A. http://www.google.ca/nexus/

The samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have the older Samsung Nexus S running 4.04 Android and it's great too.

I'd say if your not crazy about specs and aren't going to be using it for heavy duty stuff, get the Nexus S, otherwise get the Galaxy Nexus.

The specs on the galaxy Nexus are better and it looks cooler.

What are the pros and cons of Samsung Galaxy y?

Q.

A. Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 is an Android Gingerbread phone with 3" capacitive touchscreen display. The phone offers Bluetooth, 3G, and Wi-Fi connectivity. It has 2MP camera with video recording feature. The phone has social networking app and IM to let users stay in touch. Other features include A-GPS, push email, 832MHz processor, and 32GB expandable memory. In this article lets see some of the good and the disadvantages of Samsung Galaxy Y S5360. And to start with, here are some of the Good features of Samsung Galaxy Y S5360:Very responsive touch screen and also excellent Battery Life, I've downloaded angry birds and other games and it worked well, no lags whatsoever. YouTube videos in HD showed very good on the dolphin HD browser.Battery life is up to 3 days on standby, but I tried using it often for today to drain the battery and it lasted around more than 10 hours, with me playing games and using Wi-Fi.

Disadvantages are here:It only has android 2.3, and most mobile running froyo can be upgraded to 2.3.Its screen is too small & resolution of the screen is pathetic, typing SMS will be much tougher. Also, many android apps will not run in this resolution.Another thing the inbuilt browser doesn't support embedded flash video, but with dolphin HD browser you can see any video. The browser is really smooth and no lag.In any Android phone from Samsung can use the Dolphin Browser to support flash. You can download Dolphin HD browser from Android Market. If you face problem with Bluetooth connectivity, and if you are not able to connect Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 with your laptop as a modem through Bluetooth, and if you feel that there is some problem in Bluetooth, make a note that, Android Bluetooth devices are not discoverable by default. so maybe you need to turn on Bluetooth visibility which turns visibility on for 2 minutes only. menu-->wireless and network --> Bluetooth settings --> visible (tick)If you still not happy with your mobile, Don't do anything just go to your seller and tell him to replace it with a new phone. Don't go 2 service centre. There is a 7day replacement guarantee. Just force your seller to replace it with a new phone.Samsung Galaxy Y S5360 at this price range of Rs.7000 is good. Excellent buy, you won't regret it for all the features of this phone. Very efficient and affordable. Go for this phone if u have low budget.

Android or Blackberry?

Q. My birthday is coming up and I can get a phone within a price guideline. My friends all bbm people on their blackberry's and are very socialble but othere's say it breaks easily. Which one should I get?

A. There is no doubt that android phones are better than blackberry phones, but if all of your friends havce BBs, then the choice gets hard.

The advantage of having a Blackberry is that you will be able to BBM with all your friends, and not get left out. Most of my friends had BBs, and I got an android (this was a year ago). I felt left out until their contracts ran out and all bought new androids. If your friends are for sure sticking with Blackberries, and you wouldn't mind them way to much, go for the BB.

On an android phone there are hundreds of social apps, but I haven't found one that is BBM compatible. What you do get though, is the Google Play Store. It has over 400,000 apps, and 70% of them are free. You get to be part of the future of smartphones. You get the option of choice: both when you choose what phone to buy, and the software on it. You can install a new keyboard, theme, live wallpaper, lockscreen etc very easily.

The best android phone on a budget is the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus. The HTC One V is better, but not released yet. If you wouldn't mind waiting (and it's on your carrier) and want an android, the One V is the way to go. The Blackberry Bold is the best Blackberry Phone out right now (there's another batch coming fall 2012 apparently), and should still be dirt cheap.

What is the best type/touch-and-type phone in the market as of Dec 2012?
Q. It's Christmas time and my father and I decided to gift my mother a beautiful new smartphone. Since my mother basically uses her phone for calling, messaging and music (a lot of music)...and maybe even a little bit of photography (though not a lot), we were looking for a mobile phone that excels in these areas. Another very important requirement is that the phone must have a QWERTY keypad - for my mother does not like touch phones. However, a touch AND type phone is acceptable.

Our current contestants include BlackBerry, Samsung, Nokia and HTC. However, my father has an HTC phone that discharges in a matter of two days. So, we were a little unsure about it. iPhone is out of the contest because it doesn't produce phones with keyboards - to my knowledge.

As for costs, I don't really have a specific range. But it better be below the cost of an iPhone (which is about a 1000 USD here in the Philippines). I would say between USD 240 to 600. But it's not set in stone - the quality and the features of the phone are more important and the range can be extended if necessary.

A. The best: Samsung Captivate Glide It's a lot like the popular Samsung Galaxy S II (4.5 stars, $199.99), with the addition of a full, slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a slight bump down in specs. It's our Editors' Choice for keyboarded smartphones on AT&T.

Physical Features, Phone Calls, and Internet
The Captivate Glide measures 4.9 by 2.5 by 0.5 inches (HWD) and weighs 5.2 ounces. Made out of lightly textured black plastic, the Glide looks unassuming, but feels well built and comfortable in your hand.

View all 6 photos in gallery

The 4-inch, 800-by-480-pixel Super AMOLED display is gorgeous. It has fewer subpixels than the Super AMOLED Plus display on the Galaxy S II, but it still looks excellent. The screen can get very bright, but darker colors maintain a luxurious depth and richness. Four haptic feedback-enabled functions keys sit beneath the display, which are suitably responsive. Typing on the on-screen QWERTY was fine, but I suspect most people are looking to the Glide for the real thing. The phone slides open to reveal a large, four-row physical keyboard. The keys are large and backlit, with comfortable, even spacing. They're a bit flat, but it shouldn't take long to adjust to typing on them.

The Glide is a good voice phone. Reception is average, and calls sound rich, clear, and natural in the phone's earpiece. The speakerphone also sounds good but volume doesn't go loud enough to use outdoors. Calls made with the phone are clear, though voices can sound thin and background noise cancellation is just average. I had no trouble connecting to a Jawbone Era Bluetooth headset ($129.99, 4.5 stars) and calls sounded great. Thankfully, voice dialing works better here, using Android's native voice-dialing app, than it does on the Galaxy S II, which uses a version of Vlingo that had difficulty recognizing names.

The Glide is a world phone that uses AT&T's HSPA+ 21 network and 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi. It also works as a Wi-Fi hotspot with the right service plan. Download speeds averaged 4Mbps down, with peak speeds of 8Mbps, while uploads were around 1Mbps up. Those numbers are good, but they're no match for AT&T's blazing 4G LTE speeds on devices like the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket ($249.99, 4.5 stars). This isn't too big a deal, though, because AT&T only has LTE in 14 cities right now. Battery life was excellent, at 10 hours 3 minutes of continuous talk time.

Processor and Apps
The Captivate Glide is powered by Nvidia's 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor. It scored well in our benchmark tests, easily overpowering single-core devices, though not quite at the top of the dual-core heap.

The phone runs Android 2.3.5 "Gingerbread" with Samsung's TouchWiz extensions. There are some useful add-on apps, including Media Hub, a downloadable music and video store with reasonable prices, and Social Hub, a combination Facebook/Twitter client. There's also some bloatware from AT&T, including FamilyMap and the U-Verse Live TV app, which are both deletable. Other apps, like AT&T Navigator and an AT&T 'Featured Apps' store, are not. The Glide should be compatible with most everything in the Android Market, which currently has over 1250,000 apps.

unlocking android phone?

Q. My friend has an Android phone. She got for Easter. It has been used before, but didn't have an email set up with it. And she made the lock pattern when she was half asleep, doesn't remember it at all. She can;t log into any Google account to unlock it though. What does she do
? and no, the phone doesn't currently have service, if that would have anything to do with unlocking it.
"x" button? D:
Where is that at?
I have no idea what i am doing wrong, but I cant find any instructions that work. it's a US Cellular LG Android. that is all i know. And when i search that it doesn't work.

A. if you cant figure out the password, there is a way to preform a factory reset, if necessary. I had an Android before and it was done by holding the "x" button while starting up. This is very drastic and only should be done if no other solution is available.

How to track my android phone?
Q. I lost my phone on the bus the other day and I checked the lost and found but its gone. Its has alot of important things on it. its virgin mobile and its a samsung intercept. Its an android. Is there any way to track it down and get back my phone.
I called virgin mobile and they said they arent in the position to do that

A. Your phone, Samsung Intercept M910, has in-built GPS. Since it's an Android phone, I imagine there would be some android-based GPS tracking apps installed in it. When I got my own Droid X Android phone, it had an anti-theft security app installed in it.

If you have similar tracking apps installed in your samsung intercept phone, then you may be able to track your phone's location online.

If not, then only your operator can track it using the hardware serial number (the 15 digit IMEI number or ESN number of your phone).

Is there an Android phone with a hardware keyboard?

Q. I'm getting continually more frustrated with my Blackberry Curve. It works fine, for the most part, but I'm realizing how truly far behind Blackberry is. Then I was on the receiving end of the recent outage and I think that's the final straw for me. I've stubbornly resisted any touch screen, mainly because I don't want to give up a hardware keyboard. Its really important to me. Are there any Android phones that are old-school enough to still have one?
I should also mention I'm on Verizon.

A. Yeah the Motorola Droid 1,2 and 3 have a slide out keyboard and a touchscreen (hardware keyboards are so much nicer than touchscreen keyboards, however the touchscreen is always nice). These phone are on the Verizon network which is an awesome provider

Buying an Android phone right now worth it?
Q. Is it worth buying an Android phone right now such as the Motorola Cliq? I heard from some people that Android phones with more powerful processors and upgraded system is coming in the future. Is it worth investing in the Android phones coming out right now, or is it smart to wait for the "next-generation" Android phones. My plan expires in less than a month so I have to make my decision cleverly.

A. Android was built from the ground-up to enable developers to create compelling mobile applications that take full advantage of all a handset has to offer. It was built to be truly open. For example, an application can call upon any of the phone's core functionality such as making calls, sending text messages, or using the camera, allowing developers to create richer and more cohesive experiences for users. Android is built on the open Linux Kernel. Furthermore, it utilizes a custom virtual machine that was designed to optimize memory and hardware resources in a mobile environment. Android is open source; it can be liberally extended to incorporate new cutting edge technologies as they emerge. The platform will continue to evolve as the developer community works together to build innovative mobile applications.

All applications are created equal
Android does not differentiate between the phone's core applications and third-party applications. They can all be built to have equal access to a phone's capabilities providing users with a broad spectrum of applications and services. With devices built on the Android Platform, users are able to fully tailor the phone to their interests. They can swap out the phone's homescreen, the style of the dialer, or any of the applications. They can even instruct their phones to use their favorite photo viewing application to handle the viewing of all photos.

Breaking down application boundaries
Android breaks down the barriers to building new and innovative applications. For example, a developer can combine information from the web with data on an individual's mobile phone -- such as the user's contacts, calendar, or geographic location -- to provide a more relevant user experience. With Android, a developer can build an application that enables users to view the location of their friends and be alerted when they are in the vicinity giving them a chance to connect.

Fast & easy application development
Android provides access to a wide range of useful libraries and tools that can be used to build rich applications. For example, Android enables developers to obtain the location of the device, and allows devices to communicate with one another enabling rich peer-to-peer social applications. In addition, Android includes a full set of tools that have been built from the ground up alongside the platform providing developers with high productivity and deep insight into their applications.

verizon wireless Android phone question. Please help??!!!?

Q. I need to know FOR SURE that the android phone supports flash AND java player. Verizon said its in the Android market but i can't find it with my laptop. I also want to know if you buy a phone from ebay or amazon and not verizon, can you change your phone to the one you bought on ebay or amazon? With no cost? And is there going to be a android update for the samsung galaxy phones?

A. Android does support Flash, you can download flash from the Market. However, I'm not sure if there is a Java Player for Android - but even if there isn't, chances are there is already an app that does basically the same thing as any Java app you may be thinking of.

Regarding buying a phone from eBay, yes, you can do that - I've done it myself. Just make sure that you buy a Verizon phone, and make sure from the seller that the phone has a clean ESN (this is the phone's ID; stolen or lost phones have a bad ESN and can't be activated).

Once you have the phone from eBay, just call Verizon and tell them you want to switch over to it, they do it all in a few minutes for free. Remember though that if your new phone is a smart phone and your old one wasn't, Verizon will require you to add a data plan that's at least $15/month extra.

Finally, yes there is supposed to be an update coming out right now for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy phones to update them to 2.2.

cheapest os upgradeable and android phone?
Q. Can i upgrade android os from one version to other in any android phone? Or is there types like upgradable phones and unagradable android phones? If yes can I know which is the cheapest upgradable Android phone

A. All Android phones are capable of being software upgradable. It just depends on if the manufacturer of your phone and if your phone carrier approves the Android software update for your phone.

Manufacturers like Samsung and HTC overlay Android with their own stuff and phone carriers need to approve if the new software works with their cellular networks.

I say if you want a phone that is guaranteed for quick Android updates for the next few years, get the Nexus 5. It's Google's official Android phone.

Why buying android phones under RS. 15000 ?

Q. i was wondering why on earth people are running after android devices under 15000 budget.i own ace,i found no use in buying a droid under 15000,battery sucks, screen sucks, support only some crap apps of no use, also will not get any further os update.
Im telling this coz my cousin bought 603 running on belle its much better than similar priced ace, when he plays games like asphalt6,eternal legacy hd etc i can even play angrybird properly on ace,the conditions are even worse for devices below ace.
So why on earth are people buying these.

A. People hear that Android is on par with iOS. That is partially true, since high-end phones can really match the omnipresent iPhone 4 and 4S, but those cheap HVGA resolution phones with less than 1Ghz processor Androids can't match the iPhones. They are badly misinformed if they believe that their midrange to low-end Android can really support the hundreds of thousands of apps Android has. Even the Samsung Nexus S do not support all those apps. My N8 can support Angry Birds without any lag, while the Samsung Ace lags while it is played on it. The marketing strategies of phone manufacturers are pretty misleading too. The higher the number, the better it sounds for people. A little research on their part would not hurt to be safe.

I agree that midrange to low-end phones are somehow more cash wasting than high-end phones.

I just posted there everything I thought of. I hope it helped.

Is an Android 4 Phone a Better Deal than 2?

Q. I am looking for a prepaid phone and I am not sure what the difference is between Android 4.0-4.2 and Android 2.0-2.3. Is getting on or the other any better of a deal? Can I upgrade my phone to the newest Android model? Thanks!

A. The 4.0's are the latest updated androids
The 2.0's are the first androids or the first software . I recommend the 4.0s since it's faster and upgraded . If you get the 2.0's you will come across a lot of apps on the play store or android market that you can't use since your phone has an old version of android.

iPhone 4 vs. Android vs. Windows Phone 7?
Q. I own an iPhone 3G (8G) but I have already filled up the memory, making it VERY laggy and crashes all the time. I've been looking for a new smartphone with more flexibility than what Apple is allowing me, as far as freeware, customization, and all that goes, so I've really looked into Android. Nevertheless, I have come quite used to my iPhone and all of it's features, so the new phone must deliver, if not, should i just settle for an iPhone 4? (please take in consideration and specify the hardware you are talking about besides the OS!)

A. Anybody who tells you he's had a Windows Phone has not had a Windows Phone 7, because it's only been out for one month! Similarly, Android phones have come a long way in the last year. The Android phones of a year ago are slow and buggy compared to newer phones like the Droid X, Droid Incredible, myTouch 4G, or Samsung Galaxy phones.

For my money, I'll take Android over iPhone 100 times out of 100. Not only do you have your choice of carriers and form factors (big, small, slide, touch, bar...), you also get much more flexibility and customizability than iPhone, plus lots of functionality you don't get in the iPhone. This includes bigger, brighter screens and cameras, HD video, 4G data speeds, the ability to view flash websites, video chat that's not limited to wifi and specific devices, free turn-by-turn voice navigation, the ability to use your phone as a WiFi hotspot, and huge libraries of widgets which are hard to describe but make your phone so much more useful. Plus unlike the tight-fisted Apple regime, Android manufacturers allow retailers to discount the phones, so you can get outrageously good deals like we've seen this Black Friday and Cyber Monday weekend, where a lot of the latest phones can be had for free.

My specific recommendations would depend on the carrier. For Verizon ,the Droid Incredible is still my favorite. For AT&T, it's the Samsung Captivate. For Sprint, it's either the EVO or Epic, and for T-Mobile it's the myTouch 4G (though the Vibrant and G2 are also wonderful).

Check out authorized super-dealer Wirefly.com and you'll see a lot of these phones are free or close to free with free activation this weekend. That's called competition. Meanwhile, the iPhone is still tightly restricting distribution and pricing. Bravo to Apple for maintaining its high profit margins, but it's not customer-friendly.

How Nokia can re-gain its market share? Give at least three suggestions and support each suggestion with solid?

Q. Q MOBILE; A COMPETITOR OR DETRACTOR:

Nokia is the Finnish multinational company founded in 1871 and the largest vendor of mobile phones providing its services in more than 120 countries. Nokia had the biggest customer base around the globe and is the market leader since many years but with the growing technology and due to vendors of smart phones, Nokia is facing declining market from last five years. Competitors came with latest technology, attractive features, innovative designs with lowest prices thus, attracted large chunk of customers. The entrance of HTC, Apple and iphone in Pakistan has damaged Nokia customer base. The android technology led by iphone and HTC changed the perception of market segments and made them inclined towards products with latest features to show their identity distinctively. The android market offer customers fast, attractive and awesome applications to spend their time in leisure. In 2011, Nokia had partnership with Microsoft and now Nokias phones 710 and 800 have windows phone operating system to compete with other mobile phone companies. The entrance of Q mobile in 2002 captured large market share with providing eye-catching designs, stunning features with very low prices. It caters low price segment by fulfilling their demands thus, segmentation is critical for all businesses. The features like Wi-Fi, Camera, Bluetooth; Nokia provided in expensive mobiles only but recently, people can have all these features in just Rs. 5000 Mobile phone. The customers preference should be the prime concern for every company. This emergence not only changed the perception of customers but market direction shifted from one market leader to many others. But this fact cannot be left unnoticed that Nokia is market leader due to its reliability.

POINT OF DISCUSSION:

How Nokia can re-gain its market share? Give at least three suggestions and support each suggestion with solid argument(s).

A. The Finnish phonemaker also lowered the entry point of its Lumia smartphones with a new model, the Lumia 520, priced at 139 euros.

Most other Lumia phones cost over $200, and the top-of-the-range 920 can retail at over $600 without a carrier contract in the United States and some European markets.

The 920 model was launched last November and has won plaudits from industry analysts for features such as photography and mapping. Sales, however, have been dwarfed by devices from the likes of Samsung 00530.KS running Google's (GOOG.O) Android and Apple's (AAPL.O) iPhone.

Nokia's market share in smartphones has fallen to around 5 percent, while Apple and Samsung together control over half the market.

A new lower entry point for the Lumia 520 would enable Nokia to better compete with some mid-tier Android devices, analysts said.

Which phone should I chose?

Q. Now before I ask, I am totally aware that there other phones out there but I would like a blackberry to use BBM and other features, So I don't want any answers saying, get an iPhone or a Nokia etc...

Well, at the moment I have an iPhone 3GS and to put it bluntly, it sucks, Sorry If I seem picky but it's slow, un responsive, and the worst part is, where I live, my old Nokia with the same SIM gets a better signal than my iPhone's receiver. Theres nothing wrong with my iPhone, I have had it replaced 5 times and my friends have the same problems.

The question I wanted to ask is this, Blackberry Torch 9800 or Bold 9000?

I'm not very intergrated with the whole BB thing, and I'd like to get a BB, but which one is better and why? Thanks.
Can I say again, I wanted to know out of the two models that I'd stated.
And I know all about the new iPhone 4S's and stuff, but I dispise apple, nothing personally, It's just they kinda went down hill :/
And I know all about the new iPhone 4S's and stuff, but I dispise apple, nothing personally, It's just they kinda went down hill :/

A. Go with an android phone like the HTC One X, Or One S, Motorola Razr, Samsung Galaxy S2. all 4 are better than the blackberries and iphones. you will be happier with them than a blackberry. trust me. YouTube a review of each of the phone to see what it can do :)

4.3 inch Android phone for T-Mobile?
Q. Hi, I have T-Mobile and I want to get a phone with at 5 MP camera and front facing camera. It also has to be an HTC 4.3 inch screen with android. This is one of the reasons why I hate T-Mobile. They don't have cool phones. I want something like the EVO but I don't want to switch to sprint. Is there a new phone coming out soon? I considered getting the HTC Desire HD but they don't sell in the US. Thanks.

A. As Philip said, the MyTouch 4G is an HTC. It has 3.8" display and back and front-facing cameras.

The HTC Pyramid is rumored to be headed for T-Mobile. In the usual HTC style, this phone will be both a beauty and a beast:

I am looking for a good touchscreen mobile phone (prefrabbly android) but worst thing is if it has features like 3g, wi-fi, bluetooth, fm etc then it don't have zoom function, if it has all good camera functions then it don't have wi fi or bluetooth.

I want features like internet, social network, camera with flash and zooming functions, photo editing applications and doing fun with photos like inerting text or clipart or other photo effect applications, FM and music, 3g, wifi, bluetooth, and voicemail, i.e. if the phone is busy or off the person who calls me hear a voicemail of mine. I want all the features mentioned above so pls tell me which mobile phone will be good for me within my budget i.e. Rs. 10000 to 15000 (indian rupees)

A. the HTC Evo 4g has all that but it costs 9800 to 14972 Indian rupees...but i dont know if you can get 1 in india?

whats better an android phone or an iphone?
Q.

A. I prefer android over apple for the reason that its open-source, that means that the majority of the apps are free, and you get more revolutionary and cutting edge apps, and do things are even only barely available on a jail broken iphone
The android market already has 250000 apps- closing in on apple 500000; some say it will surpass it before the year is over. Also any popular iphone game or game adaptation can be found in the android market for free.
Another great thing about android as that if you dont like something (keyboard, homescreen, etc.) it can easily be swapped without jail-breaking, unlike the iphones one-size-fits-all approach.

Despite the false rumors, The iphone is also just as, if not more vulnerable to viruses as android
http://www.pcworld.com/article/183763/experts_not_surprised_by_iphone_malicious_app_report.html

Other features only on android
Turn-by-turn voice GPS
Better and larger screen
No need to connect to computer to sync
Here is a big one, add a sd card
Live wallpaper
Better calls
widgets
4g
More customizable
More powerful hardware
Flash support, watch ALL the online videos

Apple lovers that say that the iphone is made of better quality material? They dont realize that Samsung, an android phone maker, supplys the screen, processor and memory for apple devices, so android has the advantage here.
The iphone is pretty, but not durable, drop it once- it breaks, all that glass around it? That was honestly a mistake. Android manufactures clearly saw that, and decided to do with something a little more durable.

And the iphones retina display is a huge scam. By definition a retina display is one where the human eye cannot distinguish individual pixels. But this is determined by several factors; most important being the distance between the screen and your eyes. The iphones retina distance is 12in, move any closer than that- say 7in and its no longer a retina screen because your eyes can now see the pixels, by that same token, if I move my android phone back, to say 16-17in, amazingly, it becomes a retina screen as well! (feel free to google this)

Also apple never invents anything, there never the first. All they do is steal old technology, give it a fresh coat of paint and mass advertise it as magical and innovating, thus fooling the mass of the population into believing that apple offers cutting edge technology, that in fact has been around for quite a few years.
So instead of innovating, apple actually hinders technology- after 4 years they still have low-power single core phones, while android, an example of technology in overdrive, has rumored that, after their second year, the release of quad core phones that will surpass even some desktop computers in shear processing power. (now any 2011 android is smoother and faster than the iphone)

Apple should now feel pretty worried; android has passed it in market share
http://www.businessinsider.com/android-iphone-market-share-2011-4

Then apple panics and sues
http://www.dailytech.com/Google+ExCEO+Apple+Doesnt+Innovate+They+Sue/article22190.htm
The funny thing is that apple cant sue for being the first touchscreen or tablet, because they werent,(Nokia fist touch screen, archos first tablet) so instead they sue for much more relevant things like, the rounded icon corners and having a flat screen or the square shape of the phone..

To top it all, if youve seen apples 2011 presentation, they blatantly copied over five "new" features that were previously on android.
http://androidandme.com/2011/06/news/five-features-in-ios-5-that-show-how-apple-is-now-playing-catch-up-to-google/
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/06/apple-introduces-ios5-with-notifications-ota-updates-and-tabbed-browsing-android-users-giggle-at-their-late-arrival/
1. Notification bar
2. Twitter integration
3. No need to connect to PC to sync
4. Launch apps from lock screen
5. Tabbed browsing

And not only are they copies, but apple didnt even bother to improve, or change some of them in any way- some even have LESS features than their android counter parts, its basically a cheap imitation with the ever-popular iphone skin.
According to Steve jobs, these "revolutionary" new technologies that android users had since 2007 will be available on IOS5, and it would not surprise me to see some more android features from 2008 on IOS6.But the truly sad part is that due to apples marketing, in a few months, apple lovers will really think that apple invented those features and call android the copycatsyet again.

Though I suppose Google shouldve seen it coming.

Good artists copy great artist steal- Steve jobs (apple CEO)

Android phone below 15000 ?

Q. i was wondering is there any point in buying android phone below 15k indian rupee, coz major advantage of os is:
1.adobe flash 10.x support
2.lot of hd games
3.480*800 resolution over 360*640 of symbian
5.good performance with 1ghz and above cpu and 512 and above ram
So none of the phones below 15000 has these features so is there any pointing in buying an android over symbian below 15000.dont say some crap apps most important app are avilable for symbian some advantage of symbian device below 11-15k
1.hd games support,hd video ,divx support
2.amoled or ips led display future major updates like carla os
3.html5 browser with future update.
4.excellent battery and better resolution 640*360 against 480*320 of android below 15k.
So isnt symbian say symbian belle or carla os device better below 15000.

A. If you're gonna buy an Android phone, you'd have to pay way more than that to meet your requirements.

1. Adobe Flash 11 is only supported on the more mid-range to high-end Android devices while the low end (in your price range). The majority of phones in that range cannot support Adobe Flash due to hardware incompatibility.

2. Again, this requires a good phone as the low end Android devices aren't powerful enough to handle HD games which needs a decent phone to run on. Also, HD games requires a minimum of 480x800 resolution on the screen.

3. The majority of Android devices in the low end uses HVGA resolution (640x240) which is lower than the resolution used on Symbian devices. Only mid-range to high end Android provides WVGA and higher (largest at HD which is 1280x720).

4. Again, 1 GHz processors are only covered from mid-range onwards. The majority of low-end devices runs between 600-800 MHz. However, a lot do luckily have 512 MB of RAM.

So yeah, definitely not worth buying an Android phone below that price. But there are some advantages of an Android devices over Symbian like a more better UI that is easier to use and one that is more responsive. The experience is slightly better. For instance, the browser on Symbian is crap (even the new one is). The Android browser feels a lot better.

1. That is definitely true. Most HD games on Symbian is supported at that range but that's mainly because the graphics aren't as high. But the multimedia part is definitely true. Most Android handsets at that price range are only capable of 480p videos. But there are some phones with DivX support too.

2. Can't complain there. AMOLED and IPS LCD displays are fantastic. But, AMOLED is only used on their more higher end devices. The lower end uses IPS only. I wouldn't call Carla a major OS update. It just mainly adds MS Office and such. But considering how Nokia is slowly moving away from Symbian moving on to Windows Phone, I wouldn't really say Symbian updates are that interesting.

3. Um, Android's browser already have HTML 5. As I said earlier, the Symbian browser experience is actually quite horrible. Even the Anna one isn't that good. And even though it does have HTML 5, it's not a very capable one. Android's HTML 5 browser actually works better.

4. Symbian is more light-weighted. Android has a sh*t loads of background services running. That's the reason why the battery life sucks.

Under 15000. It's probably true that the Symbian devices are better since they do offer some better stuff. But, I can also say you're wrong. The only Symbian devices I see below 15000 are the crappy Symbian phones running on Symbian S60v5 which won't get the Carla update, can't play HD games, no HD or DivX video support, nor AMOLED or IPS LCD or even a good browser. It's actually worse than an low-end Android phone if you don't count the resolution in. However, I have found an Android phone that is 15000. Which does offer most of your needs though. The Huawei Vision.
Has Adobe Flash 11
Can play HD games
Has 480x800 resolution
Has a 1 GHz processor with 512 MB of rAM

So, yeah. Debatable.

I could even teach you how to build your own smart phone (Cybernetics major). Unfortunately, you directed the question to GUYS and since I'm a girl, I'm afraid you will have to settle for an inferior answer from one of the other posters.

Need new Android Phone?

Q. I'm tired of iOS and would like to switch to Android. Problem is i don't know what phone I want.
I'm debating between the Droid DNA or the Sony Xperia Z.
If anyone has any suggestions with valid reasons, please tell me. I'm not interested in the S3 because I have many friends who have that phone and would not like to fall i that trend.

A. I have tried many Android phones (Htc, Sony, Lg, Samsung) but now I am stuck with the Samsung Galaxy Note II. It has everything you need. Everything you can think of.

I personally don't like HTC anymore. It is a great phone but after a while it becomes slow. REALLY SLOW. The type of slow you want to blow up the company.

Sony is alright but its user interface isn't as good as Samsung or Lg's.

In my opinion you should go for the Galaxy Note II or the LG Optimus G Pro once its out.
