can you have a att flip phone with wifi but not have to have data plan?

Q. My husband is looking for a simple att flip phone that he can hook up to our wifi at home. He does not text or use internet but would like to download a few apps.

A. There have only been a very few "smartphone" flip phones made. Currently AT&T offers no "smartphone" flip phones, though you can use an unlocked GSM-capable phone on the AT&T network (i.e., a flip phone that doesn't come from AT&T).

The last "flip" smartphone offered through AT&T was the Blackberry Pearl Flip in 2010 (the current version is the model 9670). Although you can still buy the Pearl Flip from other sources and use it on the AT&T network, AT&T will recognize any Blackberry phone and charge you a mandatory $30 per month for their "Blackberry Data Plan" even if you only ever use it on wifi.

Some non-smartphone flip phones may still offer "apps" though these are not the apps you normally think of in terms of iPhone, Android or Windows Phone apps. Feature phone "apps" are JAVA-based and tend to be much harder to find and not as good in quality as smartphone apps.

It is possible to operate a smartphone on the AT&T network without paying for the data plan, using only wifi for the "apps". To do so you must *not* use a phone that was originally sold by AT&T (AT&T will recognize one of its own phones and force a data plan onto your bill). Instead you must find a GSM-compatible smartphone from T-Mobile or from outside the US and "unlock" the phone for use with any carrier. When setting up the phone for use AT&T you do *not* configure the SMS, MMS or data plan settings. This assures that your phone can't use AT&T data connectivity.

More specific info can be found in the posting "Smartphones Without a Data Plan":

what is the best android phone from metro pcs?
Q. hi all, i have been looking and phones and want some opinions.... there are a lot of nice phones out there but i am wondering about:

Coolpad Quattro 4G

LG Connect 4G

HTC Wildfire S

thanks!

A. The best in my mind is Lg Connect 4G,but see for yourself
If you've never lived in China, then chances are you've never heard of smartphone maker Coolpad. The company, which is a major mobile player across the Pacific (Coolpad outsells Apple there by a wide margin), hopes to make the jump to the United States with the Quattro 4G ($79 contract-free from metroPCS as of 10/2/2012), its first smartphone offering here. Though the phone has speedy 4G LTE and a good-sized 4-inch display, the Quattro 4G's clunky feel, outdated operating system, and poor camera won't make Coolpad a household name here any time soon.

ne of the recent phones to be released by the Taiwanese mobile giant HTC is the HTC Wildfire S. It is primarily meant to be a budget class Android phone and it has really served the purpose. It caught our attention at first sight and we have loved the phone ever since. So we thought we would give it our full attention and focus on the pros and cons of the HTC Wildfire S. So, here is the list of pros and cons of the phone.

Pros:

The phone has really excellent design and dimension specifics of 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 mm lengthwise, breadthwise and by thickness respectively. The device weighs a mere 105g which competed with all the devices in the market today.

The TFT capacitive touchscreen is actually miserly but given the cost of the phone, we feel it is pretty much worth it! We have always loved the HTC Sense UI and it is the same in this phone too.

The microSD expansion of the phones memory can be done up to 32GB which is really awesome but we were pissed with the internal memory specifics of the phone. We will come to that in the cons section. Still, we loved the RAM of the phone which is a pretty decent 512MB one.

The camera is a pretty decent 5MP shooter which can shoot good pictures at a resolution of 2592 x 1944 pixels, has features like autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, etc. VGA video recording is also possible at 24 fps, in the phone.

Unlike the LG phones, the HTC Wildfire S runs on the most advanced version of the Android operating system, the Android v2.3 (Gingerbread) and this is one of the features we love most about the phone.

Cons:

Of course, the phone has its own set of bad qualities too. Some of them are manifested in the form of bad processor, bad battery, etc. HTC, learn fast!

The processor of the phone is a really simple 600 MHz processor which can be easily beaten even by a Nokia 5130 Xpress Music phone (remember those red phones which caused quite a furore when they were released)

We also hate the speeds of GPRS and EDGE, which are 114 kbps and 560 kbps respectively. I mean come on, you can give us better speeds for the money we are paying. The phone isnt that cheap!

The battery of the phone really sucks! The 1230 lithium ion fuel is no match for the rate at which Android is growing virulently! A powerful battery is a must have in all phones and HTC simply does not seem to understand this basic fact as far as mobile phones are concerned!

Anyone looking for a budget Android device; buy this one and youll not regret it!

is there a way to replace the standard messaging app on android with Go SMS Pro?
Q. I recently downloaded Go SMS Pro on my android phone, and I was wondering if there's a way to replace the messaging app on the home screen (that envelope icon), so it automatically goes to Go SMS Pro. Thanks in advance!
I have already disabled notifications from the default messenger, i just want to know how to replace the standard messaging app with Go SMS Pro.

A. Remove the default one from your home screen by pressing and holding it, a trash can should come up somewhere, drag it to the trash.

To put Go SMS on the home screen open the app drawer and press and hold the Go SMS icon, the drawer should go away and you can drop it on the home screen.

Hope this works, it's been a while since I've used the default home screen. I've been using the Go Launcher home screen replacement, and Go SMS Pro, for a while now.

I had no idea, until randomly it was on my home screen, because I had stopped using the Nook for awhile, and now I have been using it all the time.

A. It happened in early May of 2013.

What r some good and mostly bad things about the blackberry bold?

Q. I might get a bold but i keep hearing about soo many problems

A. Well, I don't know which Bold you're getting but I have a Bold 9780 and I love it.

The good things about it:
The resolution is so clear, detailed, bright and beautiful
It has a lot of memory so I have hundreds of songs and videos in it.
The keyboard is great for texting
It's great for email and social media
It's so much faster for web browsing than previous Blackberry Models like the Curve 8520 and 9300 and the Bold 9000

Bad things:
I wish the screen was bigger
If you download tons of apps it might get slower or freeze
It's still slower for internet browsing if you compare it to Android phones.

Now, the new Bold 9000 has a wider screen and keyboard and it's so much faster. It runs on OS7, a new Operating system. And also, the Screen is touch so you got the great Qwerty Keyboard and a touch screen in one place.

Hope this helps!

Which phone is the best out of these four?
Q. The three phones are the blackberry bold 9000 or the iPhone 3gs,palm pre,and last the new htc hero (and android phone that is also know as the tmobile g1 touch) which phone is better In Your opinion and why

A. out of those 4 phones i would say the blackberry bold is the best out of all of them. i personally love that phone.

How do I take names and numbers from Excel file and make vCards to put on my Android phone?
Q. I have an Excel file with two columns: names & phone numbers.
1) How can I easily change those to .vcf files (vCards) so I can put them on a microSD card and upload them to my Android 4.0 phone?
2) Instead of using a memory card, could I just attach the .vcf files to an email and somehow import them that way?
3) There are about 200 contacts... is there one big vCard file that can contain all of them, making them easier to transfer?

Thank you for your time!

A. Why would you want to waste your time making vCards. Android and Google have an awesome contacts system that syncs up with Google's cloud. Any changes you make on the phone or on the web in your Google account are automatically synced. If you get a new phone or something happens and you have to reset yours, the contacts are automatically synced to the device when you log in the first time.

You can use your Google mail account to import the file into your Contacts, then edit them as you wish. Go to Google Mail Help and search for the section on importing contacts.

a car dealership sold me a brand new car then said it had been sold to someone else?

Q. They cashed our $5000 deposit check but now refuse to get us the same car at the same price. Plus we lost a $1500 rebate and 0 % financing that expired on 1/3/11, We have a signed bill of sale with the VIN number. By law are they required to honor that contract? Do I have any recourse?

A. Complain REALLY hard, talk to the manager, insist that they give you another car, a $1500 REFUND since you lost the rebate, AND a reasonable interest rate (you probably won't get 0% but it'll need to be small, like 2%).

If you don't, talk to a local TV station's consumer action department. Dealers HATE negative publicity.

You can also call that brand's district manager. They may be able to extend the offer and get you the original deal.

It also feuters Symbian witch is the worlds most powerfull mobile os and could easily match the performance of a android phone with twice the power of 603. For furthir explanation of this check out some of my other awnsers.

How much internet time can i get with 25MB?

Q. Well, this week I am buying a new phone from verizon, and they have changed it so with the phone I want I am forced to purchase a $10 data plan that will give me 25MB of data allowance.

If I only use this to go on facebook and do not actually download anything, about how much internet time would I be getting per month from this?

A. It's not time spent, it's how much you actually view/download that counts. You will be able to go online and look at your data usage day-by-day once you get the phone to get an idea of how much you are actually using.

It really depends on how much you browse the web with the phone. For a normal "feature phone" like they are forcing the $10 monthly 25MB plans on, you will probably not have to worry about going over. On the other hand with a fully internet-integrated phone like an Android device where you can listen to radio, watch youtube and such, 900 to 5000 MB per month is not at all unusual, and is why they require the $30/month unlimited data plan with those kinds of phones.

How Nokia can re-gain its market share? Give at least three suggestions and support each suggestion with solid?
Q. Q MOBILE; A COMPETITOR OR DETRACTOR:

Nokia is the Finnish multinational company founded in 1871 and the largest vendor of mobile phones providing its services in more than 120 countries. Nokia had the biggest customer base around the globe and is the market leader since many years but with the growing technology and due to vendors of smart phones, Nokia is facing declining market from last five years. Competitors came with latest technology, attractive features, innovative designs with lowest prices thus, attracted large chunk of customers. The entrance of HTC, Apple and iphone in Pakistan has damaged Nokia customer base. The android technology led by iphone and HTC changed the perception of market segments and made them inclined towards products with latest features to show their identity distinctively. The android market offer customers fast, attractive and awesome applications to spend their time in leisure. In 2011, Nokia had partnership with Microsoft and now Nokias phones 710 and 800 have windows phone operating system to compete with other mobile phone companies. The entrance of Q mobile in 2002 captured large market share with providing eye-catching designs, stunning features with very low prices. It caters low price segment by fulfilling their demands thus, segmentation is critical for all businesses. The features like Wi-Fi, Camera, Bluetooth; Nokia provided in expensive mobiles only but recently, people can have all these features in just Rs. 5000 Mobile phone. The customers preference should be the prime concern for every company. This emergence not only changed the perception of customers but market direction shifted from one market leader to many others. But this fact cannot be left unnoticed that Nokia is market leader due to its reliability.

POINT OF DISCUSSION:

How Nokia can re-gain its market share? Give at least three suggestions and support each suggestion with solid argument(s).

A. Have a look three suggestions as per my observation, I m too Student of VU and handling this GDB.

1) Nokia should adopted the new technology in touch plus making new application like android.
2) Nokia should introduced the mobiles in reachable prices because it is the best factor for Nokia to gain its market share as like before.
3) Nokia should adopted the new styles and using fancy bodies for their mobile sets with beautiful color.

should I wait for a better Verizon 4G LTE Android phone?

Q. I want the best 4G LTE Android phone on Verizon. So far the HTC Thunderbolt is a the top of my list. The Samsung Charge has that bluish tint and bloat that annoys me about samsung phones. LG model doesn't look impressive. Is the Droid bionic ever coming out? What about the Droid X2?

A. " want the best 4G LTE Android phone on Verizon"

you mean the one that;s the best now? How can somebody tell you that a better one won;t come out in a few months?

If you want to know what people think about existing phones, your best bet is to go to Verizon's site and read user reviews there. Verizon apparently doesn't prevent people from venting about their phone.

How do i see if my wireless carrier is throttling me?
Q. So I've had a problem with my wireless over the past few months. In November and December I had a lot if calls and cooperation with Verizon to figure out why my service randomly clicks off for a couple of seconds. It's not a matter of decreased speeds, its a matter of losing my data connection all together. I've tried a couple of things with Verizon, such as checking certain setting, getting a new sim card, and replacing the phone (3 times). Every call was met with critism about my data usage (20gb+ a month) but they never said that it would cause the problem I'm having. After a month of failed trouble shooting, I had started to get angry with them. The only possibilties that were left were either the service is to blame, or the thunderbolt phone itself (i replaced it, remember). Verizon leaned towards the thunderbolt phone, and after some argueing, they decided to upgrade my phone to the HTC 4G LTE Incredible. Janurary I started off having no problems, but after a week I started experiencing times where my data connection just doesn't work again. Very similar to what I had with the thunderbolt.

So, I am really suspicious of Verizon. I use about 20+ GB a month with my 4G LTE unlimited data service. I know they had been throttling their 3G users, but I am wondering if they are now doing the same to me(I'm 4g). Before I call Verizon again about this issue, I want to test to see if they are possibily throttling me. Is there any way to check on my android phone if I am being throttled? Is there an app that I could run that would check my connection for when it dies out?

A. You seriously use over 20+ GB a month on your phone? Haha, that's nothing. I use 40 GB per month and I'm fine. I just leave my phone streaming movies 95% of the time and I leave it plugged in.

Why do I secretly judge people that have Androids?

Q. The user interface of Androids is just so poorly organized and needlessly clumsy. I just feel like people that would voluntarily get an Android over an iPhone (given that they can afford both) are just kinda dumb.

Why do I do this? Is it bad? I can't be the only person that acknowledges the Android operating system straight up sucks, right?
I have an iPhone. Love iOS.

A. Unfortunately independent reviewers do NOT mark Apples iPhones highly
Also this must be a reason also that iPhones fail to win awards

The SGS 2 the multi multi award winning phone of 2011 which has a 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor, the IP5 18 months AFTER the SGS II has the same speed

The SGS II has won 4 top award in 2011-12
The Quad Core SGS III COPIED COPIED the multi multi award winning phone of 2011-12 [SGS II] the SGS III won THE SAME 4 top award in 2012-13 most recently on 26/02/2013 Global Mobile Awards in Barcelona

Considering the IP5 only has 3 NEW features on it not on the IP4S and the A6 chip optimised to work best in the IP5

Iphone
1) http://www.gsmarena.com/apple_iphone_5-review-822.php
2) Note the source http://finance.yahoo.com/news/8-things-the-iphone-5-still-can-t-do.html
the best ever iPhone since the Iphone the ad states

Both the SGS II and SGS III HAVE 8 more features NOT on the IP5, 9 if you include BLUETOOTH, Despite this the IP6 will still NOT have most if not all the 8 .

Windows 8 phone are coming in at 1.5 Ghz Dual Core processor as standard, they also appear to have 8 more features NOT on the IP5, 9 if you include BLUETOOTH

BlackBerry Z10 also 1.5 Ghz Dual Core processor as standard, it also appears to have 8 more features NOT on the IP5 9 if you include BLUETOOTH

The price paid or tariffs commanded (no demanded) by iPhones...on any every network defy logic and gravity!

"I have an iPhone. Love iOS."

You may love IOS but instead of meandering in the ORCHARD do do a little research (I know)

Apple prior to the APPLE -V- SAMSUNG case lost big time to NOKIA
IOS breaches many of Nokias patents so much so that Apple conceded defeat to NOKIA ..... and APPLE PAYS NOKIA ROYALTIES for each device that use IOS (every device sold! since iPhone)

IOS is NOKIA, all, all APPLE have to do to avoid paying Nokia royalties is to make an OS that Nokia did not design
Love iOS. Sorry Love Nokia

Nokia were making smartphones when SMART & PHONE were TWO separate words and.... "Smart" actually applied for a TRO against "Phone"

So NOT bad just like the maps misguided !
You do know know what today, 14/03/2013 S IV, intravenous SAMSUNG?

I don't have an iPhone but love what competition brings

What's the best phone on verizon that doesn't need a data plan?
Q. State the phone and the pros/ cons

A. The good: The HTC ThunderBolt offers incredibly fast 4G data speeds. The Android 2.2 smartphone also supports simultaneous voice and data over 3G and boasts a large 4.3-inch touch screen, ample storage, and an excellent camera.

The bad: Battery life takes a big hit when using 4G. There is no way to toggle between 3G and 4G.

The bottom line: The HTC ThunderBolt lights up with blazingly fast data speeds, but those who want 4G now should be aware that it takes a big toll on the smartphone's battery life.

HTC ThunderBolt (Verizon Wireless)

Introduced at CES 2011, the HTC ThunderBolt is Verizon's first 4G LTE, and it's finally available for $249.99 with a two-year contract. The Android 2.2 smartphone might not offer the latest and greatest (e.g., dual-core processor), but with the carrier promising average download speeds of 5Mbps to 12Mbps and upload speeds of 2Mbps to 5Mbps, it's no surprise why many are clamoring to get their hands on this device. This includes us, which is why we were so excited to take the HTC ThunderBolt out for a test-drive. The lightning-fast smartphone delivers on many fronts, but it also comes at a cost.

Design
The HTC ThunderBolt is cut from the same cloth as the HTC Evo 4G and the HTC Desire HD, so if you've ever handled those devices, then you have a fairly good idea of what to expect from the ThunderBolt.

At 4.75 inches tall by 2.44 inches wide by 0.56 inch thick and 6.23 ounces, the ThunderBolt isn't for those who prefer dainty devices. The smartphone is large and actually slightly thicker and heavier than the Evo, but it's manageable and the tapered back and soft-touch finish make it comfortable to hold in the hand. As we've come to expect from HTC, the phone is solidly built and has a nice, premium feel to it.

On front, you've got the same 4.3-inch WVGA (800x480 pixels) touch screen as the Evo. There are higher-resolution displays out there, like those on the Motorola Atrix 4G or iPhone 4, but the ThunderBolt's screen still holds up, with clear and bright picture quality. Text was easy to read, and Web pages and video looked lovely on the large screen.

The touch screen is also responsive. Apps launched as we tapped them, and we were able to smoothly navigate through the home screens and menus. The display also features a proximity sensor and built-in accelerometer, which was quick to change screen orientation when we rotated the phone.

The front-facing camera sits right above the screen on the right; below the display are the home, menu, back, and search navigation buttons. Meanwhile, the 8-megapixel camera and flash are located on back, but we really wish there was a dedicated camera button on the phone. Instead, you'll have to use the touch screen to snap photos.

On the bright side, the ThunderBolt has a sturdy kickstand so you can prop the phone on a desk to watch videos, conduct speakerphone calls, and the like. There's a Micro-USB port on the left side, and a volume rocker occupies the right side. Finally, on top of the device, you'll find a power/lock button and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The HTC ThunderBolt comes packaged with an AC adapter, a USB cable, a preinstalled 32GB microSD card, and reference material.

4G features and performance
Before we get to the phone's more-basic features, we thought we'd address the HTC ThunderBolt's whole raison d'etre, and that's 4G support. As mentioned earlier, the ThunderBolt is the first smartphone to work on Verizon's LTE 4G network, which promises average download speeds of 5Mbps to 12Mbps and upload speeds of 2Mbps to 5Mbps.

Given the impressive results we got using Verizon's LG VL600 LTE USB modem, you'd think we'd be a little more prepared for what we experienced on the ThunderBolt, but we were still blown away by what we saw. It's fast. Real fast.

Running Ookla's Speedtest.net app on the handset yielded some erratic and suspicious results (upload speeds were registering up to 39.79Mbps), so we also measured speeds using the phone as a mobile hot spot and as a tethered modem. With the ThunderBolt connected to our MacBook Pro as a mobile hot spot here in New York, we were able to get average download speeds of 7.41Mbps and upload speeds of 6.56Mbps.

By comparison, the HTC Evo 4G from Sprint averaged 3.42Mbps down and 0.93Mpbs up; the Samsung Galaxy S 4G on T-Mobile averaged 4.17Mbps down and 1.68Mbps up; and the HTC Inspire 4G on AT&T averaged 1.75Mbps down and 0.31Mbps up.

We got even better results when we had the ThunderBolt tethered to our Lenovo T61 ThinkPad. We averaged download speeds of 15.58Mbps and upload speeds of 3.44Mbps.

Why mobile phones with android OS are very costly?

Q. For example: an android mobile with 2.0mp costs 7000. And for the same price we can buy an another samsung mobile (using a different OS) with a 3.2mp camera.
So why is this android very costly?

A. It's costly because Android is a smartphone operating system. This means that the phone does a lot of what a computer can do, such as HTML web-browsing, running complex apps, and watching movies among other things. The quality of the camera is no comparison for determining which phone has more features. Also, using a popular OS like Android means you have access to a wider variety of apps.

What can i do to troubleshoot a tablet that won't register touch? ?
Q. I have a tablet that my sister-in-law gave me. She said she dropped it once. Now the touchscreen won't register touch. It's a naxa nid-7000 4gb. What's my best bet?

A. You have to take it back to the store.
Try to explain to them honestly what happened. If all goes well you may be able to get it fixed either for a fee or for free.
If all doesn't go well you may have to purchase a new tablet.

I am an Apple Person (I don't work apple or work yet since I am still a student at school)
But you don't have to be to get an iPad.

Whether you like it or not, believe it or not a fact is a fact.
iPads are the dominant tablet and you not only get all the advantages of that.
Apple is rated number one in customer satisfaction and is often quite generous when you accidentally damage your device.

iPads have a lot to offer and are child friendly. You may have to change a few settings if this is ever the case but it is extremely easy to do.

iOS (the operating system in iPhones, iPod touches and iPads) is far more advanced than android which is coming from an industry standards perspective not just product marketing.
Android which is the operating system your device runs is a popular phone operating system which isn't as advanced but. When it comes to tablets even the most loyal android users would prefer an iPad since it can do a lot more and comes with much better support.

You probably will find that your naxa bid-7000 is not able to be repaired for free or at all.
Not to mention that because most android tablets have buttons that are only usable when you have android OS running which prevents you from fixing it your self.

Go to the apple website after you have tried to get your device replaced or before and take a look at the iPad in detail.
http://www.apple.com/ipad/

Watch some of the videos and read the tech specs.
Find out about the over 200, 000 native iPad apps can run on it as well as the over 500, 000 iPhone apps that run on it too. That is more than 700, 000 apps and increases by just over 30, 000 a month.

The iPad is for work, play, and everything in between.
You can attach it to your snow board if you ever go snowboarding, for real!! I'm not joking!

What ever you decide I hope what I have said has had some sort of impact.

What should I look for when trying to find a smartphone/android compatible with T-mobile gsm network?
Q. I want to use it as a prepaid but don't necessarily want the phones the company offers at this time. Wanted to see if I could find a better phone that's unlocked that I can activate on the t-mobile network and use it as a prepaid. Any help would be appreciated.

The phone works for me I am able to do what I want on the phone like keep up with family on facebook and with my personal emails anywhere. I wanted a phone with a sliding keyboard and this is one of the few phones that have a slider. It is big enough for me to be able to type without a lot of problems I have arthritis so that is important. Although I liked the Rumour keyboard much better. This one is not as easy you have to really push down on some of the keys and the space bar ends up putting a period instead of a space sometimes. The other annoying thing is that it lags sometimes when moving the phone around the screen doesn't adjust quickly but the screen is a bit sensitive so sometimes I lay the phone down and notice that an app has come up even though I didn't touch the screen. Still I am glad I have this phone it is great for me to learn how to use a smartphone and didn't cost an arm and a leg. My two complaints are more just an annoyance.
ProsDurable, Great photos, Great sound
Conskeyboard is more difficult than it should be
Yes, I recommend this product.

And now a link because not so much place here.

How do I get the Motorola Droid without signing a contract?
Q. I want the Motorola Droid but my dad works for AT&T, so he cannot sign the contract for a different service (In this case, Verizon). I might come across the phone itself, but how can I get the service without him signing a contract?

I am 15 by the way, so I can't sign it either.

A. You can try a couple things.

Buy the Verizon Droid or Eris at http://droidcellphone.com with no contract and get Verizon pay as you go plan. You can also buy pay as you go 3G Internet. $5.00 a day to $50.00 a month. $29.00 with a plan so you pay a couple bucks extra to use it.

You cant use the Verizon 3G Network without some kind of plan or pay as you go, but you can connect via Bluetooth and WiFi .

Android is totally open source so you are welcome to get the Droid Smartphones and hack away. Join the developers community and participate.
This is the most exciting time for the development of next gen aka 4G Smartphones. 100's of millions of smartphones are expected to go online by 2012.

Get the Droid and use what you can until you can hack it for AT&T

will the android phones be able to upgrade to the 4g network?

Q. i just got the HTC droid incredible with verizon, and i was wondering if, once verizon gets the 4g network, with there be a mass android phone upgrade that will upgrade all the android phones to the 4G network? i know that there was an update that gave the droid the pinch feature for making screens bigger. So will there be an upgrade that does this?

A. No, how it works is for the phone to be able to utilize said connection of 4G, it requires certain hardware similar to how some computers are not able to access wireless, they need a hardware chip and can't just simply install a program/set it up. Which is why Sprint only has the Evo able to use 4G and why the others can't due to not being a software upgradeable compatibility but a hardware requirement able to use the signal.

An example is T Mobile's HSPA+ rollout. T Mobile is rolling out HSPA+ a 3G network with enhanced speeds fast as and faster than Sprint's 4G, although their devices are able to receive a boost because it is still 3G, the hardware is not capable of utilizing the full power, therefore the need for an HSPA+ device to show off their network which is where the HTC Vanguard/Vision comes in with the hardware capability - soon to be released this summer stated by T Mobile via Twitter feed, although thought to be October/November.

So you will need a new cell phone for 4G, and even then it has to be in your area, I recommend mid 2011 since it's planned to roll out end of 2010/ beginning of 2011 I believe.

Thanks to anyone who can help!

How do you get 3rd party apps for an at&t android phone?

Q. I was thinking about getting an android phone for my next new phone. However, my family has a contract with AT&T and I know how they feel about 3rd party apps and customization and what not. Is there a way to bypass this by hacking your phone and allowing yourself access to more apps.

A. Well At&t blocks certain apps from the market, as well as third party apps, their excuse is basically "to keep developers in check" which i find ridiculous. Android is supposed to be open source, so idk what they were thinking when they did this. But you still can install third party apps on it.
Here's a simple tutorial that will help you
Have fun. lol

Where can I find phone cases for my Android phone?
Q. I have an Android phone (The box says W007 4.0.3). If you don't know what that is, just imagine an iphone 5 that is about 3 and a quarter inches in vertical length, the power button on top is on the left instead of the right, and the side volume and silence buttons are on the right instead of the left. I'm looking to buy a protective phone case for it, but I can't find one.

A. It sounds like you have a Chinese phone. Look for cases where ever you bought it from.
