind. This will be free, but will wipe a computer's hard drive, so you would want a dedicated PC for this. Once you done this, you would want to get a SIP service. Most SIP services will work, and you would want to make sure at least one supports

E911. Google Voice is also supported which will give you free calls in US/CA.

You would set up all SIP services you would be using. You would set up dialing rules (such as using one SIP carrier for UK calls). The phone numbers you would port should port to one of your SIP providers. The calls will go to the IAX server. You would set up a Ring Group so that any calls to that SIP service will ring all of the appropriate phones.

In example, if you went to Broadvoice and ported your phone number to them from you telephone company, you would then set up the credentials that Broadvoice gives you into the IAX system. You may then set it up to ring Group 1 which will ring all of the phones on the first floor. You could also set it up to ring a particular extension.

You would also need SIP phones, or ATAs. Android, and iOS has SIP clients that you could use to make calls with the IAX. Each SIP client should have its own extension. For some phones like the Siemens Gigaset, there is an RJ45 connection at the access point, and can support multiple SIP accounts, therefore you can set up multiple phones to talk to the same access point. An ATA is an analog telephone adapter which has a RJ11 (phone jack) and will connect to the home network.

For the old fashion POTS or if you have a proprietary VOIP (like Vonage), you would need to install an FXO/FXS card in the PC.The FXS will connect with the carrier, while the FXO connects to the home phones. If you go all SIP/ATA option, you would not need an FXO.

If you want to greet your callers with the option to press 1 for this person, or 2 for that person, then you would need to have the IAX server to use an IVR (Interactive Voice Reception) which some SIP services may have a hard time dealing with.

Now, if you are scared of doing all of this, but want to take the services in, you could use a hosted services such as PBXes.org, or Toktumi. PBXes is more technical, and less features than a full fledge IAX, but you would get basic extension support, and SIP control. Toktumi supports IVR, but will forward callers to either voice mail, or a phone number.

Does anyone have some advice about koodo mobile?
Q. I am trying to find a good service provider for a phone and so far I want to get koodo. The whole tab thing is great and there are some good phones. So I was wondering does anyone have some good advice about koodo?

A. I am not sure if you are going to find anything better. They have been picked as the best service provider in the January edition of Consumer Report http://i42.tinypic.com/rvlglz.jpg Now that they have the iPhone 4S and the Blackberry Bold along with some very decent Android phones the line up is also much better. They also eliminated long distance from their plans so that gives you even more value.

Should i Wait for iphone to come to verizon?
Q. apparantly apple ordered chips that only verizon uses so its leading to verizon getting the iphone. or i could get the Droid X. im hesitant about getting the droid x though because every time i get a new phone, a better one comes out the next month. do u think a new droid will come out soon?

A. Um no. They didn't order chips that ONLY Verizon uses- they SUPPOSEDLY ordered the type of chips that Verizon, and lots of other networks around the world, use. India uses the same type of network that Verizon does- thats a billion people- maybe they're releasing one for India- everyone just automatically assumes that its for Verizon, and every year, it's not. These rumors come around every year, and every year, no Verizon iPhone. They didnt want it when Apple came to them first back in 2006 and they dont want it now. Why would they, when any Android phone crushes the iDont any day of the week, and Android is already selling more phones than Apple anyways?? Plus, ATT knows that without the iPhone, they have nothing, so they will pay Apple as much as they want in order to keep it. Why would you ever want such a horrible phone?

Personally, I would choose an Android phone any day because on the iPhone:

-cant take out the battery
-no removable memory
-only Apple-approved apps
-STILL no true multi-tasking like Android
-cant customize your phone AT ALL
-no Flash support
-cant install apps from your computer
-no widgets
-no free GPS navigation
-no mobile hotspot
-no free wireless music downloads
-no ringback tones
-no refunds for paid apps
-all file syncing MUST be done through iTunes (pictures, etc.)
-Android phones have more memory storage
-most Android phones have better cameras
-no standard USB cable like all other phones
-the new iPhone has horrible antenna issues
-instant Android OTA software updates- don’t have to wait a year like iPhone
-can’t get service in an ATT store- have to find an Apple store
-works on ATTs horrible network
-no unlimited data
-tethering comes out of your data plan instead of being separate

Android is miles ahead of Apple- with the new 4.0 software, Apple is only now letting people do things that Android can, like add folders to their home screen, because God forbid that anyone should be able to do that on their cell phone!! And even in 4 years, they haven’t been able to give the iPhone true multi-tasking capabilities, like Android. It took them 4 years to put a flash on the camera for crying out loud!! By the time Apple puts out a new iPhone, there’s a better Android phone out 4 months later. Bottom line: they will always be trailing Android.

Android is already selling more phones than Apple, and it’s been out half the time that the iPhone has. By fall, the Market will have over 100,000 apps, which is more than the Apple Store had at its 2-year mark. Android’s open-source nature will always be more appealing to devs and phone manufacturers because they can market to every carrier, and dozens of phones, instead of 1 carrier and 1 phone. The possibilities are literally endless as far as Android is concerned, because ANYONE can make an app to do ANYTHING on the phone. With Apple, they have to approve every single app that goes into the Store. They even rejected an app because it said the word Android in it- how far do you really think they’re gonna go with that kind of closed-minded thinking?? I want to decide what goes on my phone, not the other way around..

Yes a better Android phone comes around every 4-6 months, but the X would be a worthwhile phone to get, unless you want to wait for a 4G phone next year. You could also only do a 1 year contract instead of a 2 year, and then you'd be eligible to upgrade next June again

How long to charge an HTC EVO phone battery?

Q. Two years ago, I purchased a Sprint HTC Evo android phone with a regular battery. Recently I bought an extended battery after becoming fed up with constant charging of the regular battery, who's life lasted about 4 hours.

I want to know, how long must I charge the extended battery before it is completely full?

A. When the battery is new it is important to charge it for 8-12 hours for the first 3-5 cycles regardless if the phone says it is fully charged. This process helps condition your battery and will help extend the overall lie as well as the amount of time you will get to use your phone between charges. Between charges let the battery run down to 25-30% capacity. After the first 3-5 charges you can start just charging it as long as it takes to fully charge..maybe an hours or so.

Good luck!

Should I get an iPhone or a MyTouch?

Q. Which one is better in the form of apps and just plain niceness?

I currently have an expiring T-Mobile plan and is thinking of switching to AT&T. Switching would mean about +$30 a month in the plan but would it be worth the money if I got the iPhone in return? Or should I just stay with T-Mobile and wait for the MyTouch in early August?

A. As much as there is a lot of "support" from apple the my touch comes with a 1 year manufactures warranty plus you can purchase a 2 year warranty for only 39.99. Also, the mytouch has the android network for apps. There are currently 5000 apps available and 10000 developers working on new apps. They don't have to be approved by apple. Also, the phone allows you to have a live web feed as a wallpaper (ie you can have a live camera of the eiffel tower as you wallpaper) it has sherpa which is an app that will over time recognize your habits and personalize the phone to you. Also, the mytouch is less expensive.

A good android phone range 10000 - 11000 rupees?
Q. A good android phone (latest OS) , good back and front camera , expandable memory that means card slot , should respond to touch and not hang up ! and a good voice recorder is required ! Please help !
4.0 or 4.1 android would do but if it is the latest the better

A. i'd say go with lenovo p770. u may not have heard of this phone but this is a great phone to have and truly value for money.. check the specs and see the reviews.
otherwise you always have options in samsung and htc..
but better go with the lenovo one..
in samsung you have samsung galaxy s duos.
htc is not known for being value for money.

How do i connect my android phone to a 2011 nissan sentra to player music from my phone?
Q. I have an lg optimus l9 p769 phone and i want to know how to play the music from my phone into my radio

A. One of four ways depending on what features your stereo has.

1. AUX input. Simple, easy, analog audio. It looks like a headphone jack on your stereo. Get an AUX cable (headphone jack on bot sides) and connect it between your phone and car. You change songs directly from the phone.

2. USB input. Plug the phone in with your USB charge/transfer cable that you normally use on the computer. Often the stereo will read the song and artist names and you can navigate them like folders directly off of the stereo. You may have to change a setting on your phone to make it work. This will also charge the phone when it's plugged in.

3. Bluetooth. Look for the bluetooth symbol on the stereo. Pair up the device wireless with the car stereo. It's easy, but it hurts your battery and the audio quality isn't quite as good as the other two options.

4. If you don't have any of those features you have to use an FM transmitter. Sadly they suck. They plug into the phone and tune into an empty radio station. They have lots of interference and sound kinda fuzzy all the time. Additionally they cut out a lot and you always have to re-tune them if you're driving long distances.

Are there any forthcoming Android or Windows phones with Xenon camera flash?

Q. The contract on my Nokia N8 finishes soon and I want to get rid of it. Terrible, poorly supported OS.

However the one thing I have got used to and can't give up is having a xenon flash - my last three phones (SE K800i, Nokia N82 and now N8) have all had Xenon flash and no matter how good phone manufacturers say their camera sensors are, nothing matches a proper xenon flash - I have seen iPhone 4S photos taken in low light and they look DREADFUL.

But it appears there aren't any decent options as a replacement.
- Only thing on Android is the Motorola XT720 - apparently an awful phone with a lousy camera. And no networks in the UK sell it.
- Only think on Windows is the HTC Mozart, and according to reviews the camera is crap.

And that's it.

Is there anything rumoured to be coming out in the future?
Or do Xenon flashes make phones too thick, and manufacturers think we all want skinny phones?

A. n8 sucessor is rumored to be launched this february at mobile world congress.better wait for it.by the way update n8 to belle os.its great.

Should I buy an android phone now or wait for a new release?

Q. I am seeking an android phone for verizon, but am aware that new software will be coming out soon which may require new hardware... Is it worth waiting a few months for new models to come out or are there any models worth buying right now?

A. Personally, I'd wait. The new software you are referring to is Android 2.3, codenamed Gingerbread. It is going to be geared towards the top-of-the-line smart phones and tablets.
The minimum hardware requirements for 2.3 devices will be a 1GHZ CPU, 512MB of RAM, and a 3.5” or higher display. Motorola announced back in July that they were going to be releasing a powerful 2GHZ smart phone late in 2010 (still nothing yet, and no carrier specified, although Verizon is a fair bet). I'm personally excited to see what other manufacturers like Samsung will have to show in 2011.
Another big reason to wait is because of the launch of Verizon's LTE ('4G') network, a supposed 10x speed increase over the current 3G. Currently, there are no LTE-capable phones. Anything you get now will lock you into 3G.

Should i get the new Samsung or HTC phone for verizon in 2011?
Q. My verizon contract is expiring soon and i want to get an android phone to replace my orignal Droid. Samsung and htc are both releasing phones in 2011. Do i get the new samsung phone or the HTC one. If you have any detail about either of the upcoming phone please let me KNOW!!!!!! I really need some help here.

A. Hi.I have an HTC android phone now and love it. HTC makes pretty good phones in my view.I suggest sticking to HTC instead.

Is wifi free from home on android phone?

Q. Hi, my phone bill has been really high for the past couple months due to me not knowing my data plan, but now I know it. The employee on the phone my mom talked to said for me to use wifi instead of data. If I am connected to my home wifi network (I have a password for it) will it charge? Will it charge my phone bill or computer bill? I've been using wifi a lot lately. I'm not sure what my phone plan is but I have a Samsung galaxy 551. (old phone, I've had it since July 2012) I only use facebook, google, and the youtube app. I don't download anything.

I'm hoping it's free!! Thank you. :)

A. It's "free" in the sense that data usage over wifi will not come off your phone bill. However, the data used will be debited from the data allowance given by your internet provider. I would advise you to contact your network provider just to establish your monthly data allowance.

Q. What are the complete advantages and features of android os behind symbian os?? Please answer me because i am planning to buy an android mobile ranging 7 to 10k Indian rupees.THANK YOU

A. for budget of 7k-10k android doesnt offer much, maybe some basic apps, you need to buy atleast in range of 17k to get full potential of os,like flash support on browser, future update like ics,hd gaming 800*480 resolution,hd recording etc.for 7-10k symbian is safe bet coz most android phone at the price have terrible battery backup, call and signal quality issues, stability issues etc.

Which android mobile should I go for 6k-7k range?

Should I get a new verizon android phone now or wait?
Q. I'm already due for my upgrade and I currently have an lg dare. I will stay with Verizon. Currently the top android phones in verizon lineup are Motorola Droid 2 and X, htc droid incredible, Samsung Fascinate. Should I wait or get one of these now? Heard there is an amazing htc phone called htc merge with 10 megapixel camera and a droid pro.

A. Verizon is getting Iphone in january BUT compared to an android phone is suck.

The only thing you'll be getting with an Iphone is the novelty to say... "I HAVE AN IPHONE!!"

My android can give my laptop internet access anywhere.

Plus apple is expanding because their sales are expected to drop because of Android being such a strong competitor.

Android is an affordable smart phone that almost every carrier offers therefore you'll have more connectivity with people. You can also pick up an android phone with not only touch screen but a slide out keyboard making it easier to text in class, or while driving (not that I condone it.)

Plus if something happens to it you aren't doomed to make an appointment with specialist only for them to tell you that you have to buy a new iphone.

Do they make a cross stitch silicone case for Android phones?

Q. I found the most awesome silicone casing for the iPhone4 that you can cross stitch on. I have an Android phone, and I doubt they make them yet, but has anyone seen one for an HTC or anything other than iPhones?

A. You can get them for the very high end android phones like htc wildfire and desire but they are rare and mid and low end android phones don't have them because the manufacture don't invest in accessories for low sellers

What do you think about a 3D iphone like the sprint 3D one?

Q. Do you think apple is copying android? Would the iphone still be better? Or do you like android better?

A. the 3d phones have very nice screens, and super AMOLED screens are superior to that of the iphone with truer colors. keep in mind though the 3d goes INTO the screen it doesn't pop out. its supposed to reduce eye strain.

Despite the false rumors, The iphone is also just as, if not more vulnerable to viruses as android
http://www.pcworld.com/article/183763/experts_not_surprised_by_iphone_malicious_app_report.html

Other features only on android
Turn-by-turn voice GPS
Better and larger screen
No need to connect to computer to sync
Here is a big one, add a sd card
Live wallpaper
widgets
4g
More customizable
More powerful hardware
Flash support, watch ALL the online videos

(now any 2011 android is smoother and faster than the iphone)

speaking of people needing to open there eyes.....android was purchased by google in 2005, two years BEFORE the iphone...

Apple should now feel pretty worried; android has passed it in market share
http://www.businessinsider.com/android-iphone-market-share-2011-4

Then apple panics and sues
http://www.dailytech.com/Google+ExCEO+Apple+Doesnt+Innovate+They+Sue/article22190.htm
The funny thing is that apple can’t sue for being the first touchscreen or tablet, because they weren’t,(Nokia fist touch screen, “archos” first tablet) so instead they sue for much more relevant things like, “the rounded icon corners” and “having a flat screen” or “the square shape of the phone”……..

To top it all, if you’ve seen apples 2011 presentation, they blatantly copied over five "new" features that were previously on android.
http://androidandme.com/2011/06/news/five-features-in-ios-5-that-show-how-apple-is-now-playing-catch-up-to-google/
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/06/apple-introduces-ios5-with-notifications-ota-updates-and-tabbed-browsing-android-users-giggle-at-their-late-arrival/
1. Notification bar
2. Twitter integration
3. No need to connect to PC to sync
4. Launch apps from lock screen
5. Tabbed browsing

And not only are they copies, but apple didn’t even bother to improve, or change some of them in any way- some even have LESS features than their android counter parts, it’s basically a cheap imitation with the ever-popular iphone skin.
According to Steve jobs, these "revolutionary" new technologies that android users had since 2007 will be available on IOS5, and it would not surprise me to see some more android features from 2008 on IOS6.But the truly sad part is that due to apples marketing, in a few months, apple lovers will really think that apple invented those features and call android the copycats…yet again.

When you have a At&T android phone dose it cost extra to download the apps from android market and use them?
Q. When i say download apps i mean free apps, like dose at&t charge extra for the download and use of them? What about blackberry? And Iphone? Do they charge extra too? Which one is better, Android, blackberry, or iphone?

A. it depends, some apps you have to pay for, but you dont have to pay to download them- they only use data from your data plan which you pay for. (but you can use wifi instead).
and no you don't have to pay to use them, that is unless their online/multiplayer games, but the again you can just use wifi

I prefer android over apple for the reason that its open-source, that means that the majority of the apps are free, and you get more revolutionary and cutting edge apps. And do things are even only barely available on a jail broken iphone

Security
Both Iphone and android offer equal security, though they have different means of doing it.
iphone, verifies all the apps so you can’t get a virus through an app, but the rest of the phone is semi-vulnerable.
Android does not check the apps, but the apps are run in an isolated way, as to not affect the system in event of a virus.
So both phones are equally prone to viruses (and if this a big deal for you, android has a antivirus app, which iphone does not)

Other features only on android
Turn-by-turn GPS
Better and larger screen
No need to connect to computer to sync
Here is a big one, add a sd card
Better calls
More customizable
More powerful hardware
Flash support, watch ALL the online videos

Apple lovers that say that the iphone is made of better quality material? They don’t realize that Samsung, an android phone maker, supply’s the screen, processor and memory for apple devices, so android has the advantage here.

The iphone is pretty, but not durable, drop it once- it breaks, all that glass around it? That was honestly a mistake. Android manufactures clearly saw that, and decided to do with something a little more durable.

Also apple never invents anything, all they do is steal old technology, give it a fresh coat of paint and mass advertise it as “magical” and “innovating”, thus fooling the mass of the population into believing that apple offers cutting edge technology, that in fact has been around for quite a few years. So instead of innovating, apple actually hinders technology- after 4 years they still have low-power single core phones, while android, an example of technology in overdrive, has rumored that, after their second year, the release of quad core phones that will surpass even some desktop computers in shear processing power.

Also if you’ve seen apples 2011 presentation, they blatantly copied over five "new" features that were previously on android.

What mp4 converter do you recommend to transfer DVD to Android phone?

Q. I have a DVD disc for my business that I would like to burn to my Android phone so I can show clients. I believe on Android devices I have to convert the video to an mp4 (not totally sure). I used VLP player to burn the DVD to my documents and now want to convert and transfer to my phone. Thanks for your help!

A. Aunsoft iMedia Converter for Mac is a perfect combination of a Mac Blu-ray Ripper and a Mac Video Converter, which can let you easily crack complicated Blu-ray/DVD encryption, backup or rip the full Blu-Ray/DVD to hard drive with original quality and enjoy on a non HDCP monitor or TV set. Do Android based phones have good sound quality and which phones if any are the best in this matter?
Q. I love my music and have a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic right now. I'm thinking of moving from Symbian to the Android platform. What phones have good sound quality both in headphones and speakers?
The more choices the better.
And I would rather not get a LG.

A. i would say the htc evo.
mainly because it has a powerful chipset, great speakers, and a standard headphone jack.
as far as interface, most android phones have the same layout.

if you don't want the evo than make sure you get a android phone built by HTC which thier UI is hands down better speeds than motorola (droid phones , verizon)

but all android phones have multiple choices of players for music. if you "root" the phone there are ways to connect to itunes for music. also load directly on your sd card.

me personally I use sirius radio on my android since im more talk shows than music and i have it connected to me car or headphones while i'm walking and I have no issues with quality.

in short pick a android phone with good chipset
heres my list from best choice down
1 htc evo
2droid x
3driod incedible
4 htc HD2
5htc hero

Is there a good keyboard app for androids phones?

Q. I have a droid 2 and I was wondering if there was any good FREE keyboard apps.

A. I tried them all and so far Slider keyboard is my fave

Can you recommend an Android phone with a keyboard?
Q. I currently have a Motorola Dext (EU version of Motorola Cliq) which I dearly love. But it is starting to show it's age & Motorola refuse to upgrade these past Android 1.5. I know these can be cracked & updated but I couldn't make it work & it's really not worth paying someone to crack such an old phone.

What I Love: Android, large screen, slide out keyboard.
What I hate: Crap battery life, No updates & therefore poor app compatibility

What I would really like to replace it with is more up to date version of the same thing, i.e. another slide out keyboard design, but there are so few on the market. Can people recommend some phones for me to look at.

A. The Samsung Galaxy Smart has a slideout qwerty, as does the HTC Shift something or other... these are both really reliable and advanced smartphones.
The thing with updates is that no phone is going to CONTINUE getting updates, because at some point any phone will be outdated. For example, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is IT right now, so of course it's getting updates... but in a year, that phone will be really old, and might not be getting new Android updates anymore. So just choose a phone you're happy with, and don't worry too much about the updating feature.
One thing, though... I understand why a lot of people want physical qwerty keyboards, but I'd have to say I've converted from that, thanks to the text input method called Swype. Read about it here: http://howdoyouandroid.com/2012/11/how-do-you-use-swype-keyboard.html It's SO much easier than any of those lame virtual keyboards, and actually is pretty close to as fast as typing on a computer keyboard, even if you're up there around 120 wpm.
Last point, about batteries... tbh, smartphones have pretty lame battery life right now. But I've totally overcome that problem, by following this method: http://howdoyouandroid.com/2012/11/how-do-you-deal-with-battery-that.html
Feel free to comment there, if you have any more Android questions!

Update for Galaxy Note?

Q. Hi People, I posted this yesterday and everyone seems clueless about it.

Does anybody know when there will finally be ICE CREAM SANDWICH for galaxy note?

I can't stand Gingerbread...the most simple of actions either make the phone lag/ crash and the UI is even worse! It was meant to be a so CALLED "Upgrade" from the S2 which has ICE CREAM SANDWICH and runs games/ apps flawlessly with no lag and can easily manage apps, doesn't get hot ect, ect.

Websites keeps saying it will be release Q2 2012? what the hell does that even mean, even google can't define it? I love samsung phones but they are just terrible at promising updates then stalling behind.

Regards

Shane.
Android phones do update like IO phones (apple)

I recently upgraded my Galaxy S2 from 2.3.4 to android 4.0.3 (ice cream sandwich) mid april - If you want to be helpful atleast get your facts right before making blunt answers

A. Android smartphones won't update like iOS.
You're stuck with what you have.

Do i have galaxy nexus or nexus 2?
Q. How do i know if i have galaxy nexus or nexus 2?..if i type nexus 2 in google its the same

A. There never was a "Nexus 2". All of Google's Nexus devices have been named differently. Here are the names of each device.

Google Nexus One - Made by HTC and released around Q1 2010 - Q2 2010 (3 year old phone now). First of the Nexus phones and had extremely high end specs during its release. All aluminum design, 3.7" AMOLED display (or SLCD display depending on the model). Has a circular trackpad that glows when a notification is received.

Google Nexus S - Made by Samsung and released around Q4 2010 - Q1 2011. Introduced the Android 2.3.x Gingerbread OS. Has capacitive buttons and removes trackpad that Nexus One has. 4" SUPER AMOLED display and a plastic design.

Google Galaxy Nexus - Made by Samsung and released around November 2011. Introduced the revamped Android 4.0.x Ice Cream Sandwich OS. First Nexus device to have a dual core processor, 720P HD display and 1GB of RAM. 4.65" SUPER AMOLED HD display and has a removable back similar to the Galaxy S II.

Google Nexus 7 - Made by ASUS and released around Q2 2012 - Q3 2012 (India got it around Q1 2013). First Nexus tablet ever introduced with the Android 4.1.x Jelly Bean OS. Also first Nexus device to have a quad core processor (nVidia Tegra 3).

Google Nexus Q - Made straight from Google's headquarters and originally released around June 2012. First device to be integrated straight with the Google Play Store. First Nexus device to be a total flop (according to CNN.com). First device to be discontinued so early after launch (discontinued around October 2012 with the announcement of the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10).

Google Nexus 4 - Made by LG and released around November 2012. First Nexus phone to have an all glass design and the first phone to be released with the Android 4.2.x Jelly Bean OS. One of the first Nexus devices to have 2GB of RAM.

Google Nexus 10 - Made by Samsung and released around November 2012 (February 2013 for Japan). First Nexus device to have such a powerful display (2500x1600 HD display) and the first device to have an A15 based processor. First tablet to have the Android 4.2.x Jelly Bean OS and 2GB of RAM.

These are all the names of the Nexus devices. Hopefully you can find out which device you have from there.
